I personally do not get all the FUD directed at SPtech. Anyone with calculator can figure out what is or isn't a good deal. I got a decent deal. Hopeful August delivery is on time. I have faith that SPtech will do what they have promised.

It's not FUD it's just bad business to go with preorders and inflated website pricing.

If finally SP Tech delivers on time, then they will really be far ahead with the SP30.

There is nothing to compare with it.

No I mean 8 thousand 9 hundred and ninety-one dollars. Did I buy BTC to pay for my unit? Did I buy BTC in 2012? Let us just say I am ok with the 9K I spent not the 20 BTC you think I spent.

I shopped for a GOOD deal on the Group Buy threads found a great deal... do you need to? I didn't say that I am just sharing what I did.

Jimmy... seriously if you don't like my good news that is ok... but rewording or skewing what I post doesn't really detract from the good deal I got. What can you get now? I don't know let me know.

I guess you forgot your own praise for me getting 12 TH/s for 9K. Well ok I guess you are sad about AM shares. I guess that must be it. I personally do not get all the FUD directed at SPtech. If they deliver as promised then I am ok with my 9K invested being set up in Norway hashing away as part of the hosting / pool etc we are setting up there as our first node. Not the only iron I have in the fire Jimmy. I am not sad if SPTech does well like you seem to be and that shill like behavior smells a bit to me. Why all the hate?

I fail to understand how losing btc due to preorders is good news.

How can you bash BFL when literally every single person who preordered their 65nm hardware made a profit in fiat? Some even reached a positive ROI in btc.

Welcome back! Just in time to celebrate the AM shares going down to the original values.

AM shares at initial levels? Ouch.

Strange, I haven't seen Jim here for a while.

I think that there is a bet, still running, right?

Nice summoning him.

$8,991.00 for August Delivery. 12 Th/s.

You mean 20 btc?

Seems fine to me should make back what I paid. Ordered May 03, 2014. Just have to shop smart for the Group Buys.

You don't even need to shop for special group buys forum exclusive sales.

You could always just order in stock hardware from bitmain or btcgarden as you know they won't be ripping you off when you order directly from the site.

I just wonder how they can do this:

The claim is this:

Using smarter code, and better physical design, he explained.

“I have a non-standard implementation of SHA-256 [the cryptographic software algorithm used by the Bitcoin protocol], as well as a very good physical implementation of the engine on the ASIC,” said Corem.

One thing he claims to have done is reduce the ‘toggle rate’ of the chips – meaning the number of times that the tiny electrical components have to switch electrical state.

If they deliver as promised, I guess it's true.

http://www.coindesk.com/spondoolies-tech-promises-power-efficient-mining/

Its worth remembering that Bitfury made a 55nm chip capable of 1w/GH and about 2.5gh/chip.  The 55nm rev. 2 improved the hashrate by about 15% without any increase in power draw.

smart chip design does a lot, as does choosing how to run the chip (Bitmain 55nm can use between 2w/GH and 1w/Gh depending on clockspeed and voltage). There are multiple ways to design a chip to hash SHA256, and I firmly believe that spondoolies-tech has designed a very capable ship based on the SP10's efficiency

my guess is the sp30 will deliver the good in terms of watts.  I have always thought they sell great gear.  The preorder time makes them a very tough purchase.

Yeah, my guestimate is first sp30s by end of this week (earliest).

@spondoolies

Will the WA DC units be shipped to WA immediatly, or will there be a few days hosting in Israel for testing purposes?

@spondoolies
Are the chips already in hand?
We're getting the ASICs on Tuesday

Posted just yesterday. SP30's still on track to be shipped by August for my units.

the s30 will not hash for you for at least 45 days.  it should not be compared to anything at all.

Countdown Clock Started.

I will post my 2 x SP30 units hashing away in Norway when it happens.
Let us see if they make it to the Data Center there in Sogne, Norway in less than 45 days.

I have a sneaking suspicion they will.

Where do these units ship from?  Do you know if they are duty free to the usa?

They are tax exempt to import to US. Shipping from Israel.

Hi guys,

Have been following the different manufacturers in mining equipment.  I just wonder how they can do this:

Consider:
Cointerra --- 28nm chips x 16, can only produce 100GHS per chip and machinewise 1600GHS, and use 1.3W/GHS
Antminer S3 --- 28nm chips x 32, can only produce ~15GHS per chip and machinewise ~450GHS, and use ~0.78W/GHS
Spondoolies --- 28nm chips x 30, can produce 200GHS per chip and machinewise 6000GHs???, and use <0.5W/GHS???

I know Cointerra is kinda crapy, but the "Cointerra vs Antminer" comparison makes sense, Cointerra use higher frequency per chip thus more GHS per chip, but less power efficient.  vise versa.  And indeed both these products exists, but both delivered under-spec, suggesting that the industry struggled in further pushing the 28nm chips to higher performance ... 28nm chip has more or less reached the limit (i.e. overclock setting: 100GHS with 1.3W/GHS, or underclock setting: 15GHS with 0.78W/GHS).

Now the "Cointerra vs Spondoolies" and "Antminer vs Spondoolies" comparisons doesn't make sense.  Spon got both chipwise and powerwise more efficient than both Antminer and Cointerra ... that doesn't sound right ... has any of this product been shipped yet?

you do realize the 3 chips are all different?

also the s-3 should not be compared to either unit.  the s-3 is a small unit in physical size . it can be scattered about your home.  it can be under clocked.  it is pretty quiet .. the coin terra gear and the sp30 are big pull a lot of power on 1 circuit . they are loud much better gear for use in a data center.

the s30 will not hash for you for at least 45 days.  it should not be compared to anything at all.

the s30 is being built in a country that has been  under missile attack for the last two weeks.

the s30 in hand mining today would beat everyone!  but it is not in hand.

my s-3's are mining right now.  they will be roi by some time in sept due to my lower power cost (only can run 2 this way)

I would have loved to purchase a s10 back in april went with a dragon miner. i just did a fiat roi with it this week.

+1.01 ... Grin

NOT comparable at all...Apples and bananas...in different time and space...Capisco... Huh

ZiG

EDIT...; ...Spondoolies-Tech got their S30 SUPER...on paper for now...Don'y get me wrong, I think they are GREAT Company...but until they start shipping...from stock...They got nothing...for now... Wink
