Quicksilver Mobile App

The Quicksilver payment system is designed around an all-inclusive mobile app. The mobile app will have two sides to it: one side which provides features and services valuable to taxi passengers and the other side which allows for easy and low-fee payment acceptance for taxi owners and operators. This app will allow taxi passengers to acquire QSLV with one-click purchasing through the app store, while also allowing taxi operators to convert their QSLV back to USD immediately upon receiving a payment. This immediacy mitigates any real or perceived risks which exist with cryptocurrency as a store of value.

Passenger Side

The customer side of the Quicksilver app will be built around the core ability to easily purchase QSLV through the app store. This allows passengers to pay for taxi rides without having to give their personal financial information to a stranger, every time they enter a new taxi. This necessity of this change from “Pull” to “Push” has become especially apparent with the rash of recent credit card security breaches.
Along with providing improved security, the Quicksilver app will have a taxicab reputation rating system and mobile taxi hailing. Upon completing a taxi ride, passengers who submit a taxicab review will be rewarded for their efforts with a QSLV bounty, paid for through the Quicksilver Development Fund.

Review of passenger benefits provided by the Quicksilver mobile app
•   Push vs. Pull payment system provides improved financial security over credit card payments.
•   One click USD to QSLV transactions, to protect passengers from fluctuating exchange rates.
•   Taxicab reputation rating and review system
•   Mobile taxi hailing
•   QSLV bounties for reviews and ratings of individual taxicab service.

Taxicab Operator/Owner Side

There are two main benefits provided to taxicab operators and owners through use of the Quicksilver mobile app. The first benefit is the avoidance of expensive credit card fees and chargebacks. Most payments in the taxicab industry classify as a low value transactions (the average charge for a taxi ride in New York City is approximately $13.00), making this a perfect market for cryptocurrency adoption. Furthermore, the Quicksilver app will provide an automatic QSLV to USD transfer, thus protecting taxicab operators from fluctuating exchange rates. A small processing fee (but a fraction of the current credit card fees) will be charged upon the QSLV to USD conversion, which will go towards the Quicksilver Development Fund as well as the funding of the bounty system.
Taxicab operators who accept QSLV will be eligible for the highest level of reputation rating in the Quicksilver app, in addition to attracting the business of passengers with QSLV funds provided through the taxicab review bounty system.

Review of owner/operator benefits provided by the Quicksilver mobile app
•   Costly credit card fees will be replaced by inexpensive QSLV to USD transfer
•   Immediate QSLV to USD transfer to protect from fluctuating exchange rates
•   Attract the unique customer base created through the taxicab review QSLV bounty system

You guys are insane. If you spent any time online, you would know who's hosting this and they are one of the nicest people in crypto. Iunno. I'm in, and this is the first ICO I've ever purchased.

LMAO.

"Yeah guys cmon lets invest in this doomed project because the dev is NICE!"

ROFLMAO.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Thanks for the huge laugh right before I go to sleep. loool expected coming from a newbie account.  Wink

How bout you get the nice dev to come over here and answer some of these doubts/criticisms that have been dominating this thread. This ICO has about 2 days left and we have yet to see a roadmap of any sort.

At this time, this all just looks like

"Give me 250 BTC so I can call some taxi companies to accept Quicksilver. If they dont, then sorry RIP your investment"

...as if your average crypto trader wasn't dumb enough, now someone is saying to invest in a dev coz he is 'nice' and has the audacity to call the more cautious traders 'insane' bwhahahaha.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Why are people actually spending their money "investing" in this coin?

First of all, why wouldn't a taxi company just accept bitcoin?

Because its too slow imbecile.

The rest of your arguments are equally stupid ...

Hello
Why are people actually spending their money "investing" in this coin?

First of all, why wouldn't a taxi company just accept bitcoin?

Second of all, like any company - no business will actually accept the digital currency. In order to avoid having to deal with capital gains/loses the business is going to use a money processor like bitpay.com or coinbase.com to first convert the money into local currency. You guys do realize no legitimate company would actually accept the digital coin itself. I can assure you coming from a person who has helped multiple businesses and charities setup the infrastructure to accept bitcoin - they all want to make sure it's actually hitting their pockets in USD.

So that leads me to my third point - which would be if business need to accept cash. Then to make this coin the "currency" of taxi services somebody will need to convert this coin into bitcoin - so the taxi companies can accept cash. So now you're getting into the whole legal and compliance issue of having someone take the responsibility of money transmitter. It did not appear anyone has stepped up to that challenge here yet.

I won't even begin the argument of mass adoption and the concept that there are going to be millions of people out there in the next 2-5 years that are looking to use quicksilver as their next form of payment when taking a taxi...

Crypto has just become a sad world. Really I am ashamed to be associated with this entire community.

You know Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Bitcoin. Quicksilver seems to come at crypto currency the right way, rather than preaching endless technical features that hardly anyone really really make use of, I really applaud the forward thinking on this project, and whilst it may turn out to be less than desired, it is still something that as a crypto enthusiast, I must support. A POD does one thing, and that is vet the background of the developer. If he turns out legit, I for sure will be supporting this project.

I don't think crypto needs the crypto police trying to assert their viewpoints so negatively on promising projects. Just because a coin has an extensive feature list, pretty graphics, asset backed or has a name like Dan Metcalfe behind it doesn't legitimize it any more than projects like these.

Indie games are the same, if we went around crushing ever kickstarter fund then we're killing the growth into real world markets.

I'm going to buy a small amount and see what happens post launch.

Give these guys a chance!

Look at you guys go...

