Blockchain seems to be stuck at block 2050374 using the latest version on windoze & Linux......
Since the last 6 blocks are Scrypt, my initial guess is a lot of SHA hashpower dropped off the network, and it's stuck mining a high Diff SHA block.

Blockexperts.com/arg looks like it's synced with the wrong fork. Network hash on the forked chain is decreasing quickly and is now less than 4GH

So far it looks like everything is back to normal. We've had a LOT of sequences of >= 4 with no issues so far.
