[---]

I will, however, donate the whole sum to the nest Smart Contract, a crowdfunding case, that we most likely will launch in a few hours.

[---]

I would like to expand on this a bit.

Technically our Devs are ready to launch the first crowdfunding (CF) case as we planned to do, but during intensive and very constructive discussions on the subject, a number of new ideas emerged.

One of them concerned a roadmap specifically for CF cases handled by the PR Team. From the responses here and on BurstForum.com, we can identify a rather limited number of CF cases. Considering that, we'd like to have a flexible roadmap, where all Bursters can suggest a new case at any time. Priorities might change with time. Conclusively, we'd like to create a roadmap highly influenced by the community and various supporters. It's you - miners and traders - who really experience BURST's needs now as well as when new emerge.

Acting responsible must involve listen to the community to a large extent. A successful CF will require community support. Launching today, as we had planned, we'd simply risked not to earn your trust. We will present a flexible model how to manage these "Community-supported Crowd-funding Cases".

Due to this, and a few other issues discussed, we agreed to postpone the launch of the first (of many) CF cases in about ~24 hours. Offering, among other things, a flexible roadmap.

Where exactly can I find instructions to participate in LuckyAT lottery?

Besides the quoted text by vbcs, I want to point out that we are working on a more detailed guide. Also, in future versions of the wallet, it will be a lot easier to find the ATs like to recurrent LuckyAT.

Hot annoucement directly from the PR Team:

Soon @vbcs will release the Crowdfunding AT Beta! There you can support or create a new crowdfunding for your future big project, helping a social cause like a charity for Ebola or "Save the Children", scientific investigations, or to get funds to record your music. All the funds will go to the owner of the CF if he gets the 100% of the funds by the closing date. Smiley

Remember that you can keep updated on Burst in our twitter @real_BURSTCOIN, follow us!

Hahaha, Congratulations mmmaybe. You bought more than one ticket right?
I'm happy that it worked and the price is going to be donated to the Crowdfund case! I would do the same...

Incredible work guys, all of you. We need the necessary .html files implemented into the Wallet for everybody out there.

I need to buy some more Burst...

I bought a few as I assisted vbcs' when he started LuckyAT a week ago. Everything for BURST, right? Anyways, it will go back to BURST now.

Congratulations on winning the first ever decentralized lottery draw! Also nice work donating it all back.

I think i might go and win the second now Tongue

Where exactly can I find instructions to participate in LuckyAT lottery?
Hey,

Today I am going to deploy the first AT use case: The Lottery AT.

I created a new account ( BURST-2Z98-XJU6-A2UA-FDKZP ), which will be used to send funds to the Lottery without participating in the draw. That way we can "kickstart" the lottery with an amount for the first draw to create more interest and winnings for the winner of the first decentralized lottery using AT. So any funds send to that address will be send back to Lottery AT account.

I am thinking the ticket size to cost 2000 burst. The lottery fees for processing the txs are about 15burst. So the final amount to participate to the lottery will be 2015 burst. If you think the ticket amount is too big or too small please say so.

The lottery will pay the winner the total worth of tickets purchased approx. every 1 week plus all extra that were sent to the special address to help seed the Lottery payout

When participating to the lottery, the AT will create a random ticket for you after 15 blocks. The ticket is sent back to the participant through a normal tx with the ticket ( in hex format ) included as a message. Due to a limitation of the AT txs only one ticket can be send back as a message to each participant per block, although if you send more in one block the AT always draws a ticket for each different tx, so that limitation does not mean you will not get more tickets per block per tx if you make multiple purchases.

I created a .html file which needs to be copied under the directory /html/ui/ inside burst folder. After you copy the html file you can use the browser to access it ( http://localhost:8125/atlotteries.html  ). The html displays the lottery state (current winner account, total current winnings e.t.c) and provides also a button for quick ticket purchase.
Here is a screenshot of the resulted .html : https://i.imgur.com/Pz8H2SQ.png

If you are using http://localhost:8125 to access your burst wallet then download this version:
https://mega.co.nz/#!KcZiTBBS!V5SobUhbDGu7Dcw2un1jGszIM3Scl0e3feK9wduKPlU

else if you are using http://127.0.0.1:8125 to access burst wallet this version:
https://mega.co.nz/#!GBhwCTAD!NucXtJh7o9h-4R_gJafnY7xVlgbKJ5IEZ0tA7AYadyM

Also here you can see the lottery's code that will be deployed here : http://pastebin.com/xiDdMzEG

- vbcs

As you know, LuckyAT is the first ever turing complete and fully decentralized Smart Contract. The launch of it last week gave us a lot of media attention.

A couple of hours ago, LuckyAT reached block 62281, and the winner was picket, as programmed. 137,000 BURST was, just as planned, shortly thereafter transfered to the winner's account! Close to 70 tickets were thus bought to be part of cryptocurrency history.

Remember that LuckyAT is running all the time, programmed to find a winner after about 7 days. You can already now buy tickets for next draw (and some already have). Due to the success we are working one a little better guide on how to buy tickets. In future versions of the wallet, these Smart Contracts will be included and you can find them just by a click.

