New miners looking to collect some coins will most probably go elsewhere once they discover the listed pools aren't working.
Considering that we are still a fairly non-desirable coin we need all the help we can get..!

If its been a day or two for posting anyone can message me at SpartanCoin DevTeam on skype.

At the moment the updates are still the same. I have installed the first android wallet for spartancoin and can say that is working. next portion to the wallet is making the interface changes and adding the social network integrations inside the wallet. Once that is complete (of which is scheduled for the 28th) its just down to fine tuning the little things as I go through the entire app. The website seems to be moving slower than I want. I will get an update for you guys on that. PoW/PoS from last I posted here was going into testnet and havent heard from the dev on that one in a few days, so I cannot update just yet. I do appreciate the patience, I too mine spartancoin so I  feel you on the electric bills. My success is our success. I have put many hours into it and will continue to invest many many more. We are in a growing phase, tools obviously need to be in place for anything major to occur. Once we are there we wont ever look back. more people will jump on with their own tools as well to participate in the community. I think those capable are waiting on me and those working on the project along side me.

Another note. I have prices for the promo opportunity coming in august. I will get the pricing details together so anyone who can contribute to this it will benefit us all in the long haul. give me a day or two on that as I prefer to present it professionally rather than slap some text here on the forum.

Just be nice to keep us all informed on the progress etc.

Better to take the time and give SPARTANCOIN a great future than rush and have a short live.
 

I think the first question you need to ask is what are you trying to accomplish?  If you're looking for a short term pop in the price, then you could probably add a feature or two like anonymity, and you might get that.  If you're trying to create a coin that has value and will stand the test of time, then you need to create something that either competes with or complements bitcoin.

Obviously, there are many technical ways to improve upon bitcoin.  Although I don't care much about it myself, anonymity has been popular lately, as you said.

I think very fast transactions are important.  I think it would be very beneficial if we could figure out a way to get a confirmation within a few seconds like with credit cards.  The tricky thing here is that block times of less than 30 seconds don't work very well.

I think ASIC resistance is important.  Otherwise you end up with centralization and exclude the little guys from mining (note that I'm biased here as I'm one of the little guys), which is one of the things that draws some people, like myself, into cryptocurrencies--it's a lot of fun.

I think it's important to have some kind of mechanism that ensures your coins go where you intend.  I'm always concerned that I'll send my coins into oblivion.  Maybe some kind of pre-confirmation system could be implemented as an option for transactions.  You set up a transaction in your wallet which contacts the destination wallet, letting it know you're about to send coins.  The owner of the destination wallet could let you know that you're successfully connecting with it, at which point you could safely send your coins.  For example, if you're sending to an exchange, when you set up the transaction, the exchange could let you know you have the right address via their website.

I like the idea of improving Spartan Coin, but, unfortunately, I'm guessing that these things would take a lot of time and effort to add.

All the rage right now is the anon feature. All coins with this feature seem to rocket at the moment. We need something original or at least a feature that people want and is sought after in today's market. We need to stand out as not being like most other coins. Any thoughts?

Along with the latest wallet, you may need to add a spartancoin.conf file.  This is what I have in mine, which allows me to sync just fine:

rpcuser=
rpcpassword=
rpcport=55883
maxconnection=100
server=1

addnode=54.186.126.94
addnode=54.186.242.36
addnode=54.186.245.111

I'm not great with .conf files, so some of those lines may be superfluous, but those should at least work.  They also allow me to solo-mine if I so choose.

I am holding my 6 million Spartans since IPO not sold one..How do i sync my wallet though it was stuck I reinstalled my computer and and backed up my wallet.dat do i just download new latest wallet will it sync then?
