It looks like Torrent to URL download service and Escrow are the lead Master Node Apps.

If you are interested in developing one or both of these, can you PM how much you would be prepared to do the work for and we can then arrange for crowd funding, or perhaps directly funded.

Does anyone really need to be in charge?

I'm not sure if you need someone in charge, or an agreed direction of travel that everyone signs up to and so all the moving parts know which way they need to head.

We all know that SPR has some mining preferences that make it more decentralised than other projects. Keeping multi-pools away is actually a really big deal, and I like it.

Pools? I actually like pools, so if there is a large portion of solo miners and the odd private pool, I'm up for that.

We know that SPR will have master nodes. The issue is what Apps to run first. Once we know that, then the moving parts can start to organise themselves into small groups and coordinate around a common end goal.

What a lot of people don't always understand about 'big businesses' is that everyone inside a big business works in small teams. We can organise around 3-4 small teams that do different things for the common end goal.

In fact, it is the code written by its creator, and say more, life is the community that was created around the coin.
And most importantly: is the force that the community developed throughout his journey in the source code, the opportunities that this code can provide for those who could understand the greatness of this development, and also the skills that have been acquired by the community.

This is life the currency!

agreed njs - but even a decentalized currency NEEDS direction and purpose with management even if that management IS the community ... something i found out the hard way when i took over granitecoin ...

i seriously would like to see this move forward in a big way also ...

All of those things are great for a business, but this is a decentralized currency.  The things happening on spreadcointalk are fantastic. There is already a group of people on github all connected in a developers pool. This coin has moved forward. In a few days we will see a new ANN for SPR, and masternodes have been a great deal of talk for everyone involved.  I believe we are at the moment where a vast majority of people lose faith in the coin, the people who invested at this point are the ones who make bank.  That moment you look back on and wish you had a time machine and could just purchase $10 worth of SPR.  If all of our plans are implemented it will be glorious.

torrent is probably the best way of delivering software that i have ever seen ...

although it is STILL in heavy use for other illegals - like distribution of pirate films and so forth - it is something that is probably one of the MOST efficient forms of delivery we have on the internet today ... something we have been looking at implementing with granitecoin ... but that is another story ...

i have been an avid supporter of spr - until the disappointment of mr spread leaving ... we would luv to have a developer with his skill on our team ...

but as it stands - IF the community is taking over and there is some movement forward - then there is always the promise of new things over the horizon ...

unfortunately - what 'solid' team is there? ... what do 'we' have that can even be construed as a way forward? ...

when projects such as this are to be deemed 'doable' - they first need a solid base ... in this instance - it is developers and promoters ( idea makers - especially from the community ) and management ( yes - managemnt ) ... ie - the solid base that all else can start from ...

im not saying that what is happening here is a waste of time - far from it ... but there is no structure or coherence - because there is no LEAD ...

mr spread was the leader - he piked it ... now what we need is management team ( or one person that CAN lead - whether a dev or not - but preferably and 'manager' rather a dev in my humble opinion ) to solidify and bring forth those ideas and utilities to make all this a reality ... someone ( or a team ) to co-ordinate and meld together all this mess that we are seeing ...

i guess its all about authority - cohesion - implementation ... things we are not seeing at the moment - or at least im not ...

just my observation ...

So the community is taking over this coin then? I really hope that SpreadCoin still succeeds because it is a really good coin with good ideas and concepts behind it and it would be sad to see it just die

100% correct. Master Nodes are decentralized servers. They can do all sorts of things.

So according to your description in the link, you still need an escrow service first.  It seems like what your're suggesting is an 'app' built on top of something masternodes provide.  Not trying to denigrate your idea, I just think master nodes can provide a framework and then apps like gambling can hook into that.  But I'm probably just partial to the escrow idea because I suggested it (I have no idea if it's original nor am I even sure if I was the first one to suggest it).  Just my 2 cents.  Either way movement is good.

Along the same lines I don't understand the Torrent to URL Link Download Service.  Can someone give me a real world example please?
