Solo-mined for 3 hours with 3 graphics cards, got less than I would have gotten at the pool, even though the diff is much lower.

Huge spread in blocks, fastest was 5 minutes, slowest almost 2 hours.
After 3 hours I got 2 orphan blocks, used cgminer 3.1x on Win7 64 and latest wallet.
Just hate solomining...

Time to mine something else, that works...

I am working on having a pool hosted but they are having stratum issues. Hosting Co is in contact with BlueDragon and been given link to kr105's git source. So I hope it will be soon.

If you are setting up the pool. you have come across my pool giveaway thread? I have 100BLC giveaway for blakecoin pool Smiley post in the thread the pool link once you put it up. Smiley

Donate blakecoins

Been solo mining overnight as the pool is down and made 300BLC (quite a bit more than I'd have made on the pool), so I've donated another 50BLC to the giveaway.

I did PM kr105 to say the pool was down at around 9PM last night (GMT) but didn't get a reply. Perhaps BlueDragon can email him (I don't have his email address myself).

Pool is still offline.

Lost 15 hours of work since there is no fail-over pool for Blakecoin.

When will the next pool be released?

do you have any numbers for x/y? years/blc perhaps. i guess its impossible to know what difficulty will be at a given block in the future, but any estimates? im curious for example, when might inflation + block reward = 50?

How is this possible if the block reward does not halve?

if the block reward halve's you would never get more  Roll Eyes

Blakecoin is a inflation based coin and should be good for about 1500 years if we continue with bruteforce mining Grin

the inflation curve should be something like this:

X Axis = this would be block height
Y Axis = this would be difficulty

the idea is that the steepness of the curve is dictated by the difficulty of the network thus higher difficult blocks are worth more at a given block hieght but block height always increases block reward so that's how the inflation works in Blakecoin make sense?

It will generate at least 4 million BLC per year, and that amount will gradually increase due to the inflation (which is based on difficulty and block height). Not sure what that inflation will look like in a few years, but it should still be pretty negligible. But at 4 million per year (not counting inflation) it would take about 1500 years to generate all 7 billion BLC. With inflation its probably more like 500-1000 years. Please, if someone has done the math or has a graph for the inflation, I'd be curious to know what the projections are for that.

What do you guys think what this coin should be worth? Smiley I have been supporting the network with my hasing power. I am small guy just 2.3ghash/s. But now I am losing faith  Undecided

It's hard to estimate what it will be worth, but don't loose faith yet! Like bluedragon said, blakecoin is meant to be more stable and long term than other crypto coins. The only advantage early miners have is lower difficulty and more time to mine. some of those other coins mine 10x per block in the early weeks than a few months later, which is obviously only benefiting a few people. but if you want my speculation, i'd say blakecoins will likely will be at least 10 cents a piece initially. of course its pure speculation until it gets on an exchange.

yo bluedragon, do you think you can implement a new feature to the new wallet revision?
just to be able to automatically restart itself after a configurable amount of time Wink

another question:
what hw do i need to setup a blc pool and how much bandwidth for 100 or 1000 users?

Okay, should I let my 2.5g/s keep mining solo? I think we have too low mining speed to solve this block. I can leave it though. I just wanted to see the next difficulty retarget before I got to sleep, its 3AM here. lol

Same speed as me (1 x ztex + 1 x lancelot), it should be finding around a dozen blocks a day at the current diff. They will likely orphan though if we do have a fork, but that's just the luck of the game (and why pool mining is better, at least while its working). Best go to bed and check it in the morning, not worth losing sleep over.

alright Cheesy

I have a r9 280x currently solo mining blakecoin. The other gpu (asus 7950) is currently far from me. I will get it after 2 days Smiley But that asus 7950 was never able to solo mine any coin. I cant figure out why. even though I am really good at it. it never connects to my 127.0.0.1:port.  Undecided

I will maybe take you guys help on it as well Cheesy It has windows 7 and just normal settings windows installed. Still wont work. No matter which coin, which version of cgminer. Never connects to localhost. Works fine in pool mining. Smiley

have you tried its lan ip address and changing the port as long as the wallet conf and miner conf match it should work else check your firewall/anti virus

This block is taking too long. One more block for difficulty to retarget. Smiley

Yep it "feels" like there must be a connectivity issue even though I've got 14 peers ...

I'm on windows.  Undecided

Should still work, just omit the leading "./", create a .BAT file with the commands and run it in %APPDATA%/blakecoin. Best to open a DOS prompt first (shift-right-click on the folder) so you can see the result. Be sure to test it with small amounts (and your own addresses) before going live with it.
