Wolf0 Neoscrypt mod must have been sold to every big miner Wink

2 days ago FTC network hash was 779mhs

Today, the FTC network hash is 1.05GHs  Shocked

A whopping 35% increase in 2 days Tongue

Nope - my guy may have switched back to Neo, though.

What do you think of my post on the CCminer thread wolf0?

"It's math and macro economic strategy for most people to make a return on alts.

"Yeah, but remember, big funds outside of the Crypto Sector have, only, a 5% success in investments into new business ventures   Shocked

Why should new crypto coins have a bigger success ratio, maybe a lower success rate of 4%. Developers disappearing is not such a surprise, when you think about it? Some investors and miners have unrealistic outlooks on new alts, even old alts  Huh

Buying or mining into coin before they have their 1st Block halving or late on in their pre-POS as the initial buzz of the launch has worn off, the the most efficient way to get a big position with such a low success rate.

Taking a position of 0.001% to 0.0001% is necesssary to ensure the few successes you achieve return a net profit compared to failed investments.

Here's a few examples:

Pheonixcoin, 98 million coins, equals 98,000 to 9,800 position; Block halving 2015.

Feathercoin 300,000,000 coins, equals 300,000 to 30,000 position; Block halving 2019.

Vertcoin 84,000,000 coins, equals 84,000 to 8,400,000 position; Block halving 2018.

Therefore, if one or two investments reach 10-50 cent a coin, you have made a net profit on the investments, even though your investment in the other 24 coins made a mad loss   Grin"

Hope it helps newcommers Wink"

He just said it was all rejects - I've got 500kh/s on 280X working, but just barely.

You newb's, I tell ya..  Barely working at 500, sheesh, can't even put out the effort to get it stable...  Wink

Haha, it is stable. Just barely over 500  Wink

510 here. Smiley

damm315er probably was mining scrypt with the older sgminer, that explains 100% rejects.. Smiley

Guilty as charged, whatever you meant by that..  Cheesy

Do you use a private miner (kernel)?

I haven't really messed around with it that much but it was about 310 kh/s with a reference 290x. Intensity 14, w64, tc8192, 2 threads. I think those might be the example settings at your github miner.

What are yours up to now? Please don't tell me you're already hitting 1mh/s.  Haha

Halfway. 550kh/s on 290X.

https://ottrbutt.com/miner/neoscryptwolf-12152014.png (NSFW) - 280X cards, 7950s, and a 290X.

Oh, and my 2 270X cards: https://ottrbutt.com/miner/neoscryptwolf-12152014-2.png

Wow.  That's nice.  Looks like your 270x may catch my 290x.  That'll be a sad day.  I need to find a friend that knows how to program.

Not just programming, it's kind of a specialized area. Just broke 560kh/s on my 290X, but I'm gonna keep messing with it.

What would you call that specialized area if I need to describe it to someone?

Probably GPU programming or parallel programming. Most coders don't think like they need to to work on GPU - it's very different.

I have two cards. With some kernels, card 0 apparently hashes well but WU is 0, no shares submitted. Card 1 is ok. Same problem on sph-sgminer 4.1.
Any clue?

Give more information please, what type of cards, what configuration run.

One is 290, the other 290x.
It seems to depend on the kernel and not the specific configuration.
Different versions of x11 kernel may work or may not, with the same configuration .
Anyone had the same problem?

I have bad experiance with 290, hard to reach stability mining in different algorithms.
Anyway, you should to have different configurations (settings) at least because of the difference (numbers) of stream processors.

My 290's are pretty stable at 7.8 mh/s each on x11.

But they take different settings from the 290x.

It was only the wind.

I think that may be the case.  CGWatcher uses temporary config files and something may go wrong with that step.  You can disable that setting.  I'll try that.

On a side note what is the character called that is between w64 and 4ku0 (w64l4ku0)?

l4 for 32-bit, l8 for 64-bit

Thanks.  That's why yours are always l8, I used to use your 64bit builds.

What hashrate do you get for Neoscrypt?

I mean that, with the same configuration, one x11 kernel works and the other doesn't (card 0). Card 1 always works.

Do you use the public kernel? What is your setting?

God no; this would be impossible.

so that is just bragging.

No, it's answering a question that was asked.

Can somebody help me configure my R9 290 on Neoscrypt?

My R9 280x do about 515kh/s. While my R9 290 get only about 360? Can't be. On X11 the 290s do about 6900, which seems ok to me?

This is my config:
Quote
],
"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1,W:192.168.2.77,W:93.130.41.63",
"api-listen" : true,
"expiry" : "1",
"failover-only" : true,
"queue" : "0",
"scan-time" : "1",
"gpu-threads" : "4",
"gpu-engine" : "960,960,960",
"gpu-fan" : "67,67,70",
"gpu-memclock" : "1250,1250,1250",
"gpu-powertune" : "20,20,20",
"intensity" : "16",
"temp-target" : "85",
"temp-overheat" : "90",
"temp-cutoff" : "95",
"worksize" : "64",
"lookup-gap" : "2,2,2",
"shaders" : "2560,2560,2560",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"sharethreads" : "32,32,32",
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"tcp-keepalive" : "30"
}

I'm using the 14.7RC Drivers. Stilt BIOS also installed. But somehow the cards wont gain much speed.

EDIT -- ok with lower Intensity (13 - similar to old scrypt configs) the Hashrate goes up to about 620. But somehow I'm getting R:100% ?

EDIT -- ok, it's been the version von SGminer I've been using. Updated to the latest provided by Nicehash. Rejecteds been the same problem to my r9 280Xs.. Been wondering why my hashrate was so high. With latest miner it's dramatically lower.. Sad

What is the version of miner you use? Where do you download it? It is very fast for 280x.
