Thanks Dave. This is customer support. Smiley

+1. If you've actually followed Dave since bAsic, you know that he is on the ball and gets things done. Those that accuse him of scamming or make snide remarks about his time with Tom are full of shit.

I'm closing the shipping poll, thanks for voting.  The results show that there is equal interest in all four shipping options - 1 & 2 day delivery with/without insurance.

The shipping team put together pricing for the expedited options, so I will be adding all four options to the store by next week.  This should give plenty of time for people to decide which route to go.  I'm marking up my cost no more than 30% on expedited shipping.  The goal is to get these boards to you as fast as possible, but I need to make sure not to lose money doing it.

I highly recommend shipping with insurance - just imagine if your very expensive kit were to show up on the wrong doorstep!

We will ship your kits in plain boxes - no logos to indicate what is inside. Also as a reminder, kits will be shipped with signature required.  This is both a requirement of the credit card processors, but also its in your best interest.  Follow those tracking numbers and call in sick to work - believe me its going to be worth it!

Just to catch you all up:

Boards are in production - we've asked for daily expedited shipments as they come off the line.   These first boards go to 100TH mine, with August delivery kits to follow.  So I'll repeat that I expect August product to ship by Aug. 31st.  Fab says they can do the whole process start to finish in 20 days and we are on the last step here.

By "in production" I mean the pick and place machines have already been set up, solder masks made, PCBs for both board types were made two weeks ago.  "In production" means the actual assembling is happening.

Turns out we had a few remaining components stuck in customs - these were bits supplied by us and sent to the fab.  If you are following some of the other ASIC build threads, you may have heard about the global shortages for key components in this design.  We tackled this problem months ago in order to avoid running out of power regs and inductors.

The CC payment system is a bit of a kludge - you have to go to my storefront on Square to re-select the same product & quantity in order to get to the CC payment screen.  Its like making the same order twice.  We will reconcile these against the megabigpower.com store, which remains the primary store of orders.  We will ship from our order list on megabigpower.com, so don't go direct to Square.  I hope to be able to re-integrate CC payments using Authorize.net by next week...then the Square thing can go away.

I expect to have boards hitting racks in force by next week, I will keep you posted!

Cheers,
Dave

Is there any data/result from the full 16 board prototype? E.g. stability, power draw, hash rate?

I don't believe this has been shared yet... just the pics of the fully populated system.
I assume we will get some hard numbers/data when production boards are racked up this week.

Slightly less than 100 grams for an H-CARD. So a complete system with 16 cards and M-BOARD + Raspi would be under 2 kilograms.

Thank you csacpe

Its my understanding that the sockets on the m-board are spaced 20mm apart, but how far away is socket "F" from the nearest mounting hole (or from the edge of the board)?
From center of socket "F" to mounting hole is 7.56 mm. From mounting hole to board edge is 5 mm.

Did you check the schematic?

Eyeballing it looks like 12mm?

Yep, but I'd prefer an exact measurement.

Can anyone who's done it tell us what a manual CC transaction entails?

I'm an international customer - so I'd feel a lot better about a 24/7 automated system than potentially playing phone tag with someone from the states

Megabigpower now has a CC processing site hosted with Squareup.com. They notified me with a note attached to their order site. It came across and as email to the account I have connected to the purchase.

I am guessing that there are few enough CC orders that they are just manually matching CC payments at SquareUp with the order at megabigpower.com... or maybe they are just ignoring the CC orders at megebigpower.com and basing everything on CC orders placed at SquareUp.

The site seemed to take my payment ok. I'll check with my CC a bit later and see how it all went there.

Looking forward to October! And hopefully this product takes off so that I will be able to buy additional hashing boards in the future!

I think you ordered at mega then go to Squareup order same thing at mega and check out for CC.

ps: Do we need to make new account at Squareup or login with same as Mega?

are you saying Aug. orders will delay for Oct. ship out?

It does not appear that he is saying that. He is speculating on the earliest possibility of a component change to the M board, something the manufacturer  of the product has not said anything about.  Since the M board is probably already built for September orders he is saying the soonest it could possibly happen would be October.  I do not see the manufacturer changing this soon or at all.

Agreed.  It wasn't clear if c-scape was going to offer the S-Hash board with the higher clocked chips seperately.  Since it is a standalone miner with its own CPU and networking, I imagine it would be more expensive than the H-Board if they even offered to sell it state-side.

I don't think he is saying that... I think he is saying that if the guy has a request for a change to a board he should order an October board that hasn't been produced yet.

Correct.  The August boards have left the stable so to speak.  If you want changes, you are going to have to reflow them yourself... blargh.
