12 TB worth of hard drives arrived today!  4 3000 GB Seagate Barracudas, and they all checked out good in HDTune and Hard Disk Sentinel.  Time to get them set up on computers and plotting!

All my computers were set up for GPU mining, so there aren't any super good processors.  An i3-4130, a Celeron G550, an AMD FX 4130, and a Sempron 145 unlocked to Athlon 4450 dual core.

This will take a while.

2.72 TB divided by 256 KB, minus a GB or two for miner files.........

I really hate how it is technically 3 trillion bytes in size and they have the balls to tell you that is 3.00 GB instead of the 2.72 GB it actually is.

What happens if there is an overlap solo mining?
What happens if there is an overlap pool mining?

waste of space. basically like having 2 of the same lottery ticket. but you can only win one

I may have overlapped by 1.

all the sudden two different miners running on different wallets on two different computers both got a "unable to get mining info from wallet" what causes this?

V2 Pool balance

Due to a bug, the v2 pool overpaid some users. I have fixed what I believe caused the issue, and I sent some of my own coins to the pool to cover the difference in balance.

what should disc I/o be reading per TB? it isnt going to read the whole disc, right it "skims through it" ?

Yes it reads only a part of it. 256MB/TB of plots.

nice its like you knew exactly what my read IO would be Cheesy

ICO? Not even once.
I think you are using 2 different burst accounts and not realizing it.
14167073019037351783 is one account.
16130962611852019868 is a second account which those plots are tied to, and I assume you also have the passphrase to.

Aw man! That's what happens when I keep copy pasting the passphrase because the site won't save it and I left in an extra space at the end. Thanks again!

I also started solomining on the same plots for the same duration but both java.exe's only read ~22 GB of data in over half a day.

how do you know how much data is getting read? I would love to verify that all my plots are being used correctly

Windows Task Manager, View menu, Slect Columns, tick I/O read bytes then on the Processes tab bext to java.exe you should see (in win7).

@burstcoin I did the assigment and my number is 14167073019037351783

Difficulty is rising too fast.  Those buying hdds now better not dump too soon at current price to cover the cost.

Hey guys - Asked earlier but no one replied; I have 8 TB of Harddrive space that I would like to use to mine Burst, Can someone please tell me the optimal number of coins on average I can expect to get per day when everything is configured as it should be?

Also, does the other hardware have any impact on the mining? Only using a i5 3570k and 8GB of DDR3 - is that enough to get the most out of the hard drives?

Cheers!

I think now it's probably around 1000/tb/day
