So the Best $/GH is now bunk, when we get actual power specs in 2 weeks will you FINALLY stop spamming the forum with this misleading title?

Maybe "SP-T's the best looking, loudest, miner available in September"

You know so you do not look like your misleading people...  Wink

Personal text my ass....
9 BTC for 6TH/s in mid-July or 8.4 BTC for 6TH/s in mid-september..  hmm tough one...  NOT

Sorry SP30 going to need to dump a few grand before this is a deal.

They'll get them all sold, newbies just willing so spend money thinking big rewards.

As unlikely as it is for the August and Sept. SP30 to ROI in BTC, the S3 is unlikely to ROI in BTC at its current price of .74 BTC either.

I don´t know why you are comparing the S3 to the sp30, but my view was:

Quote
Bitmains S3 is basically the competitor to the sp10.

As such the S3 is basically more power efficient, cheaper per GH but needs more space.

Space however isn´t nearly the limit as most high density facilities can´t handle a full sp10 rack anyway (~40kW).

Using 140mm fans makes them more home-user friendly aswell.

I am also more than certain that bitmain will come up with an S4 product with ~0.5W/GH.
If this happens in due time, they will probably offer a cheaper price as their production costs are much lower than spondoolies` and they are selling at much higher volume (for now).

Let´s see whether spondoolies will be able to increase their volume (I see no reason why they shouldn´t, as their 28nm chip will likely be very good).

Theres no reason to buy an s30 now unless you are already locked into a preorder with the s3 out  a month of extra hash time could be the difference between ROI and not ROI'ing.

Bitmain has really turned this game on its head and you can bet they are also hashing with their own s3's too

Back in Israel. Always nice to see my favorite AM SH lurking in our thread.
Anyway, SP30 sales are good. Can't say the same about AM stock.
Any dividends yet ?

Going to sleep a bit, rough flight.

@spondoolies:
Have you gotten any information about the maximum performance of the ordered PSUs?
I assume they have a little less headroom than the ~+20% of the sp10s PSUs?

Both PSUs (Murata and Emerson) tested successfully at 1400W under 220V.
We will draw ~1350W from them to leave us some margins.

The final results will depend on system behavior of course. The above are estimations.

aha! i misread. that's what you get when you spend a day with two lovely sisters and fill up on good food and posh beer.
Yes, it is a viable competitor to the SP10 but I'd still rather 1 x sp10 than 3 x S3 (which don't come with PSU) I have, however ordered a couple of S3's for a friend who has no bitcoin available to buy them (another chink in the armour of bitmain - they only accept BTC as payment - and as a rule, I don't pay BTC for any of my own rigs)

I'll have a play with them and see if they are any good when he sets them up. I'll wait him offering me a swap for my SP10. not gonna happen lol  Grin

I think the S3 is just meant as an intermediary solution until release of their actual S4 product, much like the sp10 was only meant as an intermediary until the sp30.

I could be wrong on this, as to my understanding they sold TONS of S1s last year / this year, and I do not know how many rackmountable miners were sold.

The S1 was not an intermediary solution to the S2 (wasn't even more efficient than an undervolted S1). The S2 was just a more compact, datacenter-friendly solution whereas the S1 was geared more towards home miners.
