are they buying alt coins based on the price of coinbase? like https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/ for example
Who is "they"?

is there no sort of Confirmation when participating in Crowdsale\ICO? I've sent the money from Jaxx.
If you used BTC, there is no showing balance in the dashboard. Not that this matters; just check your transaction using any blockchain explorer.

the BTC counter is 967 btc right now.
It should break 1000 BTC today.

But the problem is, that it gives just the bitcoin address not the bitcoin private key. So it does not go as the instructions tell. What is the problem? Is there some bug in the exodus?
It could be a bug. See if there is an available update to the software and try that; or contact the Exodus team.

So I gues I should not send bitcoins from exodus to nvo.io before I realle can be sure that I have the private key?
Correct.

Should I use Jaxx instead?
I recommend Electrum or just using counterwallet right away.

Can I invest from a bitcoin address that I control and receive my nvot tokens in a different bitcoin address that I also control? Basically sending from X address and receiving in Y address?
Why would you want to do that? Just send your BTC to that 'different Bitcoin address' and invest from it.

I sent some money as well, although I don't like the trading practices of coin base, the platform on which the ICO was advertised. Please don't scam me outta my mulah

thanks and cheers

Very interesting project! Spot on for me, since I am quite new on this, I feel that this may help me as lots of this is "too technical" at many levels.
And I would like to take the opportunity to ask a stupid question -  is there no sort of Confirmation when participating in Crowdsale\ICO? I've sent the money from Jaxx.

The crowdsale is nearing its end, 3days left, I would like to start the phase No2, we are looking for consulting developers to check the development specifications.

A knowledge of the solutions proposed by blockstream is greatly desired. We avoided using Ethereum for security reasons, because in case of a flaw, it would be possible to extract the funds from the wallets, which would lead to a scenario like the DAO. Waves has not yet implemented such functions.

The validator will be a wrapper around the technologies offered by blockstream, in case the technology changes, or is not sufficiently adapted, so that the validator won't be affected and will save its versatility.

We did not want to consult directly with companies, we wanted to talk to the community first and see what they think about it, because it's a decentralized project. I invite you to send me your resume in private message, I would contact you thereafter.

As regards to the profile :

- Experience desired in the technologies offered by blockstream.
- Experience in blockchain architecture.
- Experience in software engeneering.
- Experience in decentralized projects.

- Open minded.
- Supports remote work.
- Dynamic and innovative.

The aim of this recruitment is to set up a team composed of IT devs and consultants in blockchain technologies, in order to prepare the project's requirements, check the specifications and set up a viable roadmap in relation to development based on the objectives of the project.

Thank you for your participation.

so... where does it say how many NVOT one will receive with X investment deposit for the crowd sale?

It doesn't 'say' anywhere... depends on where the total $ raised ends up at the end of crowdsale timer.

At the moment it's a reasonable guess they'll hit something in the ballpark of $5 million.

So rough estimate dividing 15 million tokens to that, we're looking at each one being about $0.33 cents or thereabouts.

Maybe different if more is raised in the remaining time, but that's a current approximate ballpark.

1 BTC today is at about $2600-ish so for every BTC (or equivalent of altcoins) invested "now" you can guess you'll get maybe 7,878.78 tokens Wink

Again, this is just "current GUESS" and we'll see where it all ends up in just a few more days Wink

thanks for the feed back.. thats kind of what i gathered..

i edited my post thats.. just above your post.

i think i understand the deposit aspect too...

(this stuff is DEF NOT user friendly yet... and WOW.. the day it becomes easy for older people
to do this stuff or even participate in the crypto coin world.. too the moon batman )

so... where does it say how many NVOT one will receive with X investment deposit for the crowd sale?

depends on how much the crowdsale ends

15.000.000 NVOT will be generated / total usd of crowdsale * your contribution = your NVOT

hum... i think you got the NVOT and crowdsale total swapped... i dont think thats correct....

So to make sure i got it right...

Say the current sale is around 4.5million USD...
So that gives me..

 4,500,000USD(current crowdsale ~total) \ 15,000,000NVOT  = .3 cents USD...

So if i deposited $600 worth of LITECOIN at the time... or BTC... or WAVES.. doesnt matter really.. just the
DOLLAR amount matters id assume AT THAT moment of deposit???

600 bucks divided by .30 = 2000... so then id get roughly 2000 NOVT??  with the CURRENT numbers of course...
(of course stuff will change lol.. im talking RIGHT NOW.. just to get the math formula down)

All i have to do is tie a BTC address to that NVO crowd sale site...
then im guessing the addresses given to me for the other coins.. for instance LTC... i just
deposit what ever I want to deposit into that address?? and that will be my investment into
the NVOT ??

i get that correct?

im not really "NEW NEW" to this stuff.. just newer to the ICO crowd sale stuff.

Lol the person that's all upset about the escrows should realise that they all own physical bitcoins so their names/addresses must be known by now. Or at least their P.O. box hahaha.

Blazed has escrowed much more than this with no issues, minerjones is another big escrow and never had an issue (by issue of course I mean no funds were ever stolen). Lauda? Well if it was just Lauda I'd be a little wary. Cats have weird personalities. I can't trust a cat person 100%. That's why my wife doesn't hold my private keys (well that and if she did we would have a new fence, car, bathroom and 0 bitcoins). If Lauda somehow convinces another escrow to go AWOL we'll just track her down and take her to the vet

Just kidding, Lauda is a nice kitty.

I'm still debating doubling my investment. I'll probably wait until the last day (then knowing me I'll forget and regret it forever). Passive income isn't something you come by every day and not being an ERC20 token is great. There are way too many of those right now.

Thanks for the clarification sir. You the real MVP

No problem... happy to help

(And BTW there's too much FUD going on in this thread lately: it makes me think this project is really yanking some people's chains?  That makes me like it even more than I did at first, LOL... i.e. if this project is a "threat" to "certain parties" then it means they're doin' somethin' right, eh? LOL)

I hope no one else invests so that my portion is bigger Wink I probably won't start FUD though as that could be detrimental to the project in the long run. Boy I think highly of myself don't I?

I disagree. True newbies should not, and often do not, assume the worst and mostly just ask questions either directly related to the investment process or the project itself. Not that there are no exceptions.
hmm ... thats also true ... maybe its a little bit from everything which causes the FUD.

Lets hope it is this one Smiley :

Hope this reaches a 1000 btc investment making path for a big growth on after sale.
Less than 120 BTC left till 1000 BTC. The total amount invested is over $4.5m.

Why more fud?
more attention to the masses -> more newbies like me enter the game -> more questions -> more fud

You have a point there...

Even though I was sceptical, this made me join the crowdsale.
That's one way of looking at it. Wink

... and some things need a little bit more explanation for newbies, f. e. what a counterwallet is, is not clear to everybody, try to google it, its not so easy to find a good explanation for beginner.
FUD is much spread by the newbies, which might be a cause due to lack of understanding or because of the issues that happened with the website in between. Now everything is clear and the website too have provided the perfect data regarding the time period for the ICO. The people who have committed to the project is highly knowledged and has given the best explanation they can.

Yes, I also noticed that too. The crowdsale is nearing its ending and the more we are closer to the date, a lot of FUD, and questions are asked that from my vantage point is somewhat attacking the project itself and the escrows behind. What's the reason behind? Oh well, your guess is as good as mine.

Need some help here.
I've registered for this NVO Crowdsale and imputed my bitcoins public key. I then see that the different currency fields on the left of my screen are now all filled with different addresses. So what gives now as I'm confused by their instructions? Are they requiring a donation to give and so get back proportionately, or do you just wait for the next step? Thanks.
