So I understand that Burst is mineable solely with hard drive space. So is it better to get a very large traditional 7200 RPM drive or is it better to get an SSD? Does using an external drive (USB 2.0 or Firewire) affect performance? Can the drive be hooked up to a low performance laptop?

If anyone wants to contribute data on a google spreadsheet I set up a couple days, here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uaXMLjLt90Ms1oRjcjz-eYPOkARtNS8JdrKFKOJdg4o/edit?usp=sharing

Very good, thanks! I'll add my stats as soon as possible! I've to check my home pc with TeamViewer because I'm not at home!

Cool, thanks. This will help the community out....

BTC is in the process of bottoming.

As altcoin market is a proxy of the BTC market, we can expect altcoin to rise as soon as BTC will start increasing in value.

As much as I would like to trade my BURST in a proper exchange. maybe it is not a bad idea to wait a bit more before listing it.

Just a thought.

That's the trend for the past couple of years. It happen once or twice a year.

I know this is off topic, but damn, Cloakcoin is tanking. Super cheap coins though...lol

The update to 1:02 worked well. Nice that you have to back up any files.

I raise even plots, soon I'm at 25TB. Smiley

25 TB, where do you need that for?  Grin

.. Now do you understand why you cannot find any block!??  Cheesy
+1, 1.5TB have not found a block for two days Cheesy, with more and more people buys large hdd, difficulty raise fast, but i think it is not bad, because it will raise the cost mining this coin, when my 1.5TB can mine < 1000 burst a month, it must be because it is on the fly Grin wish i can see that day

I'm mining with 1 x 400 gb plot and 2 x 600 gb plots for 1.5 days now but I have not found a block yet. Is this normal?

I had 3 drives with separate plots (500GB each) and was getting nothing for nearly 4 days. Then I did a JBOD and made one big plot of 1.5TB. Now I found 2 blocks in 3 days, 2 within 24 hours and still generating the plot(40% complete). Maybe luck or maybe the mining does favor one large plot, just speculation.

Ok, I was one of the first miner but now.. I cannot compete!!  Cheesy

Wait until someone in China get's hold of this. They'll probably use a server farm with peta/exa-bytes, that would suck....

I'll try it at 500.  When I click the run.bat file in the wallet folder, it'll scroll a few paragraphs of numbers and end up at "Burst server 1.0.2. started successfully", then it'll sit there and do nothing else.  Delete most of my id file from your post.

And why isn't it accessing the web page successfully?

Last lines of my wallet window say:

2014-08-17 22:17:23 INFO: Started peer networking server at 0.0.0.0:8123
2014-08-17 22:17:23 INFO: Started API server at 127.0.0.1:8125
2014-08-17 22:17:23 INFO: Burst server 1.0.2 started successfully.
2014-08-17 22:17:24 INFO: nxt.apiServerEnforcePOST = "true"

and nothing more from yestarday, and it works! When I open http://localhost:8125/ I see the login page. Is it like your?

Try to generate plot with my cmd, without all **** near the parameters and tell me! Copy it exactly as it is!

Here's my run_generate file (with the pause command included at the end):

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate *134299XXXXXXXXXXXX07* *1* *80000* 1000 4
 pause

(I put those 12 X's in my id file on purpose for this post, and I set it to 80000 to use 20 GB of hard drive space)

And trying to open the 1.0.2 wallet's internet link, it says the page cannot be accessed, localhost:8125 is unavailable.  It tries to go to http//localhost:8125/ for the web address.

I even Copy and Pasted the wallet and miner folders right into thr C: directory on my hard drive, from being in the Users / Computer /Downloads folder, and that didn't help.

The pause command in run_generate shows this this in the command line window:  Exception in thread "main" java.lang.numberformatexception.  For input string "*134".

My generated id file starts with 134.

Try this:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 134299XXXXXXXXXXXX07 1 80000 500 4

And before open the web page of the wallet, have you started run.bat in the same folder?

Is there a new richlist somewhere?
The link to the code is somewhere in this thread. You can run it yourself and make an up to date list Smiley

yes... but the rich list is taken to block under 2000... it is old now

Found it, thx
http://pastebin.com/9mHBgWte

i can see a lot of address with amount of burst different from total block mined!!!

the trading become real!!!
