Volume is crazy!!!  the trading activity has been way up for the last week but today we are at 57 BTC.  That is over 5 times what I normally see at c-bridge.

its not nicehash that is screwing the network, its fpga, seems like asics are better than these fpga exploiters, almost double hashrate lol nicehash on x16r dont have that hash, these fpga are screwing alot of gpu mined coins, im selling all my gpu and just going for asics from now on, this anti asic talk is shit, they push anti asic and they mine with fpga and toy with the network, look at what they did to electroneum and its now happening to raven and alot of other gpu coins

Excuse me but what makes ASICs good and FPGAs evil?

At least FPGAs can be reprogrammed and won't become useless once a devteam decide to change their algo or the manufacturer releases a new ASIC.

Also most (if not all) FPGAs are produced in US from Xilinx, not in China from Bitmain. That's a personal taste and by the way I'm not a US citizen but a European one.
More importantely, I'd never support Bitmain which has proved to do anything, no matter how shaddy, for their own profit. They're doing anything to pump their child, Bitcoin Cash (example: https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/04/24/bitmain-antpool-artificially-boosting-bitcoin-cash-bch-price/) and I can't trust nor support such a company.

This is why I'm supporting Raven which (I hope) can't be mined with ASICs. If RVN can be mined with a 1000$ GPU sloted in a PCI-E or if it can be mined with a 4000$ FPGA sloted in the same PCI-E, I don't mind, it doesn't really make any difference.

Oh RVN can be mined on ASICs.  All you need is dedicated cores for 16 algos and a controller chip that can decide to delegate the task to the appropriate core.
The only way to achieve so called "ASIC resistance" is to make the algo heavily memory bound. Even so, all you achieve is less efficiency gap between the GPU vs ASIC but this is a pretty good achievement on it's own.  The efficiency gap becomes 2x compared to 50-100x.  Classic example is the E3 ethash miner.

Still you have to admit that the big hasrate now is kinda weird. Nicehash has 80 GH of hasrate now on X16R but raven has 1.3 TH right now. Suprnova, which was the biggest pool on raven is now almost down to 0 block per hour. There is a huge amount of hash coming from nowhere.

its not just a huge amount of hashrate, what these fpga miners did to etn was when the diff became low they put in an enormous amount of hashrate and mine coins in very quick succession then when the diff adjusts which takes some time they leave the network thus leaving the real people running the network with hours just to get a block.  isnt this the same thing thats already happening to raven right now?

etn quickly decided to fork back to the original algo along with sumo because of these fpga miners that exploit this diff bombing, so for us believers that run  the network 24/7 is this fair? i still have gpus on raven while other rigs i have sold already just this weekend because of this diff exploit.  its not nicehash we all know that since nicehash on x16r dont have that and gpu are deadmuch hash compared to the fckng increase and dumps were getting and its not a coincidence that the new fpga were supposed to arrive before aug or on aug so the fpga are here gpu is dead but for me im going for asics and not these tard fpga monopoly

well its because its these fpga miners that are screwing raven network right now, look it up why etn and sumo went back to asics after the fork because what is happening to raven now happened to etn

this huge spikes in hash isnt from nicehash but from fpga miners exploiting the difficulty, and these fpga miner advocate anti asic while they screw gpu miners

adn to the guy who says fpga is better, lol how many people can run fpga, fpga has been mining on alot of gpu coins since last year, now they want to release an old bitstream with 4% dev fee on top of miner fee and pool fee, thats monopoly and all the while they advocate anti asic lol

im for asics since its plug n play, bitmain has a good amount of market share of the asic market is because people are buying from them, but there are other asic manufacturers, if you still dont know a japanese conglomerate is already selling a 24ths asic miner that beats bitmain and all other asic manufacturer in china

and you say bitmain miners are made in china and you want made in USA, where do you think the chips from bitmain come from? lol theyr from texas instruments

anyway i have still a few 1080ti left, i believed in the anti asic until last month when f[ga miners were screwing every fucking algo that forked away from asics and the idea they sold to us about anti asic are all bullshit. they have been advocating against asics and they mine with fpga to compete with gpu miners, now they want to monopolize the bitstream market lol they even have theyr own rebrand of fpga

anyway lets talk again nxt year when reprogrammable asics comeout, go research why intel bought eASIC and put resources from intel and alterra to that asic company just to research on reprogrammable custom chips, custom chips? asic are custom chips. and bitmain has an ai asic chip already its just a matter of time for the nxt step up on asic tech, o btw did you know before asics are made they prototype it first on fpga?

Than again, the difference between rvnstats and ravencoin.network is quite big, the latter shows 20% suprnova, the first showing jot 9%.

Leaving aside the spam-shitpost above me (talking about taking part in RVN ICO when there was never any! Grin), this is trully the first time the team of Raven will be tested.
For now I've also stoped mining it since there's no point wasting electricity. I'm monitoring this thread though and I'm hoping for solution by the devs. Whenever they'll need support, I'll provide it!

And for crying out loud, STOP USING NICEHASH! The fees you're paying to them are higher than what you'd pay to choose the coin yourselves and manually trade it... or you can hold it and support an altcoin team.
But even if all you want to hold is BTC, then at least help to keep the network decentralized. Right now the most powerful and the richest are Nicehash and probably Bitmain.

well they made it and make everything lol. the maintenance cost will high too~and dev team doing need improve code.

Developers ! Save the coin ! Solve the problem of difficulty, otherwise you will lose the miners who were with this coin from the beginning . Don't betray your miners !

try this if case

Code:
if mergeminingextra.hash > 800000 then
return 10000;
else
return.hash;
end if

tell them used new algo for fixed. that loop will. become tremor  Roll Eyes

New users Nd power users really want this coin badly then

Also we "old" miners won't mine this coin anymore.

Nicehash destroys it completely...

Please Devs. Do something, that nicehash isn't working on RVN! Sad

There's no reason to make it unavailable to nicehash (don't know if it can be made unavailable), just make the difficulty adjust 4 times faster and all will be well. Going from 2016 block (2016 minutes aprox so every 33 hours idealy) to 504 (every 8 hours and the impact from nicehash will go away or at least be greatly reduced.

It's the difficulty of finding blocks, which makes it harder. Yesterday the 2000 blocks were hit in about 13 hours, because with the lowered difficulty and increased hashrate ~3 blocks were found every minute. Last difficulty change when it was 23k, the average time per block was less than 0.5 blocks every minute, so those 2000 blocks took way longer then the 33 hours. Now the difficulty is 33k, meaning that we miners will spend 3 days finding all 2000 blocks within this difficulty round. Afterwards the diff drops again to sub 13k levels and nicehash will come and f*ck things up again in few hours. This is cancer and as you say the intervals between diff change needs to be adjusted (much shorter intervals), otherwise I am not wasting electricity on Raven anymore and I really like the coin which I am mining since march.

The fluctuations come from the algorithm itself. If you the algorithm is mostly fast components then your hash rate will be much higher than when you have a bunch of slow components to the algorithm.

Yes it changes every minute but you will have some periods of time where it is real high, real low, or something inbetween.
Maybe that's what makes the RVN algorithm strange, and it's always been the case, although it's been upgraded many times for mining tools, and if the value of RVN is enough to attract investment from ASIC, it may become more stable in the future.

Diff is godlike

report to the ajust diff like lwma2 or constumes diff. and make like on blockchain

Code:
if hashnumber > device_support
block = enable
else
block = disable
end if

device support[amd_support, nvidia_support];

like that
