when i log into my wallet i loose 10 SC
it does not always happen
but it is the second time that happend !???!
is it normal? i dont unterstand why do i loose money by unlocking my wallet?
i have not rented any storage and there arew no contracts.
at first i tought someone was stealing my sia coin but then i wondered why he/she/it would only send Ten Sia coin.
doesnt really make sense xD

i would appreaciate if someone could awnser my question.

and i have to say i love sia, sadly the other storage solutions get a little more press but i think sia is the one.

Why am I not surprised? in order to host files and earn money I'd need to have 2000 tokens in my wallet, this is like steemit, have some steem to have power when you up vote people and then earn money, no thanks.

LOL it's nothing like steemit. Hot damn read the white paper before make comments on the functionality of coin. You lose reputation when you make comments like that. Those 2000 tokens that you have to put up are used as a deterrent against unreliable hosts in the network.

Hello all... could someone kindly explain the difference in the algorithms used for mining versus storage?
Are your question means PoW and PoS, is right? You can understand PoW look like as need mining for creating coins, PoS need holding your coins in PoS wallet for receive stake. Read more detail at here will helps you understand the different between PoW and PoS:

Siacoin's deposite and withdraws freezed on Poloniex?

"SC is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the SC team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling."

Why?

How long is it freezed? And why?

Quoting myself, No answer?

Poloniex is experiencing problems not only with Sia, but with LTC, Golem and others as well. Bittrex is working currently without flaws.

(...) I think they should focus on the simplicity of the client side and marketing rather on the hosting side.

Minebox is actually an independent company not related with the developing team (Nebulous)
Hearing about them having problems with several other coins too with wallets not being synced or unavailable all together.
Didn't even know if sia was available on bittrex until I checked when you just mentioned it.
It is doing good today too on there.

Wallet all synced up and ready for testing now on the new version of the updated version 1.3.1 codename: Capricorn. Grin

And we have siacoin lift off! Cool

Thanks from

Sia Developer has just informed us at reddit that they contected poloniex and they are not working to solve the issue and it should be lasting for more then few days.
Polo also had problems with Steem, lisk, Zcash,Ethereum,Litcoins, and many more, and they solve all within a week or so, nothing to worry about.
Bittrex and Yunbi are operating sia markets without any problems.

is there any pool that has low cash out? cuz its 5k siacoin before i can withdraw it to my wallet,
is there any lower?
Which one are you using? Siamining has a threshold of 500SC and Nanopool of 1000SC

why does the sc price pump against the market, is there any good news?

We had very good news in the last weeks:

- Sia client version 1.3 released
- Nebulous offered a bounty for creating a connection of Sia with Minio and there is already a working prototype (and this si cool, because it enables external file sharing though other popular services like Amazon S3).
- Nebulous received a $400K grant from INBlockchain

2000 tokens is a very small amount according to current price.. do expect price to rise in upcoming days..

I agree, this is why I bought an Obelisk. The market is rather large, but the dev team must make a popular app to create a recognizable brand while working on the back end. Mineboxes at outrageous prices do not help one bit, besides I think they should focus on the simplicity of the client side and marketing rather on the hosting side.

Is Siacoin the next big ROI on longterm for year 2018 ?
I think SIA has a very bright future.
The idea is genius and it opens the way to the cloud storage market which is very large, once one of the big companies find out and invest on it, it could skyrocket the price to new levels, just as happened with xrp.
Sia market is pretty small now and has huge potential to grow.

Guys tell please, i load old 0.3.3 wallet with command "siac wallet load 033x" and see all transaction, but balance is 0.

I suggest you to update your wallet to the 1.3 version, it could be the problem.
Anyway you should wait your wallet to sync with the network so you can see your last transactions

Do you leave your computer on all the time? What about the cost of electricity? What happens if your hard drive crashes and you lose their files? Do you lose the tokens from your collateral? I have a junk pc set up that I don't use, perhaps I should use it for this.

- Yes, you need to leave it on 24/7. Hosts need to fulfill Proofs of Storage over the course of the contract. If they don't (uptime of 97%) they lose both the potential earnings of the contract and the collateral put on that contract

- If done properly, electricity costs can be negligible (under 50Watts). Consider low TDP CPUs, 5.4k rpm instead of 7.2k rpm disks...

- If it crashes and you lose the data, you miss the Proofs of Storage and so you lose the contract and the collateral. If you have a multi-disk setup, using some RAID redundancy is a great idea to prevent data loss

Interesting. Thanks for the valuable info, I'll see if I can set it up and get at least one contract running to see how things work. IfI use 20 TB, what's ROI on that with lets say $1/TB

Is your client fully synchronized to the blockchain? If not synchronized, it will not show the Tx until the block it was included in is downloaded

I do not understand, is this an old version? And when you load your balance is zeroed? Did you backup the old wallet?