Someone who has some actual credibility in the altcoin community is trying to do something with blockchain technology and he just gets bombarded with the anger of a thousands suns passed on to him from people who ACTUALLY scam for a living and who have left, so all you have to take your anger out on now is everybody else in the space. Whether or not this is a scam is yet to be determined, but the clear pent up anger that's just being let out on this and nearly every other ICO thread does not help anybody at the end of the day. Disunity and a lack of community is what is the core problem with altcoins. People "trust no one" and are constantly watching their backs because someone has ripped them a new one in the past. The first rational step to dealing with that would obviously be to just get angry and frustrated at everything altcoin and assume that every project is out to get you and that the entire website is 100% scammers and scumbags.

Statistically speaking though, that is highly unlikely and as I have said before Jack on IRC or Sicarious on twitter has so far shown himself to be a man of good character and has a long enough standing in this community for you to give him an ounce of your respect before you just pass on the anger to him without any justification besides past scammers.

With that said, I will be investing cautiously as this market IS dangerous, but investing nonetheless.

Best of luck to your project and I hope we can chalk this one up as a victory for the altcoiners!

I deleted four posts from this thread. The first sported over-sized red font screaming "scam," and the second was a tongue-in-cheek advertisement for "pizzacoin," and the last two were links to unrelated scams.

As can be seen from the posts I left, my goal is not for this thread to be a circle-jerk full of "yes men." I welcome debate and conflicting views on this thread, but please keep the conversation civil and on topic.

I'm 100% sure this is the usual ICO scam; you have the beautiful colorful infographics, charts, CryptoAsian, hyperbole, bright colors, a logo and everything else.  I'm sure you have your vacation booked already or have talked to local Lambo dealership about what you'll be looking at buying later in the month.  It is quite shameful and very destructive to the cryptocommunity.  Unfortunately, teenagers and newbies will rush to fund your party life because they don't know to analyze a business plan and don't look at altcoin history re ICOs.

You have much to learn about how muncipalities work.  Putting this into cabs in Boston, New York, Chicago etc. is a purely political decision that will be made by local politicians, the owners of taxicab companies and the drivers unions.  You simply do not have the political juice to take meetings at the level, move decision makers or influence policy against the gigantic vested interests that won't want you at the table.  If many cities you will be trying to push aside either the mafia or "good fellows" one step away from the mafia. $80,000 dollars simply isn't enough money to buy the influence and protection you'd need.

Another issue is the nature of crypto-currency.  I wouldn't want to be you when a bunch of teenagers dump their coins on Bittrex to buy the new xBox and as a result some good fellow's taxi company's nightly profits drop 90% because they were planning on coverting to fiat in the morning.  In New York you would get to become part of the foundation of a new warehouse in the Bronx or something.  More than likely once this particular problem was explained no-one at any taxi firm would ever recommend this less they too get to be part of the warehouse floor.

Well, here we go. Another one these damned things. She sent me in to tear it apart. Duty calls and all that.

Spent all day calling major taxi companies in Boston, New York, Washington, Miami, Chicago, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles.  That was as bad as it sounds.

None of that lot had even heard of Bitcoin not to mention bloody Quicksilver.  Thought it was some kind of credit card. Then I went on how it would need special internet terminals to pay and that value changes by the minute. Got a laugh from that.

The serious sorts in each city went on how even if their company was crazy enough to use this shite it would take new laws to allow it.  Everything a taxi company does is under rules to keep drivers scamming passengers, companies scamming drivers and all the rest.

Serious business to change that, connections to the Tony Suprano set and politicians, need $500 and hour lobbyists just to take a meeting someone major.

And into  this world will stride some outside wankers with $80,000 dollars (nothing at all for such an undertaking).

You teens think you'll be in Lambos on the back of this. There's a joke. A great lot of you will stroke off to the beautiful infographics and empty your bank accounts to watch it dump on trading day.  Do some research into ICOs, see how they go.  Maybe 1 or 2 might listen ...

I appreciate you burning a whole day cold-calling cab companies, as you just provided a great example for why Quicksilver is needed. Perhaps I can clear some things up for you.

No companies have yet heard of Quicksilver because I have not publicly marketed it to any cab companies yet (cold calling doesn’t work, as you were kind enough to prove). This was clearly stated in the whitepaper.  The goal of Quicksilver is to fund the infrastructure, marketing, and branding needed to successfully pitch cryptocurrencies to the taxi industry. When the time comes to pitch cryptocurrency to taxicab industries, Quicksilver will be a polished brand with a one-click payment processing app to lower the barrier of entry for companies and clients alike. Cryptocurrency adoption is coming, and Quicksilver is a concentrated effort to achieve proof concept of this adoption. Because many of their transactions are low value payments, taxicabs were seen as “low hanging fruit” to go after for widespread crypto adoption.

Contrary to your research, taxi companies can actually accept cryptocurrencies under current laws, AND, some New York taxi cabs already accept Bitcoin. The legality of Quicksilver is the first thing I looked into when brainstorming this project.

I am not an “outside wanker,” as many people in the altcoin trading community can attest. I have attached my personal Twitter and my freelance writing business to this project.

I understand that this project will not be compelling to all traders and investors: there are no claims of anonymity and a black-market marketplace, no advertised pairs of 1 coin to 1g of drugs, and no promises of a 20x pump in the first week. However what we do have is a vision and focus on building adoption on an aggressive yet achievable scale. While this will not happen overnight, I invite other traders, dreamers, and visionaries, to join me in the coming months and years as we push towards a common goal.
