question from this noob to others who've been closely following this coin:

could anyone summarise what's special about it?
have the devs lived up to their promises?

Any hidden problems -
premines?
instamines?
well distributed? is there a rich list?
buggy code?
are these are hard core programmers, not "copy-paste" devs or middlemen? When bugs/fork challenge popped up, were they fixed quickly?
dev squabbles?
dev complacency?
missed deadlines?

Anything to worry about?

I personally hate that the POS interest is being reduced.
I bought SYNC for the long term, because there are few coins but you could accumulate more. Now...BLAH
Look at unobtanium - another "rare" coin. It was great in the beginning...but once the "rarity" wears off...

I say stick with 100%. Its not like there will be many of these coins. And the inflation with 100% is not extreme on a per year basis. Look at HBN for an example.

which System you are working on ?

if it is MS - then:

save your wallet - by copying to another Folder or usb-stick or something equal

delete the whole sync Folder - re-download it - doubleclick - wait a few seconds - shut it down

copy your wallet in the syncfolder

Been on vaca for a while... downloaded nitesend wallet, added conf from first page to roaming folder, but not working. Any one can help? TIA

PS, will there be a mandatory wallet update required soon? I assume i have to update my wallet at some point for the change to 1% interest, but have not seen a formal announcement about it..
If there will be a new wallet later this week, i prefer to wait till then..

So i therefore advise that you fill your pockets at this level as it is very unlikely we will

ever see this level again. Remember there will only ever be between 1000 - 10000 of these

available eventually so as just this mere fact absorbs into the community the price will take care of itself!

Folks, The biggest issue I see when I talk on other forums is that people don't know about SYNC. Only people who spent time on this forum have grown with the coin. Others simply are unaware or have discounted as just another new coin that has had it's day. Those who do have had the same experience as a lot of us did in the beginning with the wallet issue. So, they are not coming back. Being unaware that things are stable or improving is the biggest issue for those who jumped out early.

Some possible solutions:

1. Need to promote the coin.

Example: BlackCoin (BC) may not be as good a coin , but their promotion has raised them to a high level of visibility. Check out some of what they are doing. Many are thinking BC will be the next one to challenge BTC and possibly take it over.

2. Need to get the pool onto Poolpicker.eu.

This site has a lot of visibility. I think if people saw that the SYNC coin multi pool ranks with the best of them, then they would  do some research to learn about SYNC. Once they see what the coin has to offer, they may decide to hold it instead of mining and dumping to convert to btc like they would with BlackCoin or DarkCoin  pools etc.

3. Need to get the word out that the wallet is now stable. Some early investors who bailed out, mainly due to the wallet issue, may come back once they see the wallet is now stable.

Overall, many just don't know about  this coin. That means the demand is simply not as high as it should be.

I wish I could help out but I am old and disabled. Sorry if my words have come across a bit harsh...but sometimes people get so immersed in things that they "can't see the forest for the trees".

This is a debatable thing whether interest halving is good or bad. Some will say it is bad because it does not promote holding of ones coin because you only get 1% interest. Others will say it is good because you will be deflating your coins so even though you only gain 1% more coins your value will increase per coin because there will be a very small amount of new coins produced. It is up to you to figure out what you believe and then hope it goes how you want it to.

I have not been on for several days and am just catching up. The term " interest halving" is new to me. Is this a good thing or not? 

The average person may think it sounds bad...  as it sounds like it means the the interest being paid is going to drop in half every several thousand blocks.

If that is the case, how will this entice people to hold the coin?

One other question:

my current wallet is working great and staking 5 - 7 times a day. What is the extra benefit in downloading the nitesend wallet?
