You people should stop taking advice from ANYONE in this forum.

50% of people here will give you a stupid advice.
30% of people will give you a wrong advice.
10% of people will just spread FUD because they have an agenda. Good or bad.
10% will just troll the shit our of you.

Learn to read the charts. Charts speak loudly. You must not expect overgrowth overnight. We're not able to become filthy rich in 1 week, or even a month, if we don't have -the information-.

People who tell you to buy, they're probably scared that they're gonna lose what they've invested.
People who tell you to sell, are either trolls or people who want to buy more.

I have my own agenda and I'm enjoying this shitfest in this topic.

Please continue.

Hi Community,

I have to be honest with you guys.  I was not immediately happy with the white paper.  After a brief skim I put up the 500k sell wall on Mintpal @ 3400 sat.  I had asked to review the paper ahead of time but was not afforded the opportunity.  I would have suggested a delay to polish it up.

After getting over being slightly annoyed at not getting to review the document ahead of time I gave the document another review.

It is painfully obvious that writing white papers is not the devs strong suit.  Why would you quote wikipedia as a reference ever?

That aside what make me take down the sell wall is that I do believe that the dev has vision.  I don't think expression of that vision is his strong suit, but I did see and share the vision from the first posts I read.

If the team can deliver on this paper Silk Coin will be worth more than bitcoin.  If they can't the coin will be worthless.

I am going to hold... I think they have a shot at this.

This may sound harsh, but I am just giving it straight as I see it.

If you are being honest then I am going to also.

I have lost a lot of respect for you after this post of yours.

To me you were a key community player someone people looked up to and took advice from. Now you have come off as a spoiled kid who didn't get what they wanted so he is gathering up all his stuff and going home.

Ok you didn't get to review the paper, so what? What afforded you the right to even have an expectation to read it ahead of time? You have lots of coins, I don't think that means anything. Unless you are officially part of the team getting access to that info gives you an unfair trading advantage.

Your post came off to me as whining and threatening. "I didn't get what I wanted, so I am going to sell all my coins cheap cause I am mad"

You obviously were concerned about the value of your coins and you seem like an intelligent investor so you would know that putting up a 500k sell wall would only be worse for you. You would have been better served to quietly sell off in chunks and fade off into the distance but instead you had to throw a coin tantrum.

The damage is done, you just gave the FUDers a tanker load of fuel to throw on their fire. Well done.

Frustrated,
Chris

You may not like what I do or what I say and that is entirely your right.  I am comfortable because my statements were honest.

At the point I put up the sell wall I believed it was the best way to sell that amount of coins.  The price was dropping on all three exchanges and my hope was one large investor would take the whole chunk.

Many people ask me in private what I am doing.  Instead of answering individual emails or questions I post my thoughts on the forums.

When I think something is being done right I say it LOUD wherever I can.  When something is wrong I state it just as LOUDLY.  Even stating that I did not read the paper ahead of time was meant to acknowledge a slight first read bias.  Hopefully people can see that I just don't blindly pump the coin.

If I think the coin takes a wrong turn I will say SELL just as loud as I would say BUY.

!ATTENTION!
listen to me
the last two days I see a bunch of garbage in this thread.
basically it came from a couple of bastards
they incite panic, to blunt the holders SC sold them at a cheap price.
moreover, bastards do it in front of growth!
not afraid walls on sale!
it is provocation!
you will be very upset, seeing that the coin is that you have sold cheaply quickly rises, and the main thing - YOU keep on COURSE! IF YOU DO NOT SELL RATE WILL NOT FALL!
!ATTENTION!

DON'T BE STUPID! DO NOT APPLY TO THE PROVOCATION BASTARDS!

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU SEE A POST BASTARD?
- to open the window to cool the room
- to write a post in this thread: "guys, all will be well!"
- press the Ignore button on the post bastard

It is actually quite difficult to tell if the market really is going down or if it is being manipulated. Been looking at these things many times and difficult to tell every time.

It's always the same. When the price goes up, everyone is ready for the moon. When the price goes down, it's manipulation...

Don't count too much on the community. Community is a shit when it comes to money. Someone said it very appropriate:

''I believe in this coin mainly because of the community and the vision. And of course I'm watching pornos mainly because of the sophisticated plot.''

Don't get yourself fooled! Where is DOGE with it's ''great'' community now? Where will it be in 3 months?

Some people may just be a little bit familiar with scientific publications... and even if this is only a whitepaper... it doesn't meet the scientific standards. Considering the fact that the scientific standard is relatively easy to obtain if one is used to it... the conclusion would be that the devs are not familiar in the scientific world...

I don't know which word processing system the dev used... it looks like Word... brrrrr... standard would be TeX. So I can understand if people panic sell...

Thanks for your impression of the format. Could you comment on the content?
Regarding familiarity with convention, do you believe this is important in the world in crypto currencies?

White paper is not a scientific document, it originated in government and law and is more commonly used in marketing in current times.

Well just look at the indents of the headlines or at the empty lines beneath it... there is no system at all. I believe that trust in the dev is important. This whitepaper looks a little sloppy - that's all what I wanted to say. I did not want to create FUD ... I hope it will be regarded as constructive criticism. Maybe there was time pressure - well nobody cares about that - that's life.

