Escrow is multisig wallet by definition so both parties access the wallet and need to sign off for a transaction to be made... see I told you you don't understand how escrow works lol @joshuaT

@joshuaT what? I mean this was confirmed by the escrow himself...

If Fran gave funds back to WCX, it was never an escrow, as that's not how escrow works.

If Fran returned funds directly to presale investors, that's how escrow works.

If Fran put funds directly into another escrow (that WCX set up and had agreements with to keep funds safely out of WCX hands) and if funds were never returned to WCX, then that's escrow as that's how escrow functions.

Related to that, WCX has made conflicting statements, stating that they are returning funds, AND they've said some presale funds went into a new escrow and some into an old escrow (Fran) AND they've said that they're now setting up a new escrow.

@favdesu. Read the thread. They're just switching escrow. You've done nothing but post misinformation and FUD here. Please stop.

What's happened isn't how escrow works.  Thus, no, they're not 'just switching escrow'.

@Coiner actualy react and meteor were release nearly same time...

That is grossly inaccurate. Meteor JS's initial release January 20, 2012 while React's was March 2013 (public release in May of that year). It wasn't until around March 2015 when React was open-sourced that it started getting all the buzz. That's not "nearly the same time".

Edit: In case you doubt this, here are the google trends for Meteor vs. React over a 5 year period (images link to the trends):

As is evident, React was nowhere when Meteor was having all the glory. Even in 2015 when WC launched, Meteor still ran several circles around React in terms of popularity.

That aside, yesterday, someone brought up WhaleClub in a group I follow. If you can't remember what that is, it's the (forex) exchange/broker the gintrux/zhuldzukovya alt account claimed the owners of are responsible for WCX, and WCEX is supposed to be WhaleClubEXchange (it's a perfect fit). Is there evidence for this? Not really. However, WhaleClub:

  • is based in Hong Kong, just like WCX
  • doesn't require any verification to use their service, literally. That's WCX's promise
  • charges awesomely low fees compared to the rest. Also WCX's promise
  • is literally the only website, other than WCX, to design their website that way. Of course this doesn't usually mean much since most sites today are bootstrap copy-pasta but I've not found a single site on the net that uses that same design.
  • is run by anonymous individuals even though they appear to have names. A feature they also share with WCX.
  • has an exchange (the exchange itself, not the site) designed pretty much like WCX. If you're in the beta, check out WhaleClub's and you'll see what I mean.

These could all be coincidences for sure but, if true, WCX will launch, fulfill all their promises, after all they've done it before, but (there's always a but  Wink ) will steal your money through some very smarmy means.

This is what I found on WhaleClub googling yesterday. They promise low fees, and for sure the fees are low, but there's more to it than that. This is the BCT thread that lead to that Reddit thread. Again, it could be nothing.

BTW, the whaleclub url is https://whaleclub.co.

We're investing in an illegal exchange run out of Hong Kong?

Um, you're gonna have to tell us where you got "illegal" from because it sure wasn't from my post.

How long before this turns into BTC-E 2.0 if it grows big enough?

Jeez! Where are you getting these mega-sized leaps from? BTC-e for an exchange in beta? Really? Even if you're assuming my speculation you quoted is correct, no one from WC AFAIK has been arrested and they've never been DDoS'ed.

This is obviously more BS speculation and FUD lol. The WCX people are probably loving all this buzz activity anyway

Lol i love it when people clearly have no idea what they are talking about.  Are you trying to say that the creators of WCX are going to use the site to launder money from Mt.Gox through it?

Yeah it's definitely well inspired from GDAX for dashboard lay design. Tradingview i think they offer they re chart integration, many broker have it.

I just checked and it's more than inspiration, it's practically a clone. Definitely closer to GDAX than WC but you can't clone what you precede; WC launched before GDAX.

No dont think they are affiliated at all with WhaleClub. you can look source of the exchange in chrome browser on both exchanges, its completely diferent. the WhalecClub exchange use javascript in jquery Meteor framework. WCX is React

Of course it's different. React didn't exist when Meteor was in its hey days and switching now is more than just changing a class name. However, if you look at the file structure of their front pages, you'll see some funny similarities.

I don't know if you seen it or tried it but the beta looks like GDAX, not at all WhaleClub. So maybe Coinbase is behind WCX?

I did try it yesterday, when I got my beta invite, and yes, I've had like 4 people not that it's got a GDAX skin. The similarity with WhaleClub has more to do with the TradingView integration, it's placement and layout in general.

And WhaleClub isn't apparently which is why I was wondering why they didn't want to point out their affiliation with WCX. That is, until I started seeing all the threads about WC being a "bucket stop" exchange.

Fran Strajnar on Twitter. It was falsely claimed he was managing escrow of pre-sale payments.

https://twitter.com/Techemist/status/905871452640919552

"I have removed my association and will not escrow this project."

LOL who would've thought. it's too scammy for him I guess

You could've quoted any other post with a Fran Strajnar email screenshot but you choose the one that takes an image out of context and makes a categorically false claim just above it. You have a +10 trust so, tbh, I expected more.

A couple of people have suggested I have been posting my doubts here about WCX in bad faith.

I referred 63 people to sign-up. It is in my financial interest that WCX works.

It won't. I just hope nobody I introduced to WCX paid any money in the pre-sale.

As evidenced by your pinned post on Twitter, it would also be in your financial  interest if people have a bad impression of WCX (tbh, WCX is doing a fantastic job of that themselves), feel you care for their safety and thus sign up for the exchange you're advertising there. It's a win-win for you.

I am participating is the beta testing, See many things that needs improvement, Still checking them out. Hope the will deliver, I will also try to bypass there system. But just to ask, will I be paid with WCX for my effort, because I have been on there beta platform for more than 6 hours testing. Whats there in return for me....

Lol, seriously? You want bounties because you got free beta access?

Of course, me too, do you expect anyone to beta test this exchange for free?

They promised to compensate beta testers.

They did? Can you link to said promise?

I kinda want the link to that text too, and what would that testing include, just playing with it?
