We are working on the hard fork, however, we are still also ensuring that everyone has some time to breathe.

For now, we believe the block chain is protected so long as growth rates continue on the protection port. It will be necessary for everyone to be on one port if we are to perform the fork. Literally all the hash of whitecoin must be concentrated to one pool for us to take over.

I give you my word that if we do fork the coin (it's look that way, still no word from devs directly to me since I was banned from the channel, it may not have been them) we will turn the coin over to the community via a process that protects everyone and seeks community input as best possible.

If the devs return in the meantime, they'll be able to fix this.

For now, I am feeling very optimistic.

Mogonzo, could you please answer these questions?

  • Who owns the premined coins?
  • Who owns the Github account?
  • Who owns the WhiteCoin.co website?
  • Who owns the @WhiteCoiner Twitter account?

You, or other people, on each of those?

And if other people, who are they? And can control of those aspects of WhiteCoin be taken from them somehow, if they abandon the coin or fail to manage it professionally?

Thanks for any information you can provide, and for your efforts to solve the problems.

I have created a new channel on freenode for those who wish to discuss and work together if a transition is necessary (in my opinion it is).

Join #whitecoinfoundation on freenode.

How long does the actual coding of a new wallet need? An hour or two? Or longer? I understand the difference between that and giving people a long enough heads up to download the new wallet before they send coins.

If you have nowhere to point your miners.  Bring them on over to the official Cinni Multipool, just released today (supports scrypt & x11, soon to add sha256):

Update from Mintpal "The WhiteCoin wallet is currently offline following concerns over a blockchain vulnerability, deposits and withdrawals have been stopped."

What is the actual vulnerability? No one is being clear on this.

ouch

well opportunity ahead

Who is the dev?

Nobody knows for sure. They are missing.  Shocked

A scammer who is dumping everything just like many other coins. And they later dissapear, you can't call "developer" to someone who hides its identity and no real name, github or linkedin. I am out of crypto world this is just starting to be gambling not "investing".

I bought at 2.000 by the way so imagine the terrible loss.

we all knew the risks and we all know that WC was a pale BC copy to try and ride the bc wave.

If you can't afford to gamble what are you doing into crypto? crypto are not investments, they are a gamble..

The dev has no interest in this coin now that he has dumped his premine. Truth. Fork it community owns it now.

Yeah but we have a big enough amount of supporters we don't need the original Dev. They sold the premine and left...men oh well we just move forward. The premine wasn't that much anyway.

I have been banned from #whitecoin on IRC.

The devs may be returning. If they do, I encourage them to solve this problem. I may be locked out of the whitecoin accounts soon if they do not appreciate the attempts I have made in good faith to save this coin.

I will not give up so long as there is support in the community.

Original Dev wasn't active much anyway, I say take it over moganzo we support you.

Nobody send or withdraw coins. Not moving them will keep them safe until wallet updates come out. Once wallets are updated its safe to send/withdraw coins. Learned that the hard way losing 200,000 to a dogecoin fork

It would be helpful if the WC team could post some info on the website about who actually controls this coin. Who are the devs? Other team members? People need to know who really speaks for this coin, and PR needs to be handled more professionally.

Moganzo has control of the Dev bitcointalk account and is basically saying the original devs aren't responding. He is basically becoming the Dev

I see. But that's only part of the control. Who controls the premined coins? Who owns the Twitter account? Who owns the WhiteCoin official website? Are there other aspects of control that are in the hands of other people besides Moganzo?

As I see it, the WC community needs to figure out as soon as possible who all the people are who are involved in running this coin, and then an organization needs to be established with formal roles. That's the only way to establish credibility and prevent chaos going forward. JMHO.

Glad that I got out at 1300 when I could. As I said earlier "dev" is not a real developer he probably has good intentions but he has no clue what he is doing. If you can't afford to lose more just sell if you can afford to lose then it's a gamble and hold for a long time could rise in many months just like dark if of course all the problems are solved.

How did he get the password to the dev's account? o.O

They gave it to him a few days ago
