I think it's safe to say that the network is back to normal... well, as normal as it'll get. It's probably safe to change "
listen=0" back to "
listen=1" in everyone's magi.conf. I did, and I'm matched up with CryptoID.
Think another contributing factor was sites like Supranova (and others) dropping XMG from their list of mining pools,
Most of those miners jumped over to Minerclaim, So instead of a lot of large and small "pooled hashrates" competing for blocks we've got a single huge pool dominating the coin at the moment.
Hopefully as things settle down a few more pools will either come back or be created and start to pick of miners from Minerclaim. (One can only hope!)
I think it'll take an act of a higher power to get people to move their miners away from Minerclaim. Unfortunately, Minerclaim is where the money's at. That's why I'm tossing all my hashpower at it. I might switch over to some other pool as soon as I have enough balance to start staking, but for now, I just have to keep chipping away at it.
True!
Just depends if people happy in a large pool getting lots and lots of tiny amounts of XMG over a week,
or (like me) jump into a smaller pool and get a few larger chunks over the same timeframe.
In my personal experience of being a very low hashrate miner (90kh/s in total) things tend to come out roughly equal between types:
i.e. after Christmas and before the split, a week in a huge pool i'd get roughly the same amount of XMG as I would get in a smaller pool over the same time frame.
Just need to see if things keep going like that from now on...
