Hi,

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/ shows the correct address and balance amount (I'm pool mining).
And I would send to another wallet...but i have NO(!) coins available! They are listed at "stake" and "unconfirmed"...for days now.

As I said, I deleted all files, downloaded the wallet and synced it twice within a week...and it takes ages...for nothing...

I'm also looking for a working conf-file with addnodes etc.

I will not waste time, energy etc. anymore...

But thanks for your help, anyways
it seems you have older version of wallet installed. have you taken time to update to latest version 1.4.6.2. JUST ASKING!

FYI, we're doing some setup for the website, try to set up a forum so that suggestions can go there. I did read suggestions from this thread, but it's kinda difficulty looking up everything. There'll be downtime; we'll restore it ASAP.

Thanks good idea Joe!

Can anyone explain why the Pool hashrate and Net hashrate at Minerclaim is always jumping back and forth?  As or right now the Pool is higher than the Net.  Just trying to understand and learn.

They are doing this to manipulate the reward system. The coin doesn't have a lot of net, and they control about 20% of the mining. As such, they can throttle that 20% up and down to achieve higher and lower difficulties when the network starts to gain traction.  I have literally sat here and watched them do it for almost a week now.

When they throttle back up, they generate blocks with rewards of over 10-20 XMG each. This "throttle" pattern or "pump" if you will, basically is more profitable for them. Or at least they seem to think it is.

I don't think this is organic fluctuation.  Unless there are a whole lot of "beta" or "in development" pools pushing tons of hash power that are going up and down.

Most good mining software including Wolf V2 or cpuminer-opt I believe has the option to throttle local miner instances based on overall network hash rate, not pool (super neat)! This is pretty fucking awesome, but is easily abused by larger botnets. Especially in tandem with the largest pool on such a gross share of extraction.

The only real good way to mitigate this is with auto-exchanging pools and auto switching algo's. This way, when hash rates are high, rewards low, you can switch your algo's to another coin altogether.

Just my noob observations.

Problem(s) solved:

I still do not realy know, what the problem was.

But balances are correct (also shown in wallet) now and wallet is synced.

I deleted all files and directories.
Downloaded wallet again - and the zip'ed blockchain - thought link was down, but sillt works and rly thanks for this!
After syncing the remaining block, checkwallet, repairwallet it works now.

Still don't know why, did nothing new...same procedure the third time...but works.
After third try...all is fine...seems to be (at least)
I'm realy glad and happy now...stress off.  Wink

Seems like my wallet cannot get synced right....
I have deleted all files and downloaded/synced the wallet 2 times now within a week.

But the summed up balance does not match - well, it does but it's not available

My "old" balance before "fork" is listed as "stake" in the overview now.
Three days ago I have sent 10 XMG from Minerclaim to my wallet...for testing. This 10 Coins are listed as "unconfirmed" (3 days ago...still 0/6 confirmations).

I did "rescan" -> Method not found (code -32601)
I did "checkwallet" ->
{
"wallet check passed" : true
}
I did "repairwallet" ->
{
"wallet check passed" : true
}

The over all balance is correct, also shown in the blockexplorer...
But not in my wallet...
Coins are listed:
availabe: 0
Stake: old amount before fork
unconfirmed: my sent 10 coins for testing.

What is your conf-file look like?
How are you connected? Any nodes added?

I realy don't know and I don't want to sync the wallet a third time. Download links are offline and a complete download/sync via wallet takes DAYS!

Hi mate,

I'm def no expert here, but someone helped me with these links so i will do the same

https://poolinfo.systms.org/
Have a look here, what i can see is that 7 pools match the same block (within 1 block) of the general summary, so i would take that as an indicator of the correct block height

Here "https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/"
you can check any of your wallet addresses....remember thou, if you solo mine each block has its own address...so you may have to check multiple address to total your balance.

