I must say i am very eager to know how the tests of the dev went for the v2 pool.
This will be awesome. You will be able to use the the same plots you are using right now for solo-mining.
Should we make some kind of a community FB account to make BURST better known to the outside world?

If anyone ports it to Windows, you better make it one-click ready to install, I don't want to have to try compiling and coding the damn thing again like the original piece of crap miner program we are using now!
You are a whiner baby. Go to your mama. Maybe she codes you a 1-click-miner for your skill level. I'm very happy that you are not capable to use it. Reading is so hard.

I actually tend to agree, if you need a 1-click miner, then you shouldn't be mining. However, on the flip side, if you have a 1-click miner for your coin, you will attract and get more people to use it...
But what I see as more important is an easy to setup wallet, which I believe burst already has, but I guess things could always get easier.

It has several advantages over the one written in Java:
- About twice as fast
- Support for larger stagger sizes, only limited by system memory
- More efficient memory handling. With just 3GB you can use Stagger size 8191, with 8GB 24000 is possible. Plots with larger stagger sizes are better, as they require less disk seeks to be read.
You need a 64bit Linux environment to run this. Maybe someone can port it to Windows?
How to run it:
Download, unpack (tar -xzf plotgenerator.tgz), compile (make)
Then use the same command line options as with the Java-generator:

Nope. Just need to generate the plots from the address generated from the Burst payout address on the pool page. Then run the pool miner. Just look at the steps for pool mining: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8448276

Pool is better for 500GB, solo you have very little chance with the plot size.
If you don't have 2TB or more, pool mining is better. Right now, it's best to have 4TB or more to solo mine.
He is totally right.
I have a 800GB miner running and it hasn't seen a block for almost 3 days now. But I have 1TB on the pool and its paying consistently.
Once the dev releases the pool V2 the pool payouts will get A LOT smaller so I would start as soon as you can. He posted that he is testing V2 now.
He might have it done as early as today or tomorrow, on Sunday he projected around 3 to 5 days. I think once v2 of the pool is out, more than likely everyone with 4TB or less is going to mine it. Probably people with larger arrays of storage will still solo.

I Have 280x rig too but i think is ok now with CPU mining.
CPU mining, this is hdd mining. CPU only for plots generation. I remember in an earlier post the dev said a 280X does 1TB in about 4.6 hours at 200 watts with a gpu plot generator. But he never elaborate if it will be released or not.
yes but cpu never stop... the difficulty is too high after only 2 weeks .many XEON is here and make the difference fast cpu fast plot many blocks .....this coin need both cpu&hdd

as long as we can stop the digitalocean etc. 'cloud mining' from being the next ASIC's to ruin it.
if dev keeps this as a truly 'cpu' minable coin, it will have a nice niche.
