makes me feel happy at least and I am a keen amateur astronomer(when we get clear skies) so love to dream about the stars

Charlie Stross has another (rather similar) take on this at the-high-frontier-redux (I remember reading Gerard K O'Neill's High Frontier back in the 1970's when I was still at school, oh those heady days of optimism, sigh).

I have read quite a lot Fantasy/Science Fiction due not liking TV or Football my influences: Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick, H. G. Wells, J. R. R. Tolkien, Steve Jackson, Ian Livingstone, Douglas Adams to name a few
this is also reflected in my games for me its a way to create those worlds I dream of
Both good points like Utopian and bad points like Apocalyptic are used as they could be just as likely and make for good stories and game play
