No surrender, no retreat, no regret.
Will you update the OP when new pools are online? Anyone have any progress on a gpu miner for the algo?

I try to keep the OP up to date. The GPU miner is in beta testing now. It delivers 40+ KH/s for HD7970 or R9 280X, 25+ KH/s for HD7870. You can watch the progress in the Feathercoin forum: Changing the hashing algorithm

I continue to work on CPUminer.

The new algo looks interesting. Is the miner already optimized to use the advanced instruction sets of new CPUs?

Not yet.

Is "http://pxc.theblocksfactory.com" the only PXC Neoscrypt mining pool at the moment?

Looks like it is. The others are very slow to upgrade, though all they need is on GitHub. On the other hand, there are many solo miners. Everything runs fine and quiet. Orphan rates are very low due to immediate checkpointing and no multipools. Let's wait for the other coins to join NeoScrypt.

Right on. Guess I can point a couple of cpu cores to the pool or just solo mine. XCN is getting overtaken by all the Nvidia GPU's. Slimcoin keeps getting forked and only has one pool that might still be on the wrong fork.

mining is so smooth without these shitty multipool.

I'm still making some nice 20 000  PXC a day
And solo mining is much more fun  Cool

20,000 PXC per day?  That's 600,000 per month?  Wow, you would be majority holder in no time.  No offense to you but this is exactly why subsidies (inflation) on coins like these has to be significantly reduced.

Cause it's too easy for any miners to dump millions of PXC which puts way too much down pressure on the price.  I hope the guys mining PXC with that much power plan to hold their coins but I know bills have to be paid and portfolios have to diversified so many will have to dump a lot of their coins.

Cheers!

for 20 000 PXC you need 800 KH/s, which is almost half of whole network hashrate, I would be solo mining with that much power myself if I had that Smiley

yes, the value of pxc is so low, it's not interesting for pool OP to make a pool.

even with 40-50% of network hashrate, IF I sell all PXC the pool would make in one month. It cannot pay for the drink I consumed during the installation of the pool.

Of course I don't sell PXC made, this would be stupid.

I'd propose adding to the phoenixcoin.conf

Code:
rpcthreads=50

especially if you are going to use more machines.

Recommended Phoenixcoin NeoScrypt settings for solo mining:

Code: (phoenixcoin.conf)
server=1
daemon=1
defaultkey=1
logtimestamps=1
dns=1
addnode=prometheus.phoenixcoin.org:9555
addnode=menoetius.phoenixcoin.org:9555
addnode=atlas.phoenixcoin.org:9555
rpcuser=your_username
rpcpassword=your_password
rpcallowip=192.168.0.*

If you mine with a single machine, set rpcallowip=127.0.0.1; if your LAN subnet isn't 192.168.0.0/24, set rpcallowip accordingly.

Code: (pxc_solo.bat)
minerd.exe --no-gbt -a neoscrypt -R 10 -o http://192.168.0.2:9554 -O your_username:your_password

Replace 192.168.0.2 with the IP address of machine where you run the wallet. You can use this pxc_solo.bat to solo mine using many machines on your LAN. CPUminer detects number of cores automatically. Override with -t or --threads if necessary.

Coinmarketcap is showing PXC with 6 million coins outstanding.  I don't think that's right.  I thought there were around 22 million coins out now.  Just an FYI, not sure if they're getting the wrong info.

Cheers!

They used my block explorer in the past (http://explorer.phoenixcoin.org) until decided to switch to Coinplorer (https://coinplorer.com/pxc). The latter wasn't upgraded in time before the NeoScrypt switch and re-loading the chain now. 3 days have passed and it is at #150K only.

Ok thanks for the update.

Have you considered possibly reducing the mining subsidy and max coin cap with the next code update.  Given lower demand for alt coins right now and many more coins (supply) being added daily it would be wise for any coin to do the equivalent of a stock BuyBack and reduce its inflation rate and max dilution by as much as possible.

I hope you consider this proposal as it will benefit everyone involved just as all investors in any stock (big and small) benefit from a stock BuyBack.
Cheers!

I'll consider your advice, but it is for the next hard fork which isn't going to happen soon.

I am running:
i7-3630QM 3.4Ghz  - 21KH/s
i3-2100 3.1Ghz - 9KH/s

too bad cryptsy has problems with PXC (cant generate address for deposit).
allcrypt seems dead to me - no PXC echanges are being made there.
