[30/05/2014 15:24:12] newdev: there is an alert public key and private key
[30/05/2014 15:24:21] newdev: and a checkpoint public and private key
[30/05/2014 15:24:30] newdev: public keys are in the code
[30/05/2014 15:24:43] raskul: Ok, just so i know what we are asking for...
[30/05/2014 15:24:47] newdev: I will need the private keys to setup a checkpoint server

I have sent a PM to MsCollec asking for this information, so that I can pass it on.
the best thing MsCollec can do now is oblige, *quickly*

please.

Do you know the damage that could be caused by someone holding the private key?  They could control the blockchain of the coin. Who's this new Dev?

MsCollec, did you just pull your announcement about wallet v.2 on Monday or was it something I just wanted so much I believed it?

Someone will make the announcement

I dont think it is unrealistic to know who the dev is before handing over the key to everyones money.

I agree that we the community should know who it is before he is given the key. Just in case a large group of people have issues with the new developer.

The whole thing has to be transparant. I don't want to see a new user account pop up, someone put their name to it.

fair enough, the developer I have asked to have a look at the code has asked to remain anonymous until he/she can come to a decision whether to help, or not. If it is the case that the majority rule to know who this person is prior to giving out the key, then I'll advise my developer they are not required after all.

please someone now find a developer with enough ability to fix this coin.
I've done my best. Sorry if it wasn't enough for some.

I appreciate your efforts to solve this, but I would like to know who is the dev. At least in PM and it seems that others would like to. To see if he can help I dont think he need the key. And that is coming from a holder of one of top 5 wallets + some coins on mint. If we as community are taking over development of coin why would anyone wanted to change known dev to unknown one!?! At least board memeber/foundation should know who he is and what has he done till now.

I don't want to influence the community with my comment, I realise that some people work like that, myself included. If he wants to help, then I urge him to maybe consider telling the community of something he's done. I think some people want some reassurances with the key issue. I'm happy to have him involved either way, the work is needed.

Look really I dont know or trust you because before the coin was in this bad of shape you were doing some trolling too. If MsCollec trusts this dev and wants the help then I would go with it but atleast he should know and trust who he is handing the key too. He made this coin. We bought into it.  Although I have not seen a wallet update I also have not seen anything that says MsCollec can't be trusted.

please all be advised that my node 188.226.192.115 has been reactivated.
it seems that this is the least (and most) that I am being entitled to do for this coin.

best of luck in finding a new developer who is as competent as the friend I have previously asked to help.

Yes, let's do it right this time!

I almost sold all my SYNC, but because of the low price and the promise of a new dev leading this coin, I will HODL! Smiley

I absolutely agree. But if someone 10 times more competent comes along, I'm in favour of getting them involved, as the current situation is totally unacceptable. Everybody is losing money.

But I dont know who it is and I dont know if he is competent.  I do know there are alot of untrustworthy devs that make money making broken coins, ruining other coins, and taking advantage of communities in general. I do know that MsCollec has not shown any of these intentions and has produced a coin the performed flawlessly in pow and just has not fixed current pos issues which almost every pos coin has gone through.

With the private key you can change the specs. Thats the reason for a private key.

And who has that private key right now?

Yeah but if someone decides to make another 1000 coins what will it be worth then?

This coin has a cap of 10,000 coins. Read the spec.

Its still possible to fork and double spend.
