has anyone a "proofed" formular to estimate the used plotfile terrabytes of the network based on the baseTarget the miner shows?
my idea is to say something like this:
8tb plots mine 1 block a day at a baseTarget of 20,000,000 --> 1tb mines 1/8th block a day --> network mines 360 blocks with 360*8*1tb which is 2.88 pb
based on this i may say baseTarget of 20,000,000 is linear to the network plots of 2880tb.
this results in this formular: (20,000,000/baseTarget)*2880tb=network plots in tb
if i apply the current values of block 3332 to this it results in a network plot size of 1448 terrabyte.
has anyone better numbers to start this calculation with or can tell me if i do something wrong?

Have any of you tried using portable usb 3 drives? i can get hold of some 2tb ones for just over £40!!!!
I'm using usb3 sata bridges at the moment and they're working but being powered by mains not sure how usb powered
drives would affect mining. any thoughts? might just grab one tomorrow and find out.
worst case scenario spare drive I suppose.

As long as they are USB 3 your good to go. The dev talked about this too.
It will take you a LONG time to write the plots so get them as soon as you can if you are going to. I would build plots for the pool rather than for solo mining too.

also have 3 computers i can generate plots with so it doesn't take too long
I am running 1 4TB USB powered drive on a VM, only using 800GB of the space, but it seems to be fine!

NRS info item in your wallet - Total Balance: 16659996I asked a question about that earlier, bur didn't get a full answer. The "Total Balance" under NRS info shows just over 16 Million Coins, but according to the Block Rewards we should be sitting with a Total balance of just over 33 Million. Which value is the correct current supply?
Someone this afternoon tolds that maybe the total balance is only about the confirmed coin! It's not possible?!
I think the 'Total Balance' contains only 'Guaranteed Balance' 1440+ confirmations ... so if you add it up 1440*10000+'Total Balance' you are in the same range than BlockCount*10000 ... not sure what happens with coins going to BURST-2222-2222-2222-22222 (added to next block?) ... just my interpretation ...

The confirmed coin part is a leftover effect from the NXT code. The dev already talked about this. Im sure he will get it fixed but its not at the top of his list right now
Its simple guys. There has been 10,000 Burst per block. Just multiply 10,000 by the block height and you have the supply. Currently about 33 million

360*10000=3600000 daily generated coins

Burst is falling like a rock on nxt AE
Not many people using it yet, and it seems to actually have gone way up from yesterday. So it seems fine to me.
