I personally don't see the point of "PoD", it doesn't really give you anything and it kind of goes against the whole ethos of cryptos and anon coin stuff at least IMHO. I'm more interested in "proof-of-delivered-results" e.g. activity. As long as I see active and continous delivery of "stuff" e.g. marketing activity or technical activity / feature releases etc. that tells me more than some PoD thing that is the new fad that people "think" needs to be on some checklist but that in reality doesn't really mean jack. I want to see activity every day or every few days, so I know people are still involved in coins I get into, it doesn't do any good to have some coin with a PoD label but a dead community, and you can't "force" a dev to do anything for you as its not a job, all you can do is monitor whats going on and get in or out and trade smart. I dunno, I guess we'll see if the fad/trend passes in a month or two, but to me it just seems like a stupid thing to give naive people comfort and a false sense of security. Every single crypto including Bitcoin is a high risk volatile commodity, and PoD isn't going to change that. Even bitcoin is seeing the loss of devs, you can't chain these people to a computer and force them to make bitcoin go up
That said, I mined this
, and all indications are they are going to turn this into something cool.
+1 .. totally agree also I know I would never give my details to a third party so certainly would not expect others to.
Anything innovative planned?
The dev is onto something special here... let me explain.
When SDC launched and subsequently introduced "stealth addresses" I was both a. excited and b. disappointed. For me, SDC missed a trick (bitcoin had no choice when Peter Todd introduced Stealth because bitcoin was already a live chain), launching "stealth" mid blockchain does not allow you to get the best out of its capabilities. Using "stealth addresses" from genesis gives you "anon" built in from day one because you can never associate the public key (as seen on the block chain) with an actual stealth address (as given out to third parties for receiving payments). The only parties that know the "shorter" public key to a stealth address is 1. the sender and 2. receiver.
Ironically, I have been wondering for weeks about how cool it would be to have a coin which had stealth addresses from genesis block including the PoW phase ... low and behold someone launches the exact thing...
I am excited to hear the ongoing plans and the development of XCash; it is time for the vapour-ware "anon" coins to move over...
