Hi do you know some good vps services that accept btc and are ok with cpu mining

Okay, just tested it myself, this coin does not require a username or password in the .conf file.

rpc username and password is only required if you want to do "rpc stuff", like running a daemon that you can poll with rpc commands or connect a miner with your wallet...

we are soon gonna need that when GPU miners pop up.

I hope GPU miner programmers are sleeping right now, so we can enjoy this phase a little longer, or else it should jump to 100 MH/s or more in no time.

Because there is no premine and the dev will eventually need funds for marketing and exchange listings? I would 1000X prefer optional donations over a ridiculous 10% or higher premine that seems common to coins nowadays.

Exactly! Some people need everything explained to them. But that's ok.

Hey, I'm getting a good feeling about all this..

Already I attracted all kinds of weird and cool people.

Everybody enjoy the ride!

I download Linux-Daemon: http://zettelkasten.org/zettelkastend.7z . and now?
a little guide for ubuntu 16 please

Smiley

1. Run the daemon
Code:
./zettelkastend
It will provide you with a random username and password, copy these down.
2. Navigate to .zettelkasten in home directory
3. Create zettelkasten.conf file in this directory and add the username and password provided earlier to this document.
4. Also add this to the .conf file:
Code:
gen=1
genproclimit=-1
4. Run daemon again.

Nothing seems to be happening after I run ./zettelkastend

Okay, just tested it myself, this coin does not require a username or password in the .conf file. Just close zettelkastend (ctrl-c), create the .conf file, and add the information from step 4. Then run the daemon again.

Nothing will happen visibly, but the daemon is syncing the blockchain and mining in the background. If genproclimit=-1 does not use all of your processors, just enter the number of threads instead of "-1".

Thisis CPU only?  Or is double-keccak possible to mine with gpu?

Well... in my opinion everything that can be mined with CPU can sooner or later be mined with GPU.

So it's just a matter of time before someone creates a GPU miner and then we will enter GPU-Phase.

That's just the nature of those things.

Thanks.  I suppose my question was poorly phrased - I was wondering if there was already a current gpu miner release.  I'm sure something like double-keccak would be easy to integrate into a gpu miner soon, just wondering what I should be looking for right now.

I'm wondering, why should the miners giving a donation before they mine?
I've never seen this kind of thing before. or it is me that doesn't know.

What do you have to offer other than a CPU-mineable algo?
Any wide range plans or you just plan to dump and leave this coin?

Alot of questions which need to be answered, hmm....

Zettelkasten is a german word.

It basically means a "card index box".

The plan is to create a knowledge management system.

This will take some time to develop, and everything is in such an early state that I don't even have a whitepaper or general synopsis ready.

But all in good time.

So.... YES... extremely wide ranging plans, I hope you guys are patient.  Cheesy

As your link says: those are not viruses but false positives because of the built-in CPU miner.

You have to read the results before you spread falsehoods like "it's not clean"

In every new ANN thread there is someone complaining about nonexistent viruses, it's pretty annoying. You can clearly see that "Coinminer" is being flagged which is common to all crypto wallets. If you are so concerned about viruses then run in a sandbox or VM, better yet install linux and compile from source instead.

I like how you've modified the wallet with a mining tab to allow easy viewing of mining info. It's much better than having to go into the debug window.

To be fair, that's a feature I borrowed from an early Spreadcoin version.

I borrowed lots of features from different Versions of different coins and mashed-up a new hashalgo.

It looks like Spreadcoin's development is stagnating (their dev left?) and they use SpreadX11 (in combination with X11) which I don't like at all.
I am a big fan of (standalone) Keccak and think that X11 is dubious from a cryptographic standpoint.

Therefor I present to you

Alright.

I added a linux daemon:

Linux-Daemon: http://zettelkasten.org/zettelkastend.7z

And BTW:

To all the great miners out there:

Since we had a fair start please donate to address

ZetterxMoFb2crhpMgRCHkivyrbapnQpzJ

for development funding.

Thank you.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Woohoo, people already mining like crazy.

Awesome!  Cool

How do we mine it? any instructions plz

Just download wallet, go to "Mining" tab and start CPU miner.
You can set the amounts of threads.

If you want to mine to a specific address create a zettelkasten.conf file and put
miningprivkey=
in there
