The concept of the project is really good. Sia also seems to have a high technical content, and continue to work hard to achieve a higher level.

the ASIC's oblesk have out for siacoin (July 2018) and decred (aug/sept 2018) are all likely doorstops now

http://www.innosilicon.com/html/s11-miner/index.html their siacoin miner version

http://www.innosilicon.com/html/d9-miner/index.html their decred miner version

innsilicon has units that are more eff and much bigger hash in the world NOW....thus those who got these obelisk ASIC's of any flavor are dorked

so what does this mean? unless sia-tech 'forks' which is as likely as me being Natalie Portman's love puppet (i wish) ....these will never have to be

take out of the box (keep in the cardboard box for ease of movement as doorstops)

what is worse, is I swapped 5 1/2 off obelisk coupons for 1 middle of sept decred miner...hell, might not be worth turning on, even though it was a free

decred unit, live an learn I guess

but gonna be an 'interesting' network of bitmain units and innsilicon units and others....running the sia-tech 'supposed' network, if they get it up to

speed in time.....the obelisk products themselves will likely not have enough 'punch' to mine for more than a month...assuming they ship on time

them's the breaks I guess

brad

why is the price of SIACOIN not rising? many of the miners released. the complexity of production has grown very much, but the price is not growing. any thoughts on that?

siacoin is only as good as the anonymous decentralized network that the devs are making for cloud storage...The current price (IMHO) is 'speculation' of the coin,

but without the ASIC's and the above network coming together and offering services, as they say, with above-decentralized nature and at 10c to $1 storage rates

of Amazon...the coin won't matter the ASIC's won't matter it will all be moot and siacoin will be useless....without a use you just have a crap load of ASIC's making

siacoin with no real purpose anymore...so their vision of decentralized and anonymous storage has to come into play...or we are just mining air...

or so I see this (better minds then mine can chime in on this)

Sia team doesn’t want to pay thatt much for listing. Better if they keep going on to better product and bug fixes.
Yes due to listing on a large exchange it requires substantial funds. Such a listing on Binance requires no less than $ 500,000 and is very expensive for a new exchange.
Essentially Sia must improve its products to be used by many people and can compete with other cloud storage.

this is a new video from SIACOIN

There is a summary in the video description:
- Statistics about github issues.
- A post about the mining industry by the lead dev of Sia.
- A warning to withdraw funds from Abucoins before June the 1st because it's closing.
- A guide to perform a clean install of Sia-UI.

for me, the main indicator is that the developers do not leave the project and are working on it, this is the main indicator of future growth, I regret that I sold SC few of years ago

well, why the coin is DECREED grow Huh you claim that everything is in the drawdown of altcoins.

OK, nobody here will be able to tell you exactly why a coin is going up or down. Technical analysts could tell you that's the way of the charts, Elliott Wave practitioners could tell you these are just market cycles, others will tell you it's manipulation/accumulation/whatever. It's probably a mix of all this and of a lot of other factors that we don't know of. If people were able to understand why it's going up or down they will all be billionaires ... The only thing we can assess is the fundamentals: What is the coin for? Is the network working? Is the team working? And so on.

Asking why the price of a single coin out of ~1600 is growing doesn't make much sense. Nobody here "claim that everything is in the drawdown of altcoins". I personally said most. If you are failing to see that the whole market is struggling, there isn't much I can do for you.

What happened (for SiaCoin) back in the summer of 2017 and then in January 2018 may not happen again (for a while) or may happen in the next months, nobody knows. It makes no sense looking at other coins and thinking "if I had invested in this instead of this, I would have made this much money" and similar stuff. We all do/did that at some point but there is no way it would have worked the way you think it could have worked, and there is no way you would have taken the same decisions back then. So if you are stuck, it's probably best to hodl unless you know what you are doing and think you can sell now and buy back lower. If you really need the money, I'm afraid you have to sell (with a potential loss). If you invested more than you could afford to lose, that is money that you'd use to pay rent, meals, debt, health care or borrowed money, then this was not very wise, and you just should use it as a lesson for your next investment.

You might be looking for some comfort like "don't worry the price will go up" but no one can give you that kind of comfort because no one knows anything.
until this year, everything was going well, but as bitcoin drew attention, added to the stock exchange, everything changed for the worse. they began to manipulirovat very greedily. I think we won't even see the price of 15,000.

Probably because most cryptocurrencies are having a hard time nowadays.
You made a point! There are no chances for altcoins to rise when Bitcoin down in the last few days. The current trend might last for weeks.
So, in my opinion, it is time for hodl coins, turn computers off, enjoy pinics with families and/ or friends.
That's all at the moment.

Probably because most cryptocurrencies are having a hard time nowadays. When in a down trend, positive developments do not necessarily have much of an effect, unless it's about something that can be perceived as a breakthrough of some kind. Give time to the market to recover in general, to the hashrate to grow and to more features to get implemented. In my opinion, growth of the price of SiaCoin regardless of the whole crypto market isn't realistic.

Well, companies like amazon is looking into using sia as their storage solution as it will be a lot more cost effective, so I think it can

Which companies are you talking about? Either you forgot might, may or maybe, or you need to include some valid source to back up the claim. Thank you.

why are you all silent? where your comments about that, the rate of coins will grow, for this coin the future!))) must be able to priznovatsya lose)) we're fucked. the new asik S11 came out and there is not a coin exchange rate.

What do you wanna hear? Lambo and moon talk? The future isn't tomorrow, next week, next month or next year, it could be the next 5 years. It's pretty simple, if you believe in the potential Sia has, then buy (with money you can afford to not have) and hodl (or trade if you think you have a better chance at that), otherwise, don't buy, and if you hold some and think we're f***ed then just sell (and potentially buy lower or don't).

ASIC game is likely a quick mining party for big mining farms.
Therefore, miners should be very careful when thinking of investing in ASIC (on any algorithm).
Moreover, ASICs are basically less flexible than GPU-mining rigs.

Yeah, I've been ASIC LUCKY since 2013....so I can't complain...I always figured I'd go more than a few ASIC's too far, when the 'non-data hall and only

mnfg of ASICS and their own data halls will reign...

This is how mining went away for scrypt-pow (like btc small miner deaths of sha-256 in 2014)...so it is 'expected'...

So, I've made out like a 'bandit' so can hardly complain I guess on a 4k loss vs IRS and equip deduction on these...even if they NEVER mine

so it goes....the door always 'hits you on the ass' on the way out Smiley

I don't suppose anyone at Obelisk would entertain an idea to 'fork' the algo at this point in time? (I thought not...sigh) Sad

BTW: is there a market yet for SiaFunds?

Bisq but i haven't used.

Bisq doesn't have any volume.

According to siawiki: https://siawiki.tech/wallet/siafund, you can apparently also trade SiaCoin over the counter in their Discord channel #siafunds.
