Question for OP: the 500M in the graphic - what does that refer to? Just wanted to clarify. Thanks!

Just taking a really close look at the block explorer...

Found some huge payouts from single blocks?

Take a look... Can you explain? The coins look like they have never moved out of there wallets. Total coins so far is around 231,000,000.

Block - 1042 http://piggycha.in/block/da8785fe82f6139d733bd2f9bba2a3ac1f00bd6ccdf539481d6bbcc52e1c78a7

There are many more large payouts, totaling way more pigs that exist in the 1st place?

This is normal, this is probably the premine address me (21M), sending some giveaways or something like that. Imagine I send 1000 PIG, 21M appear there and then 21-1k are returned to me.

Original code (before we changed to reducing block rewards and then to 0 block rewards at block 62500 more recently):

Code:
  {
      int64 nSubsidy = 4000 * COIN;

        if ( nHeight == 2 )

         {
          nSubsidy = 21000000 * COIN;
         }

     return nSubsidy + nFees;
  }

EDIT: Seems like notsoshifty was quicker Smiley

Thanks for that.
I'm just trying to asses my risk and making sure the coin is sound before i go and invest more into it.

So undervalued this coin right now!

Just taking a really close look at the block explorer...

...
There are many more large payouts, totaling way more pigs that exist in the 1st place?

The coinbase transactions in each of those blocks, i.e. the newly generated coins, are correct at 4000.

The large values out have equally large values in, and are normal. The total value out is shown in the block explorer, but the total value in isn't. If you look in more detail at the individual transactions you can see it's just small amounts of PIG being sent from an address with a lot of funds; and the client sends the remainder to another fresh address.

Ah right. Fair enough.

What do you guys think about a new logo? Should we keep this one or change it?
A buddy of mine made this ones for us Smiley

I think current one is more professional. New logos are funny but less attractive.

current logo is better although I'd donate to a bounty if you want to crowdsource one.

PIGGY ticker is better than OINK ...

Seems like the logo is staying then. I'm really not sure about the ticker, everyone on twitter seemed to like OINK more. 2 weeks to decide nevertheless.

Hahaha, very funny pics.

These good enough for a logo? i dont know...

A bounty for a logo design is a good idea, maybe get a little promotion from it also.

Do you think a change would be good? That's another thing i'm not entirely sure. We wanna market as the "same" coin, the ticker will have to be changed ofc but for exchange reasons, not sure about logo.

I think the current logo is fine. Pretty representative of what the coin is.

Are you planning on changing anything else?

AM I going to have to do anything with the Piggy coins I have on exchanges right now?

You're gonna have to exchange them for the new piggycoins. It will be a really simple process don't worry. We are working with the guys at coinking to get it done Smiley

Have to say I'm concerned about a couple of things with this change:

 - Three months to mine the first 200 million coins, and one week to mine the last 250 million coins. That seems very unfair to those who mined, or bought, the first 250 million (even if ultimately the total supply is reduced). Why so many in such a short time period?
 - How will you prevent a frenzy that results in many more blocks mined in the first few hours than required, like we see in so many launches these days?
 - The 1.4 code seems to stop at 271 million, not 250 million, coins (although 15.75 million of those are to be destroyed?)

Hi Devs! You are doing a GREAT job, so thank you! Would you mind addressing the issues raised above? I'm curious too (although I'm not sure of the accuracy of that info). Also, I think PIGGY is better than OINK. It's more consistent. Have a good day!

-That's how the PoS/PoW hybrids have been doing it, we also need to raise the block rewards to raise the number of miners.

-The first blocks will have a null/reduced block rewards.

-This was my bad and I did the math to correct it in the other blockchain I'm coding. The total number of coins will be 500M in the end.

EDIT: twitter wants OINK, you guys here want PIGGY. I will put a vote if this keeps undecided.

Thanks for the quick reply. I suggest you have a look at Pandacoin (PND). They had a very long POW period (compared to most POW/POS coins) which apparently makes for a more fair distribution before switching to POS. Not sure if it will help but it's worth being aware of.
