I collect coins and tokens. HODL!
:(Hello everyone.
I tried to download my SPR coins to the wallet I downloaded from the official website.

I have a macbook. I opened the wallet and says OUT OF SYNC.
As per instructions they suggested me to send a little amount of SPR coins (1 or 2) to the wallet.

Still waiting. Should I do something in particular?
Thanks

you have to wait for the wallet to update to the current block.
you will then see your coins.
it will take a few days to update.

Hi All,

My wallet windows couldn't open after loading wallet.. loading address message.
Only taskbar activate. How to solve it? Cry

Tried to delete all AppData and run a wallet again. It won't work.

https://www.uppic.org/image-544B_59CC50D0.jpg

This might happen if you opened the wallet on a notebook with multiple displays attached and then try to run it on the notebook without any attached display.
To solve, just attach the former display again to the notebook.

I've been following this thread silently for years. For the last 2 years, Georgem gives promises and nothing changes... I've also seen some accusation about Georgem being Mr. Spread himself. When we will see real development rather than Georgem's screenshots?

after this accusation, the price down:)

"Eventually, most nodes may be run by specialists."
Satoshi, April 2009

A quick sneak peak of how the new website & Ann thread will look like, and what kind of design elements they will include:

I will use a lot of such animations to visualize every aspect of spreadcoin and its servicenodes.
(they won't be GIFs when finalized but javascript driven realtime animations, but I will have to use GIFs for the ann thread here.)

PS: those simulations are not very accurate and are only here for visualisation purposes.
This grpah looks sick.

So nodes will be present with this coin? How many coins for 1 node? What are the payouts of each node?

The sole SPR developer, Georgem, has effectively abandoned the idea of ServiceNodes, there has never been any evidence or sign of any development on the infrastructure required. The only evidence I've ever seen of Georgem's work is UI/UX primarily revolving around things that look super duper awesome. We've never witnessed one bit of backend work, prototypes, examples, etc. The man bought dozens of Raspberri Pi's to build a test network instead of using VMs, wasting months on cutting acrylic and making a super awesome home hardware setup instead of spinning up everything he needs in 20 minutes for 1/100th the cost. He is not an effective developer in any sense of the word, I honestly believe he's just a guy who knows frontend JavaScript and buys into his own lies. This coin under georgem's leadership has never been anything but a walled-off, smoke and mirrors, likely vaporware of a project. He considers investors and public commentary a burden, your interest in this coin makes you a cockroach because you're only in it for yourself, etc.

Don't get your hopes up. Come over to Helium which is welcoming all SPR holders with a 1:1 issuance of brand new HLM tokens when they go live. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809278.960  You will need 1000 HLM for an SPR MasterNode, and sometime down the line ServiceNodes will be live but we still don't know the exact collateral requirements, that will be decided in time. So, if you hold 1000 SPR at the time of the blockchain snapshot for HLM, you will get 1000 HLM and have enough for a node.

Mr Spread...
Spreadcoin's Satoshi...  gone but not forgotten!

coins generously suggested “Graham” as the label for the initial release of the Helium client as some sort of recognition of the midwifery role I'm playing. I demurred and returned serve with a crushing “Nah, hasta be ‘Mr. Spread’, dunnit?” And so “Mr Spread” it will be. For all the reasons implicit in your observation.

Cheers

I've also seen some accusation about Georgem being Mr. Spread himself.

I've not, else I'd help people disabuse themselves of that misperception. I've interacted with both, on technical matters, and I am certain that Mr Spread and georgem are two very different people.

Cheers

yeah ok i know... double click an icon and and going to bed and  letting wallet sync for a few hours is a pita.......

I agree. Far, far too much to ask, hence the nightly milling of https://minkiz.co/noodlings/spr/bootstrap.dat.xz

Unfortunately the majority of users are obviously purists as they exhibit disdain for such inessentials as bootstrap.dat, choosing instead to tough it out on first principles, syncing from the network. One cannot help but stand back and admire such personal sacrifice of time and effort, even if it is rather pointless. People do like to suffer, I've found, especially when they think they ought to.

so can i keep my coin on bittrex or do i put it in my spreadcoin wallet to get helium?
thanks.

If your SPR are in your wallet, you can be completely sure that you will get your Helium. If they are in Bittrex' wallet you cannot be completely sure.

Cheers

Graham

Thanks for the answer and I understand that but does anyone have an answer to my question?
Can I leave my coins on bittrex and get my helium?
I would rather not sync my wallet, it would be easier to leave coins on exchange.
Thanks!

bittrex could end up holding a ton of helium and that would not be good for the initial distribution of this project.

I wonder if Bittrex have calculated that they'd make far more money by exploiting their customers' ignorance/inattention than from the fees they'd charge to perform the swap.

Stop whining already and read previous posts.
You DON'T need to sync, don't even need to open your wallet if you withdraw from exchange.
You only need to sync if you want to have a complete copy of the chain or/and check your balance manually.

EDIT: by manually I mean not using an explorer online

ok. you don't have to bite my head off.

thanks for the reply.

Although this question is quite important because otherwise bittrex could end up holding a ton of helium and that would not be good for the initial distribution of this project.

You don't ideally want an exchange holding vast percentages of a new project themselves.
