It's not working for me :S

That's part of the bug. You can still mine in the wallet. I presume when we reach block 24200 the wallet will be properly in sync, then we can solo mine with GPUs. You just get a connection error if you try connecting with vertminer now. We're currently on about block 1354.

my node went down, its coming back online soon.

Sorry about that. Everyone please post your node address if you are planning to support the network for a while, that way people can just directly connect to you if they are out of sync. These issues only occur due to the lack of nodes in the network atm.
