Isn't Dooglus competent enough to fix some stuff in CLAM ?

dooglus is one of the most competent individuals to touch the code base, yes.
This is ignoring an important point, however.

Anyone can work on the code base.
We are all volunteers.

Have an idea for branding?
Have a fix for a specific bug?
Awesome new feature?
Submit it to the repository.

Just bear in mind, if it requires consensus we will expect to see a convincing portion of the staking community signalling for it via CLAMour.

This coin need rebranding and developers. How much will cost to buy private ownership from developer (aka SuperClam)?

CLAM isn't 'privately owned'; thus, it can't be privately purchased.

This should be particularly clear with CLAM, given the CLAMspeech/CLAMour feature which literally shifts development decisions to the community.
I think anyone who has been following the core/bitmain/segwit2x kerfuffle might appreciate that fact.
Economic majority == miners in CLAM.
Anyone attempting to change CLAM would bear the burden of proof of the support of both parties.

Anyone looking for specific support would probably be best served by visiting #clams on freenode irc, or Just-Dice.com.
Shapeshift has been contacted, by multiple 'devs', but has neglected to seek assistance with whatever problem they are having with the client.

The community should consider answers from dooglus, xploited, creativecuriosity, tryphe, kefkius, v1rtu0so, smooth, or even BayAreaCoins as authoritative.
All have been involved with CLAM for ages and have either coding experience or deep knowledge with the network and/or client.

EDIT: Removed a nested quote, so the poor soul gets less unrelated responses Smiley

Thanks, was a nightmare to Google search this thread. Maybe I should call it iATH - intentional all-time-high.

Though, serfsup: https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_clam shows High: 0.02250000 when I set zoom to all, but I can't find/fix my pointer to that on the graph.

Yes, this sounds right, i recall selling some at 0.02 each and holding the rest in anticipation of a further push, which never materialized!  Grin

This week, in replies that don't answer my quote... ^

The all time high for CLAM was on Bittrex.

It traded 1 for 1 with Bitcoin.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12629211

I wonder if that trade got reversed?  It was obviously a mistake.  Clams are worth at least 2 btc each.  Wink

I do not believe that it was reversed and I agree with you  Grin Cool

Clamcoin futures are trading around 2.2BTC in my imagination!

Poloniex shows a high of 0.0144 btc on August 15, 2015.

Coinmarketcap shows a high of .01364320 btc on August 12, 2015.  Not sure which exchange they were using for that price point though.

What do we all think was the BTC/CLAM all-time high, and on which exchange?
This coin need rebranding and developers. How much will cost to buy private ownership from developer (aka SuperClam)?

It definitely needs development at least to fix bugs like the syncing problem and could use marketing too. There is a story to tell here that is interesting and perhaps compelling but no one is telling it.

My take (no inside info) is that the original dev has either dumped and doesn't care or has gotten rich enough from this coin and/or other crypto gains and doesn't care. But either way, it's a zombie type coin that needs some love.

Thanks for the infos. What i want to know is why did it take 4 days. I have sent coins (never clams) many time from wallets that are not fully synced and the transactions always gone through immediately. But with clams it took 4 days. What was the reason?

You can see on the block explorer that the transaction wasn't incorporated until 27th Aug. Perhaps it wasn't broadcast to the network properly (or rather, at all.) Is it possible you shut down your client prematurely? My guess is that you restarted your client on 27th Aug, your transaction was rebroadcast (successfully) at that time, and it was subsequently incorporated into a block.

My wallet was on almost 24h a day since the 23/08 as per my previous posts here just to get it fully synced.

I think there is a bigger issue that needs to be addressed and that could be the reason shapeshift dropped the coin weeks ago by the looks of it.

Don't panic. Your transaction has been incorporated into the blockchain, and right now, the recipient will have access to cleared funds. Smiley

You can send a transaction without needing to be fully synced, so although your client doesn't yet see the transaction in the blockchain, due to your lagging sync, the network has accepted the transaction and it is showing to anyone who is synced.

You can see it on the block explorer: http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/CLAM/block.php?blockhash=4e6152ae975b78cf7fb7cc338c75132a83cc71d9bbb61c97d59478e9ed3c726f

As for the sync issue, this has been a problem for some time, and no one is quite sure why it happens. I've personally observed peers sending the same blocks multiple times (not sure why), and also lots of apparent orphan pollution (or, perhaps, blocks sent out of order.) All I can suggest is to periodically exit and restart the client.

Thanks for the infos. What i want to know is why did it take 4 days. I have sent coins (never clams) many time from wallets that are not fully synced and the transactions always gone through immediately. But with clams it took 4 days. What was the reason?

My wallet is now 9days behind mainly thanks to adding IP nodes.