Whitepaper is no scientific document that's right... but on the other hand informatics is teached at universities. And I think a high standard would help crypto to gain reputation in general. As it is now I never know if there is a professional being behind a paper or some highschool kids. Although highschool kids may be the most creative people... difficult to judge. Notable exception would be XC.

Regarding the content: I'm not competent enough to judge this  Smiley

I actually completely agree with you. I also feel prefer a professional looking format and attention to detail (spelling etc).
I suspect you have academic background and that you are familiar with the difficulties of academic publishing.

On the other hand, I don't really want my silkcoin devs to spend their time trying to live up to the expectations of the academic establishment. It seems to me they have a vision and that their talent lies in coding and seeing the possibilities and power of the blockchain.
If they can actually find a way to build a social network on the blockchain in a usable format, that would be immense.

I suspect there was time pressure. They have been working hard to get everything out as they promised and for me personally it inspires great trust.
Even having half a document today is much better than having no document today.

On the other hand, I also don't think they need to rush this. The market creates false expectations but what people need to remember is that there are quite a few people playing games with the exchanges. They might feel under pressure to try and keep the price buoyed up with new releases, but the price will follow the invention. If they keep calm and steady and carry on with their plan, Silkcoin will be successful.

(Also devs thanks for getting it proofread, as you can see there are harsh critics out there!)

Many people tend to forget the rules of the market in my opinion. I expected this drop. Chart doesn't look too good. Silkcoin will have some hard weeks from now on, I think. The release of the ecosystem could be a turning point... but don't be too sure about it. Many competitors are out there...
There is too much euphoric hype and too much blind FUD... on the other hand - this is what we all (hopefully) make our money with, don't we?  Wink

@Judge: I don't think, that Silk will reach Bitcoin's level. And the concept is not so new... look at NXT for example. I remember Evan from DRK saying: ''Who wants to compete with us?'' This was about one month ago. Now there are many coins ready to overtake DRK, although it may take some time.

@Silkcoin: I appreciate your work and even more your vision guys! It is my vision as well. But it's a war out there. I hope you will be victorious in some way!

Waiting game lol - some traders try to sell but nobody whant to buy - and some want to buy but nobody want to sell.  The gap is huge, my best guess is the white paper will push the price up - hopefully enought to create a fun rally.

I pulled out all my sell orders (was the one playing with 50k or 100k orders).

No more resistance folks - pull out your sell orders too, lets help me creating a huuuuuuuuge green candle, to attract new traders in the game !

Agree.  Pull all sell orders.  Unite as community.

It would be nice if we could just have everyone sell a little higher for a while and stop trying to collect more coins. Likewise, I don't think everyone that has sell orders on the exchanges uses this thread to make trading decisions. That being said (and will say it again), you need to have buying and selling. This is a fact in any commodity systems. It's how it works. You know, you can hold and trade. It's not unhealthy to doing it within good trading parameters will allow the coin to grow. When you see Judge Crypto come in a tout "I place those walls" -- I get a little irritated at his arrogance, but meh, that is how he operates and you cannot change that logic, it's simple human nature. What you can do is refrain from panic and stay with your plans. Hold and stake, trade on opportunity and don't get sucked down a rabbit hole. You know the foundation here is clean, ride the wave, enjoy the growth, cover your head during the shit storm. That's my philosophical trading view outside of using this coin as an actual currency some day.

I have not bought anymore.  At this point I have slightly more than 1% of all coins.  Like I said this could be bigger than Bitcoin.  At that rate 500k would be enough for me. Wink

Judge, if I behave myself can I come on your yacht one day please?

Yes... when this takes off I will have a HUGE party! Smiley

Judge I understand your point of view, as I said this is to expose the theory to the community, the paper will be polished.
I think it was time the community knew what we planned for the future, could not wait another week with all that FUD going on.

Also yes, we are not used to academic publishing, and we tried to explain our vision the best way we could with the little time we had available. Development of the system is already quite advanced, this paper was mainly to explain to the community what we were doing since beta phase will come soon.

Next revision on friday will be way more polished as we are already getting inputs from the community.

I am holding because you are a visionary and from everything I have seen a good person.  If you can deliver on your vision then you will make me and many others here very rich! As always I try to be pretty straight up about where I am at.

OK. You can't be serious about that one... Smiley What could possibly be wrong with a link to the Kademlia page on WikiPedia? What should it be linked to? I was not familiar with the term and appreciated the reference.

In this instance I don't see anything wrong with referencing the Kademlia page.

Devs: don't be shy to use your community if you need to outsource anything.
You can delegate peripheral things that don't really matter in the long run (like the format of the whitepaper for example).

Actually, now that I think about it, there is no reason somebody with the expertise couldn't reformat the paper to their liking.
You guys still have to do all the important stuff, like build the platform so we can play!

Thanks for the release of the whitepaper today and for staying calm and consistent.

Thanks was not trying to make it seem like a snippy question, but understand that most people who try to move a coin one way or another seem to do so for a short term personal gain, your thoughts on the white paper are valued, but I would say its always better to contact the source and ask questions rather then knee jerk reactions, you seem like a smart guy/gal.  I wont complain I made this a buying opp because I like many see a vision here, but I agree with the Dev with all the FUD that was going around, a quick injection of future plans polished or not added credit and value to the over all project.

It really depends. Pumps can be good as well, if you know why you shouldn't dump.
DRK has been pumped so many times, but it's still there. Even there are 50% of existing coins premined or instamined.
