What is or was the Price of the SP31? I have been going back and forth with SP-Tech Sales, however I cannot seem to get the answer to the only question I care about.

So frustrating Sad

I realize there is a huge time gap so I have tried to be patient however its been over a week and all I need to know to decide is what the price of the unit is.

I should add I want to know the price to see if I want to use a coupon or a refund.

There are no Sp-31 on sale anyway, so why this matters. Choosing coupon vs refund time has passed as well AFAIK.

Incorrect, they are telling me I have the choice to use a coupon on an SP-31 and that they are held for refund customers, however I have now asked 5 times what the price is and cannot get an answer. The price matters because I need to see how much I want to spend and if the maybe the cash refund is more useful to me at this point.

While I wait for tech support to get back online, has anyone had a SP10 just not want to start up?

The symptoms are that it will not stay powered on. It will not even get to the point where is pulls a DHCP address so that we can access it. It will initially power up but then it will turn itself back off.  I have no ethernet or fans. We tried different power cables and power ports on the pdu.

Does it sound like a bad PSU or a MMC corruption?

So just in case anyone else has a similar problem in the future, or if anyone has had it in the past, I'll update.

To summarise, SP10 that had been hashing at SP-Tech for a few months arrived at my colo, with the above symptoms.

Things that have been suggested to try are swapping the PSU with a working one (luckily I have a SP10 I can swap with), and doing the SD-recover following the instructions from here: http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/blogs/technical-blog/13098521-sp10-sp30-recovery-sd-card-boot-sd-card-creation-instructions

Will update more as I get more down the remote troubleshooting on Monday, in the meantime if anyone has had a similar symptoms and has a quick fix suggestion I'm all eyes Smiley

Cheers

interesting.

yet i failed to locate the part regarding the 9 'blinks' of the yellow led (sometimes referred to as orange)

care to just spit it out and save us all some time??

btw - i did restart it and it stopped flashing 9 times though it did keep it up for 3 hrs before i bothered...

i noticed both the 2 flash and 13 flash on rebooting... yawn, what a waste of time asking

still no further illuminated...

The led is an indication on the different stages of boot.
This is indication for people who can read the init.d script and familiar with Linux boot.
If you configure the miner it should be green and mining.

please provide the link that took literally 15 seconds to find - nevermind, found in the blogs and not the FAQ... how quaint.

please clarify 'yellow light blinks'

2 blinks means =  usually means the miner is up but configured not to mine ("stop mining") (Zvisha)
9 blinks means =
13 blinks means =

Different boot stages. Go over the init.d, it' all there.

im sorry, i do not understand this 'init.d'  reply.

can you just explain or provide a link?

Oh boy here we go again.  Look every one,  it is the “senior member” EDGAR show again. You will always find some insipid calamity laden dunce who thinks spending a few thousand dollars on something is the greatest thing they have ever done in the world. Then they’ll sit there snivelling and repeatedly blinking making like oh woe be me, I press the on button and it does nothing, it just sits there. Why does it not leap onto to something, Why oh why does it not do that. It says on does it not. It remains on nothing. Please help me.

Can Spondoolies perhaps create a simple aptitude test prior to the check out cart? “ dear gentle customer in order to buy our product please ensure you are capable to do so. Kindly answer the following question: what is 1 + 1 ?”

Thank You.

Lots of Love,

Spondoolies Tech.

i am in no way flummoxed or concerned or indeed handicapped wrt mining.

in the interest of awareness, i would like to to know if there is a specific answer or otherwise.

i will not lose sleep over it nor apparently much if any GH/s

but many thanks for your contribution, we've all learned from its depth.

just restart your miner then, the problem should go away, easy as that.

Someone will possibly be able to tell you the meaning of the yellow led afterwards.

Edit:
This took literally 15 seconds to find:

- Yellow light blinks when machine not idle.

Therefore your machine seems to think that it is not idle. If that is correct, be happy. If not, do a restart.

What is blinking yellow, the PSU?

Have you tried the almighty restart yet?

You do know that you could be pulling more than 13A on the lead when running it at 120V?

the yellow led above the green one...

i have not, as i am more interested in understanding the meaning of the led sequence than anything else...at the moment. as i stated a few hours ago, i reset the max watts so it could 'relearn' its limit/s.

i do, however im not - 220-230V here.

any idea wrt the yellow led... the one thats flashing on the front of the rig? 9 times...?

thx.

Which miner are you using?
Also which lead melted internal or external?

just had a power lead begin to melt.

swapped for a better one, reset max watts. now im seeing the yellow led flashing 9 times - everything else seems in order.

ive look through this thread & the FAQs - cant find any reference to it

who can reveal the messages from these leds??

SP30

external (C13) cable that goes from wall to extension...

it was considerably thicker than the one i replaced it with (& its partner) which is rated higher (13A) and has a fuse in the plug unlike its predecessor and partner (though that may change when i locate another UK (C13) lead)

however, my concern is the yellow LED and its somewhat hidden meanings.

any user guide/info ??

Each of the 4 PCIe connector power 2 RockerBox ASICs, independently. Power diode from each power the management board. In theory, one PCIe connector is enough to run SP20 at 1/4 speed.
Make sure the PSU PCIe connectors can handle 300 Watt.

So if you put an ohm meter across the 12V of one PCI-E and the ground of another, you're saying there won't be any signal back? They're absolutely independent? How were you proposing to put a third PCI-E port on the boards?
Absolutely independent. I wasn't purposing a third PCI-E port on the boards. If we'll see a need, it can be implemented, for example PCI-E port per ASIC (total 8, 4 per board)
