Hey all! I have some very exciting news to share:

The Heroes Project has created their very own TopCoin address to accept donations for their campaign to help USMC SSgt Charlie Linville climb Mount Everest! He was severely injured by an IED during his course of duty in Afghanistan, but is determined to make his recovery and ascend to the TOP!

Donations can be made by sending TOP to The Heroes Project:

Here is the link to our original thread, which is also stickied on the front page of our subreddit. Thanks everyone!

Is The Heroes Project still working?

Looks like the TopCoin block explorer may be down, but The Heroes Project address is still valid and donations can still be sent.  I will let topdude know about the block explorer to see if he can have someone fix.

So here's my question: Once we hit the 1 blocks, what is going to make the price increase? I don't think the people dumping right now would be able to reorganize and start their sell wall at 10, and even if they could, what is going to make people buy this coin?

That's assuming the price does increase. And if it doesn't, and all these millions of topcoins have been dumped, what will make the price increase then?

So that's the big question right now. What will make people buy topcoins if the price goes up? I am sitting on a few million right now, and I am deciding whether I just want to cash out now and take my 1 bitcoin profit, or wait and hope that demand and price both spike relatively soon. Several other coins have piqued my interest, and judging by this thread and the subreddit this coin doesn't seem like it's going anywhere.

Also, an update from the dev would be reassuring. I want to be certain that topcoin has a future, which will restore my faith to keep holding and trading.

Donate if you can spare anything, I mean we're not going to get 30 million dollars like doge did but anything helps, current acct bal is 4.2 million coins @6 sat is around $140 USD!!! this is before fees.

You have 4.2 million coins and still want someone to donate? Why don't you mine or trade or even use the faucets? How about donating some of them?

First of all that is not my account/address, second of all I don't think the heroes project is going to be mining. I am simply trying to rally up the community to get more funds for a good cause and at the same time help our image.

So do we expect the price to go up with this coin beginning to be very rare?

Probably not a whole lot. It certainly won't get any cheaper though.

Correct, that address belongs to The Heroes Project.  We helped them set up the address to collect donations for the Charlie Linville Mount Everest climb.  When the campaign ends, they will be exchanging the donations.

user183 was simply trying to drum up some donations from the community.  I know we could all donate a little, I even put actual cash out for this...  exchanged for Bitcoin and then bought Topcoin to donate.  Yes, I could have donated straight cash, but I was trying to help Topcoin in the process.

Thanks for hearing us out, and please donate if you are able Smiley

How much hash is needed to keep the network confirming transactions? Some people will still mine I think. It might not be profitable for a while, but it won't stop them. If not, I could buy a dualminer and mine top for like 2 cents a day just to get my coins to the exchange.

That's true, with 1 coin a block not many people will still be mining which results in a low diff. And because of this <1 diff it will be easy to solo mine with for instance 1 dualminer, just keep it running 4 ever.

Yup...  Even CPU mining would probably suffice if you wanted to point your GPU to something else.

THis got buried in the heated discussions so I'll ask again, just curious:

"So what happens when TOP reaches the 1 coin blocks soon?

Let's assume no one will be mining anymore since it's then as good as not profitable that's including the tx fees, why would anyone still mine?

No more mining means that transactions won't be confirmed anymore and in turn you won't be able to deposit or withdraw top from the exchanges or share it with others. Wallets will stop syncing because no more blocks are mined.

Unless TOP reaches such a high value that 1 coin and the occasionally 100 and 1000 coin block is profitable, TOP will be slowly dying.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.."

I will still be mining...  and I know a few others that said they are committed as well.
