the logo is good and wonderful, haha ,but I do not know the future of the coin..

If you know the future of any coin then please send us a PM immediately so we can go and buy some lottery tickets Smiley

Nothing that relates to innovation is certain - and altcoins are all about innovation. It's all about trying new concepts. Some will fail, some will succeed. What matters most is the effort that gets put into it. There is no guarantee of success (nor is that necessary). What is necessary is that we (and that includes the community too) keep working on these innovations. Every coin that seriously tries to make improvements in crypto has a shot at making it for the long haul, and our intentions are exactly that. There are a lot of other coins that are nothing more than clones of existing coins, and any such coin simply won't last. We are not quite like that. That's also the very reason why the latest news we published was written in such great detail, as we intend to inspire people by sharing insights and publications (such as the premine block).

Thank you for the compliment about the logo. We hope you also actually look beyond just the cover of the book though. We do not expect anyone to just take our word for it, you can also just wait and see to learn more as we simply demonstrate what we have in store Smiley

I am not 100% sure I understand the new SAT2 POW stage.  Where do the SAT2 coins come from that are exchanged for the 1000 SATs?

Wouldn't you need a premine to create all of those, to give to Cryptsy to do the exchange?

Does new wallet start on block 1 in PoW for SAT2 for miners for those 20 days?

Thanks, sound intriguing.

Good questions! I'd be happy to explain:

- The new blockchain will start from block 1
- In the first block we will mine 7,777,777 coins. These coins are used for the transition of the old SAT coins. So indeed, these coins will be distributed to MintPal and Cryptsy, so they can handle the swap.
- After the swap(s) are done, we will provide any SAT holders who did not take place in the transition a final opportunity to get their coins exchanged for new SAT² coins. This will be limited time (exact amount of time will be decided based on how many coins have successfully been swapped by MintPal and Cryptsy), because at a certain point we will simply need to leave the old chain behind.
- Any coins that are remaining (e.g. any of the 7,777,777 coins that have not been used for the transition) will be destroyed.

The 20-day PoW stage on the new blockchain is completely unrelated to the transition. This is simply a regular mining period. The reason it is needed, is because the minimum stake age for the new SAT² chain is 10 days. This effectively means that during the first 10 days after the launch of the blockchain, no staking will take place yet. And if there is no staking taking place yet, and if there would also not be any PoW mining, then the blockchain would not move. So in short: the PoW stage on the new blockchain is simply to make sure the blockchain is moving before PoS has kicked in.

I hope this provides a clear answer to your question.

MINTPAL DEPOSITS

Please note that Mintpal currently requires deposits to be manually approved by their admins before they will be credited to your account. This is an additional security measure they are implementing alongside the 999 confirmations requirement.

The reason they are implementing this, is because Mintpal has been targetted by attacks numerous times. This basically means that scammers are attempting to deposit non-existing coins. As you can imagine; if they would successfully be able to do so, and subsequently withdraw real coins before their admins have spotted the attempt, that could have serious financial consequences for Mintpal. To reduce the chances of this happening, they have implemented this procedure for the time being.

What this means is that you have to account for the fact that deposits to Mintpal are currently very slow. Please make sure to keep this in mind.

If you require any support with a Mintpal deposit, please make sure to contact Mintpal Support.

Cool stuff! Sounds like an interesting project. You have our support Smiley

Just a thought: maybe you should consider using a format that's easier to update than a (e)book. Development in altcoins progresses so fast.. it'll probably need frequent updates. Maybe use a CMS which can compile an updated PDF on the fly?

Good luck!

WALLET UPDATE

In light of today's news about new security vulnerabitilies in OpenSSL, we are releasing QT wallet updates which include the latest OpenSSL version which was released today (version 1.0.1h). Both the Windows and Mac QT wallets are updated:

Windows: http://saturncoinfoundation.org/downloads/saturncoin-qt.zip
Mac OS X: http://saturncoinfoundation.org/downloads/saturncoin-qt.dmg

Note that the source code on Github has NOT changed, since the source does not include OpenSSL libraries. In case you are running a wallet which you compiled from source (e.g. not a QT wallet), you should upgrade your local OpenSSL version (source at http://www.openssl.org/source/openssl-1.0.1h.tar.gz), and after that you should recompile the Saturncoin source.

New vulnerability found in OpenSSL. Dev its time to update the wallet for the Windows/MAC folks. OpenSSL in Linux is system dependent.

We're looking into this.

Well I thought Id try to a clean install of the QT but Avast blocks the saturncoin-qt.zip from unzipping lol.

What to do?

When I scan the zip or the QtCore4.dll file it tells me its Win32:Malware-gen

I am having a problem with my security software detecting the QtCore4.dll as a threat and won't allow me to open the wallet.

Even if I make an exclusion to allow the .dll, it still blocks it upon the next start of the wallet QT.

Any ideas?

the anonymity of the blockcain like darkcoin

We haven't announced any such plan. I'm not confirming nor denying whether we have such plans, but if we do, there is no specific date set for it yet.
