I think price will find new floor at these current level somewhere. I really don't see the value of Sia declining anymore which to be worried about. It has already fallen unexpectedly lot while everyone was waiting and thinking to see it rising with uptrend. Someone surely buying and accumulating slowly slowly.

When Bitcoin price grew in May/June price of Sia did not change so drastically like now.. Sad What is going on? If it will goes like that, it will drop below 200 satoshi..  Cry

And you will buy later at a higher price when the pump starts.. keep the coins and be patient.

I'm out right now.. It looks like the price will continue to fall. I will buy back when the price will be on the ground.

This is the coin I feel most confident in.  It may not have the fastest ROI but it will succeed and it will take time.  This isn't a coin for day traders, this isn't a coin for weak hands.  This is a coin for people with foresight.  It may not make you rich but you will most likely make a very very nice profit in a few years.

ASICS are coming out and proof of burn will take this coin to the moon in a couple years.

I hope it crashes because I would love to sock more away.

You shouldn't hope for a crash. You should just keep buying!!!

Is the community reaching a general consensus on what to charge per TB for storage?  Or is it just charge whatever you'd like?  Is there a way to see what others are charging or some type of guideline?

Thanks,
Huck

Each host decides his own pricing, but as it is a competitive process, and so low-scored (expensive) hosts don't get contracts, the market pushes the prices down. Top hosts have been asking steadily less than $1-2/Tb/month the last months.

You can check this host database: https://siahub.info/ Click on the "score" column and it will order hosts according to their score. That way you can check what top hosts are asking

Value of SC/Siacon is very predictable. Just like some of the altcoins that you can predict how much would go high and low. Some of investor and traders call it "Weekly trading" means holding of it and dumping it of before the week ends.

I have a look at the SiaHub https://siahub.info/network everyday. As long as the utilized storage goes up steadily I'm happy.

It is down on other exchanges as well, here is my screen shot from cryptopia.  I see this all the time on every exchange I deal with and it only happens to my SIA coin investment. This leads me, an investor, to the conclusion that this coin has issues. There always seems to be broadcasting issues. If I feel this way, I believe it may be why the value keeps dropping. Investors bail when there is reoccurring issues. If this was a one and done fixed issue I would be able to continue holding and I do not blame the exchanges as too many are reporting issues, the coin needs to work end of discussion.

If you read the link I provided you in the previous post, you could have learn 2 months ago there was a network problem due to an unexpected increase in the number of transactions because of massive hype after the coin value increased about x30. Do you want to know more about what the dev team did to address it? Just ask. Read here: https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/6er35v/what_we_are_doing_about_poloniex_withdrawals/

Firstly, other exchanges are working flawlessly as I mentioned. Bittrex has proven to be very reliable and it is most used by community. If you want to a trade a coin, move to the exchange that works instead of complaining about your favorite exchange not working.

Secondly, it is a blatant lie claiming that the value of the coin is dropping, Bitcoin value has increased a 15%-20% these past weeks, and so every other coin has devalued compared to BTC. Compared to the dollar value, Sia has been stable around $0.008 and these past days it has reached $0.009-0.01

Why is the wallet down on most exchanges. this happens far to often. I may just bail as i have read the horror stories of lost SIA coins. have dev team come up with a fix for this?

I don't know where you heard that. No one has lost Sia coins because any flaw in the Sia blockchain. The only issue has been problems with delayed withdrawals from Poloniex due to their negligence. There has been a huge increase in the volume of transactions in the network and the developing team provided tools to the exchanges to minimize the issue. While Bittrex, Shapeshift, Yobit and Bisq had no further problems since these tools were provided, Poloniex has not done their part to fix it. In any case, it simply means withdrawals are usually delayed a few hours (mostly) or a few days (rarely). A few cases has been reported of tickets never solved in Poloniex of withdrawals pending since one or two months.

But it a problem entirely of Poloniex, just stay away from them. If you want more info about the issue check the last part of this article in the wiki: https://siawiki.tech/wallet/transactions_confirmation_and_exchanges_issues

I don't know what to think of this coin

It's a good project, good devs - but it is the time to rise. Smiley Some company support would be amazing.

The price fell a lot, from 500 satoshi to 400 satoshi and now it is sitting in the 300 satoshi, in June sia was in the 600 satoshi ... it was a very big fall and it seems that it is not recovering.

If the BTC will be stable for some time, alts will chase old high prices too. Maybe even new records will be reached Smiley I have big hopes for SIA.

Coins fluctuate on the basis of speculation.
What is the actual plan from devs for the medium term?

It's all in their well thought out roadmap: https://trello.com/b/Io1dDyuI/sia-public-roadmap

What happened with Sia? It drop so hard. More then most of the other coins. I don't get it.

I think the point is to hold coins with med-long term capabilities (ie, tech and devs behind) and not to rush to buy or sell within btc fluctuation

I want it to fall a bit more so I can refill my pocket.

These days I bought more Siacoin.

Want to buy some more sia and probably going to get in at about 290, which seems to be a strong support point.
I believe in the project!

Well you have a good opportunity to buy

It might be up %20 but if you are trading into bitcoin its
difficult because bitcoin hit a high in the last 24 hours of $3333.00

it looks like it can still go higher

For me its not about the value, its about the belief in the project for the long term.

I agree
