Twas the Night Before YOURChain - 2 Years Later
Twas the night before YOURChain, two years it has been
No progress was seen, not one git commit!
The URHOCs were stored in their wallets with care,
In hopes that DE would soon get off his ass and produce some code besides the usual fanfare.
The crypto masses were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Yachts and Lambos all danced in their heads.
And Greg in his Subaru with his "coexist" sticker, and I in my newly washed Benz,
Had started a fight to which there was no end.
When out in the cryptosphere there arose such a centralized clatter,
I sprang to Bitcointalk to see what was the matter.
Away to the block explorers I flew like a flash,
Looked at the crypto stats even for Dash!
The data displayed on my screen that night,
Snuffed the hope in my eye that had shown like a light.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But those damn Chicom bastards with 67%+ hashrate!
With their dirty "equality" mantras, so disingenuous and slick,
I knew in a moment it must be the State Capitalists who were at it again!
Worse even than fiat, their coursers they came,
They all whined, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Bitcoin! Now Litecoin! now, Ether and Ripple!
On, NXT! On, NEM! On, all Larimer scams!
To the depths of their pockets! To the last of their coins!
Now centralize away! Steal away! Take away ALL!
As roaches to flith all the commies did scurry,
When they need more control, they inflitrate again without blinking an eye!
So away with our fortunes and freedoms, the commies they flew,
With promises to all that never came true.
And then with a sigh, I admitted the truth...
Even in crypto the centralizers had won without much of a fight.
Bitcoin was owned by the Chicom rat bastards,
And in the US all our hands had been tied.
We went without a whimper, barely a cry...
Because we were conned with the notions of fortunes made overnight.
For that is the trick of those slick commie bastards,
Promises, and promises that never do materialize.
I said a small prayer and hoped for an answer,
When suddenly, what to my amazement appeared...
But a vision of BCNext himself!
And Satoshi and Hal Finney close in the rear!
Their eyes how they glistened from the tears pouring out!
Their moans how they wailed that crypto was dead!
The signs of disappointment and betrayal etched in their faces,
Showed that the original intent was gone without any traces!
A small little note they held tight in their hands,
It was only a phrase, so simple and true.
It started it all, but so few had a clue,
"The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks"
Everything anyone could possibly wonder as to the reason for crypto he stated himself.
I let out a laugh which was an exasperated cry for I knew this was lost on almost all but myself.
A tear in his eye and a small, little grin,
He confirmed it all without saying nary a word.
I pledged to them all that I would never give up.
And to the final breath, we will struggle for the cause.
YOURChain was special, for it was the very last,
That refused to submit, and centralize the blockchain.
They started to fade away that cold winter night, just like their notions did from crypto.
But before they left, I heard them cry out and exclaim,
"Don't be mistaken or misled. We did what we did not for monetary gain. But simply for freedom. Remember this all and have a good-night!"
I smiled and said, "Don't worry my friends. Your cause is not lost. The commies will pay for everything that they've done. They won't get away with this terrible crime. YOURChain will give them a hell of a fight!"
