Do you consider changing of the algo..
There are so many turned off old sha256 ASICs out there..

Mining via VGA is so old-school.

VGA, lol...

No, we are never going to change the mining algo.

ASIC will always be turned off... even if you can run them for another few months... they will be turned off again.

It's like reanimating a dead corpse and see it nervously shake for a little.

ASICs are just not built for eternity, but you can always use your "VGA" for other things.

agreed ... hence the reason our farm continues to grow every month ...

almost any algo - almost any new miner ...

asic's just cant make the cut when they get old ... we have seen way too many asic graveyards - which made our minds up a while back what needed to be done ...

even if the algo was to change - it would just be improved upon - not replaced ...

#crysx

OK. Enough hints - what's the farm size?

I don't like fixed count of masternodes.
It would lead to more centralized ownership.. sooner or later..

I agree.

That's what I am going to implement soon:

Attention.

Forum will be closed for a few days. We are going to move to a better server and implement better anti-spam measures. Stay tuned.

New server will also run spreadcoin.info on it, and act as a dns seeder.  Smiley

Just a little bit more patience guys, it will pay off!

that will be great georgem ...

sick and tired of sifting through all the spam to get to the good news ...

well put ...

it may be worth the bet ...

the real question is - how much is it worth to bet on spr ...

just how much indeed ...

#crysx

Lets see,

Only got 1 BTC? I'd say 0.05 - 0.1 BTC invested in SPR.

Got 10? 0.5 - 1 BTC worth?

one tenth of the stock holding ...

sounds good ...

we mined most of ours - and are on bittrex currently ...

the farm is put elsewhere now - so mining has stopped but the trade hasnt Smiley ...

but your calculations are worthy of keeping a small amount ...

#crysx

Thanks for the liquidity for newcomers  Wink

not an issue Cheesy ...

if the farm was larger - we would be mining 24 / 7 for spr ...

soon - soon ... Wink ...

Sorry guys I have been away a few days with family... so I missed all the good stuff here.

Awesome work everybody.
I like how it all comes together...

Please join me in the discussion about DRAFT for new ANN thread / Website

So when the new ANN drops, so will the new MN network?

You always need a bit of luck, but with a team like this and a project that is new to market, you can make your own luck and force the competition to respond to you.

With a ServiceNode offering, we will be a very low cost operator - possibly the lowest cost operator if we keep processes away from excessive human intervention and create systems that reduce compliance costs.

Try competing on price with them apples.

Luck is mainly for gambling. We are creating and investing. Two very different things.

Hey Stonehedge - Welcome to the team  Smiley

Decentralize Everything
I'm certainly looking to build a bag.  (off exchange offers welcomed Wink )

Probably the riskiest punt I'll take in crypto outside of a gambling site but the potential of the masternodes hasn't passed me by.  DRK/Dash clone this is not.

===============SPREADCOIN PROGRESS REPORT 09/04/2015===============

From an investor prospective.

Spreadcoin is risky!

Current marketcap of around $16,000-$18,000, 2,000,000 SPR in circulation, making each SPR worth around 0.007c.

1 BTC invested will bring you around 23,000SPR, looking at bittrex orderbooks.

MrSpread is gone. A few of the community members have voluntarily agreed to take on the role as SPR's new dev team, the community accepted this quite well.

The future of SPR is uncertain.

Before MrSpread vanished he created an amazing variation of eduffield's (DASH) masternode network.
It consisted of only 1440 masternodes, a unique voting system in which only 1440 MN's could be on the network, meaning if your MN scored poorly (Due to low amount of SPR or bad communication with the network) you will be kicked from the list and a more stable better collateralized MN would be inserted.

In testnet, the MN network seemed to work.
Then MrSpread left? Maybe because the "no pool" future wasn't as fool proof as he thought.

Not much has really happened in the 6-8 weeks of MrSpreads disappearance.

Georgem has recreated the windows qt wallet from scratch and is working on the other wallets.
He's also working on the website and mods spreadcointalk.org.
If i'm not mistaken ,georgem will also be working on the MN code.
Alot of time, alot of work. Will it take months to release MN's for testing?
If so we are going to see price volatility(up and down) from current price levels as investors get uneasy about how much time is being taken to release the network.

So the question is, will the new dev team manage to re-rail Spreadcoin, consolidate issues like (website, blockex)? Can they tweak the code MrSpread left and release the MN network, within a reasonable time period?

Worth a bet IMO.

Great story about micro loans:

http://cointelegraph.com/news/113946/now-you-can-take-out-bitcoin-micro-loans-on-reddit

I read a research paper a few years back that people in third world countries take the repayment of small micro loans so very seriously that there are hardly any defaults.

It was a paper published by the world bank, if you want to ask auntie Google.

Hey there, I followed Nvidia mining instructions. Miner working, but I only see hashes, my .bat file is as follows (as instructed in guide)

Code:
spreadminer -o http://127.0.0.1:41677 -u rpcuser -p rpcpass

And yes, my wallet is encrypted. Am I actually mining?

Yes. If you see the miner hashing - you are mining.
