Anyone know why Cryptopia has delisted Sia?  Undecided

As I recall the volume was very low for SIA on that exchange, so probably not worth all the time required to support the wallet.

Anyone know when Sia will be viable for enterprise use? at least for a small company?

This project are very strong, and continues to be. Don't forget that Sia intends to replace Bittorrent, Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Microsoft OneDrive, and all backend cloud storage services. It's very big like concept. This world will be open soon.

For me we can't wait a little more. The price will rise.

It seems like the perfect time to invest. Personally put in 7 BTC (23% of portfolio) an hour ago.
There are few problems, but this altcoin looks to be the most promising for mid-long hold.

really a good project and this very cheap, I remember when it was worth 300 satoshi, and think that it fell so much

I spread mine of 20 coins.

How can you monitor all those coins?

With google spreadsheet. I create a tab for each coin, and grab the prices in USD and BTC from function calls to exchanges with web service API calls.
On the 1st tab of the spreadsheet I grab key data for all the coins and get a summary of their value. I also grab the hourly, 24 hour and 7 day change for each coin. I also place sell targets here as well.

I am quoting you so I remember this idea with spreadsheet, when i increase my portfolio.
Great work,man!

Regarding SiaCoin. IT seems like a very good idea, project. Its been a while since it started but for me it does not seems that it is being accepted enough. Is there any legitimate reasons for this ?

Also it seems that it is not doing very well in market recently. Could it be explained with overall problems in market right now or there is other reasons ?

Does anyone else also tried to withdraw Siacoins from Poloniex and the transaction is listed as completed while when he's putting Txid as a hash on http://explore.sia.tech/ it shows that there is no such a hash found in a database (so the transaction is not even on the blockchain!)? I opened a support ticket 2 months ago but didn't hear back from Poloniex yet. What I can do in such a situation? I tried to withdraw rather big amount of Siacoin so I'm getting nervous about that.

What's your guys' thoughts on Sia?
Seems to me the coin is lagging heavily behind, but not without reason.
It's however bounced decently off of these levels for a quick and easy 10-20% profit before, depending on where you bought in.
Concidering putting a small amount into it hoping for another leg up to 185. Thoughts?

I was looking at this page here:

http://siapulse.com/page/market

at the inflation tab, it is shown that inflation is about 33% as of today.
What does that mean actually? I know it reflects on the block reward but 33% of what actually?

Can someone give me a number? how many coins is produce per year for 33%?

Or am I looking at this wrong?

Thanks

An inflation of 33% means that during the next 12 months the number of coins in circulation will increase a 33% due to the process of mining. The reward of mining gets smaller with each newly forged block, and the mined coins represent less and less proportion of the total coins in circulation.

For this reason, this year is 33%. Next year a 20% extra of coins will be mined, on 2019 a 10% and so on

Currently about 30 billions of coins are in circulation, so the inflation of 33% means that on September 2018 there will be 40 billion. Check also the "Coin Supply" tab of SiaPulse

Sia has been a solid investment option for some time.  It was lower so maybe it's not the perfect time, lol.

Don't forget.... the human weakness is always the weak link.... so don't store any of your passwords online.....You can have files encrypted with 127863187263128763187263bits, but i someone knows your password.... Huh

I'm in to Sia as well 30% of my portfolio, cuz i believe in their cloud.

Also got about 20% of total invested in SIA, to me its a project with great devs and a solid platform. It's going to take some time, but we all in it for the long run.

Jup, i'm gonna host for SIA in a few weeks, so i'm gonna be part of the chain  Roll Eyes  I really like the idea behind this all and i am in for the long run as well, ofcourse.

I just had an idea. Currently I store many of my personal details on password protected PDFs and word files on Google Drive. I hope that is secure, but it is still technically possible for someone to hack and get my information, as it's stored centrally.

What SiaCoin, Storj etc. are doing is they make it technically impossible to access the files as the files are encrypted, split up and distributed across the network and there is no way to get the original file other than having the private key to do so. So, private and secure storage could be a huge application for Decentralised storage!  Cool

You shouldn't store any passwords and few personal details on Google Drive if you can avoid it. I think word encryption is a joke. But I agree SIA will make such storage much safer.
