Wow the new miner is so fast! it's crunching at more than 20 Gh/s per card LoL!
Anyone with the same problem?

havent tried it yet pallas ...

but at that hashrate - ill be on it immediately Wink ... hehehe ...

#crysx

tried with my custom kernel, same crazy reported speed.
I'm wondering if it's mining and just returning a wrong hashrate or if it's making bogus calculations.

i believe it would possibly be the latter - miscalculations ...

if it is going that crazy with hashrate - its probably right ... it is crazy ...

ive stopped mining sia until i can locate the other coins - which wont happen till next week when i get back to the office ...

while taek and the crew are doing a great job updating the wallet and backend - mining seems a hit and miss thing on here ... at least for now ...

and with the advent of the pool / stratum code ( if it comes about soon ) there is bound to be many issues with implementation ... though i REALLY hope im wrong on that point ...

im in this eitherway - but the farm is being utilized in other ways for the moment ... especially while we are updating it ...

Don't rush an update to 0.3.3.3  , I just lost all coins while test sending 10ks to another wallet..  merge didn't help.  update on your own risk.
SIA-UI 3.3.3 W7 64 bit

Did you create a new address in 3.3.3 to receive your sent coins? from old wallet 3.3.2? and be sure to only have 1 wallet open at a time. That was one way I had to do it on 1 pc.

The rest of my upgrades on other PC's went smooth as previously done by simply installing/directory 3.3.3 open and run new client let it up date. Close it.

Then I copied and pasted my Wallet FOLDER from 3.3.2 (with all my coins and addresses) into the new SIA folder and replaced the new wallet that had Been created in 3.3.3. (you can just delete the new wallet or rename like wallet1 first - Do not merge this way ) Launch SIA 3.3.3 and all coins and addresses should be there.

The only reason I had to send coins with the one wallet was I had clicked on the "Update now button"  which is a no no lol

Maybe this will help.  Smiley

I am staying with 0.3.3.1, Taek you should take care of this ASAP. This is unacceptable!

I talked to him on slack, he tried to help, but couldn't , yet he still recommends 0.3.3.3  ...

~1 block in 5 days

0 block in 6 days
1000MH/S
You are so Lucky!

Similar story here... I'm beginning to think the mining is screwed up.

We were actually getting worried too, but the hashrate is doing fine and unlucky people finally started finding blocks. The variance on finding blocks is very large.

There is likely going to be a mining pool in the next few weeks.

come join our slack!

trading, dev chat, etc

http://siatalk-slackin.herokuapp.com/

why is this address so different to the sia slack that i have? ...

i have not signed up through here - as im wary of any 'other' sites that point to it ...

explain why this is so please? ...

#crysx

You normally need someone to send you a slack invite.

This URL automates this process so you can join slack straight away.

o ok ...

so it is a legit link ...

im not implying that it was done as a deliberate redirect or anything ( as it is publicized by a respected member ) ... it was just me being unsure ...

tanx for clarifying ...

Is the Sia-UI v0.3.3.1 still usable? Can I still make transactions with it?

Highly not recommended. A hardforking bug was discovered in the consensus code. Right now you are still okay using 0.3.3.1 but the hardfork could trigger at any time. I strongly recommend that everyone upgrade to 0.3.3.3

Any plans you guys are implementing a stratum compatible mining rpc ?

I'd like to add a pool. Octane uses the same algo, got a pool for that already.

Probably we are not going to be able to. Though, I realized earlier today that it should be pretty simple to make a mining pool for Sia that gives full control of the transaction pool to the actual miner (instead of the mining pool). The miner chooses which blocks to mine and which transactions to put in the blocks, while still being able to get paid for work every few minutes.

It does require all miners to run full nodes, but while Sia is small that's really not an issue.

In short: Sia should have a mining pool released in 0.4.0 (eta 5-8 weeks).

What's the total supply?

was there any presale?

http://explore.siacoin.com/

Right now there are ~295k coins being created per block. Each block has a reward of 1 coin less than the previous block. The minimum block reward is 30k coins per block.

There was no presale but the devs did mine the first 100 blocks (~30M coins). At the current moment, the devs have a combined total of less than 40m coins.
