Is WC staking for anybody? My wallet is not encrypted and I am seeing no signs of it staking right now. Anybody else?

You wallet needs to be unlocked to start staking. Whether it's encrypted or not has no affect on staking, it's the unlocking that starts the staking, then you just have to wait. If you have a lot of coins you will se pos coins faster. if you only have a couple hundred you're going to be waiting a while.

To start Staking whilst retaining the security of your wallet, go Help>Debug Window. Now select the Console tab. Type the following at the bottom: walletpassphrase YourPassphrase 9999999 true
Replace the YourPassphrase with your own passphrase. (the encryption password you added earlier on) The 9999999 relates to the amount of seconds that you wish to leave the wallet open for staking. Once you have added this hit Enter.

How do you stake coins? I've had a wallet open (V1.0.1.0) since it came out and I've got coins in there from basically day one.[/size]

I have not seen a single PoS transaction in my wallet and I've even restarted at block 10001 to make sure I was legit to get PoS. When does the staking start? Do I need to do something to make this happen? The wallet isn't encrypted, it's online and accepting new blocks. Any help will be appreciated and tipped with WC if answered. Thanks.

You need to unlock the wallet, not un-encrypt it. Here are the instructions to unlock your wallet for staking while keeping it secure and encrypted

It is around every 8 hours to stake so be patient! POS only began 2 hours ago!

A detailed explanation will be posted soon. If I remember my briefing correctly it's about 2 days until staking actually begins. In concept, people are required to prove they will keep their coins in their wallet online for a good period after PoS begins before stake rewards start.

there's no incentive to put in a high bid when you know waffle will sell at whatever the market price is going for. it's just gonna take a little time for them to get their final coins confirmed and dumped on mintpal

they have mined these coins at 1400+diff they are not gonna dump these for peanuts..they have miners to pay out and need to remain profitable.

well that's exactly it. they have miners to pay, so they dump at market rate, it's just what they do. they don't speculate, although in this case i'm sure they are tempted to. i don't think they will though.

they will be done in 5-6 hours, and chunky + hashcow will be buying coins up. that's when you will see the price finally start rising.

@halofirebtc
Switched to chunky after PoW ended. Chunkypool is saying I am mining doge, I see my hashes are fine. Question I have is: On "my account" page why do I see my "mined doge unconfirmed" as a negative balance and zero WC? Anyone else experiencing the same?

only 1.7 million coins left for waffle to sell, then the pools will be putting buy pressure on Smiley

correct. plus chunky and hashcow will be adding buying pressure too. we haven't seen either of these, and both will be happening right about the same time.

When you are seeing dumps how do you know it's actually waffle pool?

This question is directed towards the people saying that "waffle pool just dumped at such and such price"

Look at their unexchanged value at their stats page: http://wafflepool.com/stats

they have no whitecoin left to sell. Time to buy. Next stop 2k.

they still have 1.7 million. those coins will be confirmed over the next 6 hours or so

It says 0 unexchanged so doesn't that mean they sold them all. They're just waiting for it to confirm.
