First, I like this coin very wel and the concept behind it.

Second, I'm verry dissipointed about the downloads (wallets). Why is it so complicated and not so easy as other wallets why??
I have some SC on poloniex and i wanted to test the wallet. So the first fustrated thing is the website show me this options:
Downloads
121 MBSia-UI-darwin-x64.zip
46.9 MBSia-UI-linux-ia32.tar.gz
47.3 MBSia-UI-linux-x64.tar.gz
50 MBSia-UI-win32-ia32.zip
59.4 MBSia-UI-win32-x64.zip
Source code (zip)
Source code (tar.gz)

WTF give some explanation (short ). I have windows so i downloaded 59.4 MBSia-UI-win32-x64.zip
Secondly, after i downloaded it I started the wallet tested the application. Then I get the message to upgrade my wallet version?Huh? An how, why I cant push only one putton and it upgrade itself like other wallets. No this button send me to the website again and then I think maybe i need to download 121 MBSia-UI-darwin-x64.zip of 121 mb. So I downloaded it and came no step further, I mean wtf is darwin??

Another issue is i decided to use the first downloaded wallet. So I created a new wallet and stored my password. For god sake I sended only 10 siacoins to test the wallet. So When i sended my coins i cut my sia folder and pasted it elsewhere on my computer. What's next?? The wallet gives me an bug and open itself 20 times without opening full. So i decided to download the wallet again. And the problem here is I wanted to unlock my first wallet adres so I put my old passowrd in. Guesse what It doesnt accept it. WTF??

Al in all it's foking to complicated, please make the use of this applications like the wallets so easy as hell for ur clients if u want to be succesfull. Believe me i like the concept behind it but I rather let my coins on poloniex than taking a risk to send them to the onprofessional wallet of urs and lose my coins because its to complicated.

For now I stay with my  poloniex wallet and store them safe there, but pleasse fix those issues fast because I'm not the only one I guesse who find it to complicated. The downloads, the upgrades, the passwords, the bugs, the discriptions.

Keep up the good work I trust this concept will arise!

You can make backup all blockchain and it is stored in appdata/roaming/sia folder.

That is incorrect. I struck it out just so no one mistakenly follows it.

The contents in the roaming folder are unrelated to Sia and are Electron files to speed up operation of the UI.

If you intend to backup your data it is all stored in the same folder you installed Sia in a series of folders at either:

install-dir/siad.exe
install-dir/siac.exe
install-dir/wallet/ (Contains wallet.json)
install-dir/consensus/ (Contains blockchain)
install-dir/gateway/
install-dir/host/ (Contains any hosting contracts you may have)
install-dir/renter/ (Contains .sia files to retrieve your uploads)

or

install-dir/sia-ui.exe
install-dir/resources/app/siad.exe
install-dir/resources/app/siac.exe
install-dir/resources/app/wallet/ (Contains wallet.json)
install-dir/resources/app/consensus/ (Contains blockchain)
install-dir/resources/app/gateway/
install-dir/resources/app/host/ (Contains any hosting contracts you may have)
install-dir/resources/app/renter/ (Contains .sia files to retrieve your uploads)

(I might not have the paths exactly right since this is from memory right now but that's the idea)

Two seeds? What are you talking about? I only have 1 password. (auto generated when creating a wallet, nothing else).

If I paste seed, and by pasting seed, you mean pasting my password, after doing that it asks me for another password, which I do not have... Very confusing.

You have your original wallet seed, right?  Which is your password.  You have that right?   Old Seed.

Then you made a new wallet, in the new wallet, right?  They gave you another password/seed.   You have that right?  New Seed.

Follow the rest of the instructions above.  That said, it only appears to show the transactions that have taken place, the actual funds in the wallet don't appear to come over, not sure why that is.

He may have hastily clicked away without noticing the new seed. I honestly don't bother with the import function. I just take the entire backed up wallet folder from the old wallet (\resources\app\Sia) and overwrite the new one. May not be the best way, but has worked just fine for me.

ah so it's not in the (\appdata\roaming) file. where is the blockchain stored? somewhere in the \resources folder?

just wondering if I should back up the whole \resource folder or just the wallet section?

Could someone please inform me, I want to backup my sia wallet but there is no backup wallet button in the SIA UI... Why not? That's pretty confusing and a nuisance and it shows a lack of thoroughness on behalf of the DEVS. Seriously, you people should be ashamed of yourselves, after such hard work, you neglect an easily accessible wallet back up option in your little menu? Are you serious?

This is explained in the SIA FAQ.  You don't need to back-up your wallet.  The password is your wallet.  If you keep the password, went to another PC and installed SIA, the password would provide you with a copy of your wallet information.  Just keep your password in a safe place, and you're all set.

Not true, so I have my password. I redownloaded a copy of the Sia client. There's a button "Create wallet". I click it, dropdown with a few options, which one am I supposed to use? Paste seed seems the only logical thing but that doesn't work with the password, after you paste the seed you have to type another password so that's not it. Please tell me clearly how to do what you say.

You have two seeds.  New seed and old seed.

Choose the option to Load Seed.

Input the old seed.

Then you are prompted for the password.

Input the new seed.

While waiting for the blockchain to catch up, do some exercises.  I suggest some jumping jacks.

of course, you will find your wallet data directly in your sia directory under " /resources/app/sia/wallet " just copy all and save it somewhere.
but be careful if you are mining...

btw...

i have a problem with a older wallet, was not sure if i saved the latest wallet files, now i wanted to check the balances, but the amount is zero.
maybe there is an option to recreate the generated adresses from seed? i have 3 files: "a wallet encryption backup seed" & "wallet.json" & "wallet.log".
in the wallet i have some options to load a old "legacy wallet", to "paste a seed" and to load "a siag key", what are these options in specific (legacy wallet i know)
and what can i do to get the mined coins back?
thanks very much

IMO, we could use some coin control and the ability to dump raw privkeys. I tire of the whole "let's backup the seed using a billion different representations" thing.

It wouldn't be too difficult to code yourself. Encrypted keys on disk are basically a requirement, effective userspace malware is ubiquitous these days. Don't put unencrypted keys in a 'wallet.dat' or 'wallet.json', it's just asking for theft.

I want to dedicate some time to making the wallet + seed UX better, but right now getting the new host+renter protocols online is my absolute priority. We're getting closer every week. We're trying really hard to get the 'rc' for that out by the end of March, seems possible but unlikely. The host just has 1 step left, I'm not sure how much is left for the renter.

forgive my stupidness, but does it mean, my mined coins are not lost?

a lonely answer would be helpful Smiley .

Is there a richlist available?

i really never understand how rich list can help to evaluate coins futures...

 Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

lol, I just want to know how the total supply is divided.

It's not good if for example 5 people hold 70% of the coins
