Good morning my fellow friends.

To bring some good news, I have finally finished the first version of the ExByte - Wallet.
And this is exactly what you think it is, a fully featured Joulecoin wallet for Android. (Sorry iOS, not today.)
It successfully implements the Joulecoin protocol, which means it supports transaction comments. Yaay!

Initially I planned to get finished before Christmas last year, and then New Year. But of course either never happened.
But today is the day! Smiley

Introducing: https://exbyte.org/

Update: After consideration I have decided to make the app free instead of paid.
And of course anyone who bought the app will be refunded in full.
So, although a little late, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Joulecoin!

What a start of the New Year.

I hope that most of the funds will be recovered, and Cryptopia coming online again.

Hello Folks,

I have just updated the crypto-docker project at https://github.com/bostontrader/crypto-docker.  Among other things, fans of of XJO might be interested in the following:

With crypto-docker you can build docker images that contain the XJO binaries built from a recent commit of https://github.com/joulecoin/joulecoin, using Alpine Linux.

You can choose to build an image without debug symbols, but with optimization, resulting in a rather small image of about 181 MB.  This is built with QT5 and can be viewed from a VNC viewer on the host system.

Or you can choose to build an image with debug symbols and no optimization, resulting in a larger image.  But this image includes gdb and gdbgui which enables you to debug the executables using gdb and a GUI.

Enjoy!

Just added 27TH to the network. Also, a full node will run at 2604:7780:303:80::80 and 64.182.119.36 plenty of bandwidth for blockchain downloads. Enjoy! Cool

I am a new to all this mining stuff and want to say my first official block to mine was the Joulecoin. I noticed the website and it is looking good. Any word on getting a market tab on your website? Like a market place. People could add hardware new and used. Maybe even an auction function

I haven't thought about a marketplace.
If I would prioritize, I think some kind of payment gateway for Joulecoin would be a good start.

But I will definitely keep your request in mind.

I like that Joulecoin was one of the first Blocks you ever mined. Smiley

The network keeps on ticking steadily, and everything looks good.

Older clients (0.9.X.X) have been declining, but there are still a few left.

Had a glitch in using Kleopatra encryption. But figured it out. So our 'PGP Nation' project is back on track.

Whoo!

Venezuelan guys! They are having a hard time at present. Even the Net there is giving them trouble. I told them to take a rest.

Been practising making and sweeping paper wallets.

And Dalslandan and I wanna try some stuff with tx comms over on Discord. Watch this space!

Got a bit more XJO for devving. Venezuelan project is going well but slowly  -- conditions there are very difficult.

If you need help hosting and/or creating something which is beneficial, I can try to be of assistance.
I'm available on Discord if you have something on your mind.*

I will find you on Discord, dalslandan.

I have applied a couple of fixes to XJO sources, but for some reason shithub won't let me make pull request to main repo, as it hates when you have multiple sources of same project. This is mostly a simple change I applied because C++11 doesn't play nice with the main repo for whatever reason:

https://github.com/Shinoa-Fores/joulecoin/commit/c2983f8d6a74fca82a7581dd34275e869d17a94c
and
https://github.com/Shinoa-Fores/joulecoin/commit/18116e0a6f436079fa9ee9f0b67b697d2beb292a  (Because I forgot to push it the first day xD )

One or two other minor fixes listed there that may or may not affect others, I use Gentoo so these may not be a problem on other distros, haven't tested yet.

I use CentOS 7, and have used Ubuntu before.
I haven't had this issue at all, and recompiled to check again.

I know I have somewhat been in contact with the issue before, but I can't remember thoroughly where.

Newer version of Bitcoin source code have changed to full path, so probably others have encountered the same issue.

By the way, if you wanna talk more interactively you can join the Joulecoin Discord channel: https://discord.gg/RaWB3uE
And send me a private message. Smiley

In my experience, the issue only happens with newer g++ ( Currently building with 7.3.0 as 8.x.x will not build db4.8 without a patch, and I like consistency across coin builds).
By a stroke of luck, I just got discord working in bitlbee/weechat yesterday. Will join at some point today. Thanks!
