It's a great idea with a working platform. I think it's a good concept for investors. I'm looking forward to the launch.

Tell me, please, how you solve the issue with ping. For example, if I'm in Thailand and want to play CS: GO on a server in Moscow, then I need a ping from 5 to 30.

If you want to play CS:GO competitively ... forget it. There will be always a delay ... because data needs time to get from point a -> b. If you play online games, your delay will be basically doubled, because your keyboard input will be send to Playkey first, then Playkey will send it to the CS:Go Server, the CS:GO server will send game data back to PlayKey and Playkey will stream it to your device.
If that's true then the It is a drawback for the project although normally these games work on almost any computer.

Well, it is. If you play single player games, you should be fine though, if you don't care about the delay of course.  You can't change physics :-)

It's all about the cryptocoins
I think our internetproviders will need to seriously speed up connections & stability to make this become a success.
Nothing more frustrating than a to high ping reply for gamers.. it's the choise between life & death.. in the game that is Smiley
Some countries have a lighting fast internetconnection and thus this should not be a problem over there.. but where I live, I seriously doubt if it will be enough Smiley
Lets keep our fingers crossed that this will be a www. success

Home miners have the potential benefit of being geographically closer to the gamer than Playkey's large datacenters. But the downside of a lower reliability and limited network bandwidth.

This is an awesome way to look at it. Playkey needs to make sure there's an even playing field for the large mining companies and the everyday miner with just 1 or 2 video cards.

Disclaimer, it is still theory. Whether the shorter distance between miner and gamer will result in a noticeably lower latency in practice compared to the datacenter remains to be seen. I am also not completely sure if there will be a direct connection between miner and gamer or if some data has to go through the PlayKey servers first. The biggest bottleneck I think will be the miner's upload bandwidth, which many ISPs restrict.

Yep, it is still to determine if everything works as good as expected. I am pretty sure that a direct connection will be established between player and miner. I don't see a different approach that make sense. There is already a delay in cloud gaming, when the miner needs also to communicate with PlayKey server, the delay gets even worse. Normally the upload bandwidth should be enough. I share Plex servers with friends without problem. But yeah, you need a good internet connection, that is for sure.

Me too, I think the miner will act like a server towards the client, while PlayKey servers have the role of a mothership.

So far, the platform runs on nvidia servers. But she'll go to blockchain after .ico.

What is the difference of your project from many others already existing?

Unless you refer to failed projects from where Playkey will extract enough experience to take off, and that were not P2P in Cloud. What are these projects? I would like to examine them. It would be good to know your platforms

The ones I know (besides NVidia) -> LiquidSky (https://liquidsky.com), Simplay (https://simplay.io), Paperspace (https://www.paperspace.com/gaming), Gamefly (https://www.gamefly.com/#!/streaming).

Here a list of many more ...

Yes i also think that playkey is disruptive and can change the life of gamers, the project can easily bring non crypto users to the crypto world, gamers will want to use playkey, I’m impatient to start playing with playkey too !

Why should it bring users to crypto? If you are a consumer and just want to play games, you just don't need to touch cryptos at all ... you can just pay with fiat currencies.

I'm a little afraid about this new Nvidia streaming platform but at least there will be some competition going on  Wink

By the way, was there information on the console? How much will it cost to work like this?

afaik, there will be no standalone console to buy. it will be more a app / dashboard client for the playkey streaming service to be available on many different platforms like pc, console, tv, mobilephones and so on.

There won't be a console app ... I am pretty sure about it. Why should Sony and Microsoft be willing to loose money? I don't think so ...

I don't think so either. Besides there is playstation now doing the same thing for playstation games, they won't let something similar on their platform.
I could be wrong but emulating games on your server and streaming them isn't breaking any laws
Of course it does not break. Only money does not bring to the console manufacturers, but to application developers. And this is not good for Microsoft and Sony.

There are many exclusive games out there that will never be released on a PC. Therefore, there is no big competition and loss of profit from the manufacturers of consoles. Objectively, Playkey is like an extension of Steam. And it should be considered as a competition between Steam and consoles. But many games first come out on consoles, and only then, when the main profit is received, the games appear in Steam.

There are way more non-exclusive console games, than there are exclusive ones. Most of the games have actually almost similar PC / Console release dates. Sometimes earlier on PC, sometimes on console ... but if that is the case, we talk about a few weeks. So yes, a Playkey-App would hurt Sony and MS, that's why they will never allow it. Also, as people mentioned before, Sony has Playstation Now and I am sure, they won't accept competition. MS is also working on a streaming service as we speak.

I don't think you can see it as a 'console' it will probably be more like a set-top box running on android or linux. If it's an android you will be able to use it for other things also.

Indeed! Consoles will become the past with game changers like Playkey! Smiley
Really curious what gaming would be like in 10 years Cheesy