Here is a picture[ of the amount after it has been transfered by LuckyAT. And, yes, the strange thing is that I won the lottery...

I will, however, donate the whole sum to the nest Smart Contract, a crowdfunding case, that we most likely will launch in a few hours.

More info on that will follow about the next case. A press release will also be issued on that. If BTT is down you can follow the new on Twitter - https://twitter.com/real_BURSTCOIN - or on BurstForum.com.

Does somebody know the approx. release date of POC2 (weeks/months)? I am considering to buy few new disks and plot it with POC2... As I understand it will be less resource (CPU/RAM) consuming.

Thanks

Well very little considering connection is DC Input   5V / 4A input, Plug specification is inner diameter 2.1mm and outer diameter 5.5mm

Which power adaptor should I use?
We recommend 5V 4A adaptor. Inner diameter is 2.1mm, outer diameter is 5.5mm. Center is Positiver an Outer is Negative.
Normally ODROID-XU3 consumes about 1~2Amp in most cases. But it can go up to 4A when the computing load is very high with a few USB devices.

So is using a 2 Amps then this would work out to be 10 watts on load or 0.01Kw

And if Pi is using 4A this would work out to be 20 watts on load or 0.02Kw

So it is using next to nothing compared to a standard system.

Waiting for them to be available to buy again as seems sold out and waiting on restock

I wonder if one of them bad boys is enough power and juice and resources in it compared to the older Pi that only have 1 core and 512mb ram

Wow, looks promising~~ But what is the power consumption? This is very important because someone here use low-end computer that is cheap and yet expandable (SATA PCI card to more harddisk).

Since I only know the basics of batch file commands, I did a search on Stack Overflow for an alternative method of launching the wallet that will not be affected by the version of Java installed. I found other solutions like scanning the registry for the version of Java and then running from that particular folder, but the solution below was less complicated.

Using the FOR loop from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/638301/discover-from-a-batch-file-where-is-java-installed, I created the following bat file because I use Java 8 and uninstalled Java 7. It will search for java.exe and set a variable called JAVA_HOME. The command to start the wallet is the same as the original run.bat.  Feel free to test it out or if it does not work, I can post another solution that has worked for me. I added the first IF statement so the FOR loop would not run every time, but that IF may need to be removed if the batch file does not work after a Java update.  If you see something wrong, feel free to make the correction.

Code:
@ECHO off
IF %JAVA_HOME%.==. (
FOR /f %%j in ("java.exe") DO (
    SET JAVA_HOME=%%~dp$PATH:j
)
)

IF EXIST %JAVA_HOME% (
start "BURST" "%JAVA_HOME%\java.exe" -cp burst.jar;lib\*;conf nxt.Nxt
) ELSE (
    ECHO Java software not found on your system. Please go to http://java.com/en/ to download a copy of Java.
PAUSE
)

I posted this a little while back, but it is a universal run.bat file that does not depend on what java version is installed.

Was wondering where that went to as I had that in an old version. Thank you for posting this universal run.bat one. I will be adding this into the guide Smiley

hey everyone so im new here, i want to mine burst, first off the mining calculator projects that with a 1tb drive youd gt approx 6,000 burst per day, is that accurate in a pool or just solo mining or both? also i try to run the wallet and it says i dont have java installed when i do i have java 8 installed on a 64 bit windows machine, any ideas? i need a very detailed setup guide, thanks!

Check the calculator again. I'm at 40 to 50 TB (lost count) and i think i'm getting like somewhere between 10K and 20K burst a day on average over a longer period (solo mining). sometimes it is days between i win blocks (which give like 7000 or so each atm.) sometimes i get 4-5-6 blocks in a day.  but over time, and counting in snafu's with the hardware, i would guestimate i average about 10 to 20 thous. burst a day using 40 to 50 TB.  that's way south of 6K for 1TB.

With having so much plotted how do you have this configured are you just using some device to attach them all to like usb hub etc or connected to computer and in rack  layout

I have 10 4TB usb drives attached to 3 computers, and then on top of that, 4 more older USB disks, and something like 10 internal harddisks where i use spare space for plot files.

each harddisk is being mined by its own miner (the original POC java miner), and each computer runs one wallet that all the miners talk to.

Probably not the most effecient setup, but this is what worked for me back in the days, after some tweaking, so i have stayed with it.

Also mine with 3 GPU's from time to time, when i find sometning that is worth mining. You can mine GPU and POC at the same time on the same box, which is neat.

Section 1 of 6 sections of guide is done if I do not get it done over the weekend it will be done over the next few as have a lot on me plate but getting parts of it done as and when one can.

Also has anyone tried to do the following.

Generated plots and then used a Raspberry Pi with USB controller with external HDDs with filled plots on to mine with. if so what are your results was the Pi upto the challenge of mining and being good at it or was a fail??

We have been discussed about raspberry pi a few days ago, seems like someone tried it and said 8GB is the max (could be the slowliness of USB2.0). BTW, crowetic mentioned that he wanted to setup a raspberry pi, we are waiting on his result  Grin
