huh, even with the bootstrap file i could not get past block 8702 ... , have 7 connections right now but it just does not go past 8702, any ideas how to fix it, i already restarted like 10 times and left it syncing for a longer periods of time
after having copied bootstrap.dat inside %appdata%/Sync did you reboot the Sync-Qt app?

And just to be sure i deleted everything, downloaded it again, put the bootstrap.dat inside the appdata/sync folder. While starting there was the " loading bootstrap blockchain etc" sign. After that i again got a lot of connections 5+ but got stuck on block 7200. I restarted the wallet a few times, have 12 active connections but wont go past 7200 now
try this:
1) close Sync-Qt.exe and delete from %appdata%/Sync everything **EXCEPT** "wallet.dat" and "Sync.conf" (if any) (take care of wallet.dat file and make a backup of it)
2) save bootstrap.dat inside %appdata%/Sync
3) open Sync-Qt.exe and wait until loading of bootstrap is ended
This is EXACTLY what i do every time, and i get the exact same image and message as in your picture but then i am still stuck either on 8200 or 8700. Just waited , restareted, redownloaded and what not, just cant get it working. And i would really like to get it working so i can point some miners at the sync pool, the price is going up, work is being done, the community is active, good things happening !

WHY are you all deleted your damn blockchain?
If it gets stuck, close, reopen, wait a bit. Everytime you delete it all its gonna get stuck at the same point again.

Can anyone explain to me the reasoning for the 100% interest from staking, is it compounded daily ? wouldn't it mean that a potential 1000 coins are minted every day, wouldn't that decrease the value ?

It's 100% per year, with 1000 already created by POW.
You can view the total number of coins through the Sync wallet.
Go to Help -> Debug -> Console and type "getinfo" to display a list of information about the coin. Where it says "moneysupply" is the total number of coins in circulation:
"moneysupply" : 1005.55386730,
You will see only about 5 coins have been minted through POS so far.