I suspect what has happened to you, is same as me, i recently did a repair etc, and lost 2000 coins, and regained 43 from nearly 7 months ago...with all the forking its bound to happen.
Best bet, get it in your wallet, and then out to an exchange asap...xmg just to unstable at the moment (just my thoughts)

Hope some of this helps

Sheesh Guys
All this crap is exactly why i stopped mining this coin a year ago....i have been back 2-3 times in between, but NOTHING has changed.

Devs i don't man that disrespectfully, cos i know you have put in huge efforts, but clearly to no avail.

But seriously, enuff with the "uuggghh bots bots bots...it cant be fixed...devs dont care...its all a big conspiracy"
Really?

Miners, if you're not happy mining...just move on ! Come back in 2-3 months and see if its any different...
or kick minerclaim where it hurts and spread the hash, but dont bitch then stay there using the excuse, well they pay most....have some morals....

As for the "they just make a private pool"...true...just like protecting your house against burglars.....untimately its impossible if they are determined enuff, so all you have to do, is make em look elsewhere....thats not a big clever concept, just commonsense.

Devs ! Get a grip, stop trying too hard to be everything to everyone, we're all whiners in the end (including me), but you can change this !
There are now many cpu only coins, which despite attacks, are still staying true (so far).
They are ALL wallet only mineable, and they are all having to tweak the algo on a regular basis, cos based on the above crap, they're always going to have to move the goal posts.....You can do the same, if you chose.

So i say time for devs and miner all to take stock, and either put up of shut tp, otherwise we'll still be having all these issues in another 12 months time, and to be quite honest considering there are now over 3000 live crypto coins, i think we can safely say "WE" are being our own worse enemies with this coin.

For anyone reading this, especially anyone whos native langauge isnt English.....i am not mad, angry, pi££ed off, or having a nasty go, but just look at the size of this thread, and its constant issues...if i were loking at this as a potential coin to mine / invest. i'd simply click "NEXT"

I think its time to close this thread, close ALL the pools, and walk away for 2 weeks.
Come back with a re-launch, new, clean thread, and a hard reset.

Frustrated, but not mad

This morning i checked my solo miner and it said that it mined 2+ coins as a popup window at the Magic Client logo bottom right, but my wallet dosent show anything? not unconfirmet or nothing? i have tryed checkwallet, repairwallet restart, and still nothing? is this just a glitch or? the wallet is up to data and is v1.4.6.2 on block 1831288 right now.

I know the wallet and miner works sins i have received solo mined coins before.

Do any of you REALLY BELIEVE you can control these users?

There are probably ways, but it wouldn't be practical as you have pointed out.

Personally though, as I said here, 0.5xmg daily (average based on market value) is my break even. Whether the "whales" stay or go, makes no nevermind so long as I'm not operating at a loss.

Why does all this bullshit about high hashrate users persist? If a pool tosses a big user, only 2 things happen. The pool loses some income, and the user simply goes elsewhere. Another pool, start their own private pool, or mine solo. Any of those give 0 change in total hashrate and 0 difference in coin earnings. OK, maybe the hashrate will drop for a few hours before they realize they've been kicked, but that's all.

Do any of you REALLY BELIEVE you can control these users?

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to get rid of the datacenter/botnet based miners, just saying it ain't gonna happen. Unless you've got a really ingenious method in mind, you are just beating a very dead (and badly decayed by now) horse and making yourself look like a whiny fool.

We need to put measures in place to stop this abuse of the coin and the community.

For starters, the pools that have a hash limit should be enforcing it.

https://pom.m-hash.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

Top 6, above 250 (user lida is consistently above). Granted #5 and #6 are barely and could be contributed to float.

https://magi.trasmamod.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

#1 above 250.

Edit: the list could have changed since my post time... CBA to screenshot and whatnot, posting via my phone.

However, these users could just register a new account and split the hosts...

Then comes the rest of the pools with no fixed limit. You are asking them to impose an arbitrary value based on your disdain of high rate individuals. No where in the official documentation does it state a fixed hash limit. The short of it is "higher hash, lower rewards to keep things fair."

This has been discussed before (see page 924, or this link - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.18460

A question posed back in August stills stands. What is reasonable (hashrate limit)? And just to sate my curiosity, why?
