The Crowncoin Movement Launch:  What does it mean?

One of the things that we think is essential in creating a community is providing incentives for people to work for the greater good of the movement. To achieve this we have created Crowncoin. Everyone has a chance to become an owner of CRW and thereby own a piece of the movement.

CRW Distribution Model

Our model for how to distribute CRW is unique. Unlike most new crypto-coins, CRW it had not been sold in a crowdsale or ICOs. Instead, we will be giving CRW away as a reward for people who contribute to the movement. One of the easiest ways to earn CRW will be to publicize the movement through social media. Another way will be to actively contribute within the Crowncoin community.

We plan on giving away CRW until there are 5 million accounts created through our Slack community channel. Our goal is to build a substantial community foundation of people who are  interested in CRW. As in all things, the start is always the most difficult, so we plan to scale the rewards accordingly. Therefore, it is highly advantageous to engage early and begin accumulating CRW. The first opportunity to earn CRW will be through Twitter.

Just as a reminder before continuing…the movement is just beginning and while we have a vision for how things will work, we reserve the right to change things at any time. So don’t take what comes next as set in stone.  We are also starting EXTREMELY small and building from here. We will learn A LOT in these early days and modifications will be necessary. We are already planning to modify the initial CRW smart contract and this will require CRW holders to send us these initial tokens in exchange for the new ones. Because we already know this, we have put an asterix after CRW to remind everyone that  Crowncoin is still in development. As early adopters, certain inconveniences such as this should be expected.

How To Earn CRW

Step 1: Download your Crowncoin wallet here if you haven't already. http://crowncoin.org/wallet.php

Step 2: Sign up below with your email, twitter account and crowncoin address https://crowncoin.wufoo.com/forms/crowncoin-movement/  and join our Slack #crowcoinmovement channel  here: https://crowncoin.slack.com/messages/crowcoinmovement/

Step 3: Send a tweet which includes @Crowncoin1 and a message promoting the movement. You must tag @Crowncoin1 in the tweet. We currently use #crwmovement and #crwevolution but feel free to inform us of any additional hashtags you use.

Step 4: Continue to tweet and post on social media. Initially you will only receive a CRW reward once per week no matter how many tweets you send during that week. However, we will start to add additional bonus rewards for things such as retweets and likes you receive. And of course, we will add new social media platforms where you can earn rewards.

Step 5:  Encourage your friends to name you as the person who referred them. We know we can’t do this alone, so as a reward for getting someone to sign up we will give you 1% of all the CRW they ever make out of the rewards during the movement. But we won’t steal the CRW from them, we will just add it as an additional bonus.

Current Vision For How Rewards Will Scale:

PHASES OF THE MOVEMENT

Phase 1: ENLIGHTENMENT
First 1000 CRW Slack accounts
500 CRW per tweet

Phase 2:  AWARENESS
1000-10,000 CRW Slack accounts
300 CRW per tweet

Phase 3:  EMERGENCE
10,000-100,000 CRW Slack accounts
100 CRW per tweet

Phase 4: EMPOWERMENT
100,000-1,000,000 CRW Slack accounts
10 CRW per tweet

Phase 5:  ACCEPTANCE
1,000,000-5,000,000 CRW Slack accounts
1 CRW per tweet

From the scale above it is important to note that even if you are one of the first 1000 accounts, you will only earn the reward of 1000 CRW per tweet while we are in that phase.  As soon as we enter the next reward phase you will see a reduction in your reward and receive the same amount as all the newcomers.

Reward Distribution Periods

The first reward distribution will take place a month from now around July 20, 2016. We will tabulate and publish the rewards each week, but your CRW will only arrive once a month in the beginning. We are still working to automate this process and we don’t want to over commit on the frequency of reward transactions. However, we hope to increase the frequency in the near future. This will also give us a chance to monitor and make adjustments.

How To Discourage Scammers

We understand that our distribution model is not scam proof. There are many people who will try to game the system including professional click-farms which can erode what we are trying to achieve. We don’t have the time or people to chase all the scammers down. So we are asking YOU, the community, to hunt them down for us. As a reward, we will offer large CRW bounties for conclusive evidence of scammer accounts. Our initial bounty for anyone who finds a scammer will be 50,000 CRW. To aid you in this effort, we will publish all the social media accounts with their associated CRW rewards in advance so community members can sniff out the scammers before they receive the reward. The definition of what is a scammer will become better defined, but basically anyone who tries to game the system by setting up multiple accounts or uses a network designed to create the illusion of popularity is a scammer. Scammers damage the reputation of CRW as well as decrease the value of YOUR holdings. Let’s shut these jerks down!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

You have read the above statements and agree to have your social media username/handles published to the internet as well as any CRW token rewards you may earn. Once the tokens have been distributed to your account, the Crowncoin Movement is not responsible for securing your tokens. Any loss incurred once the tokens are in your possession will not be reimbursed. Any individual who engages in illegal activity, regardless of the jurisdiction, and employs the use of CRW the token in such actions, will be fully responsible and the Crowncoin Movement is not culpable in any way. The CRW token is not a security and does not represent any form of equity or share in a company. CRW rewards do not constitute employment with any corporate entity and does not entitle you to any compensation beyond the reward received. We reserve the rights to change any part of the reward system outlined above without prior notification and without community approval.

Also we are looking for translators of this announcement into various languages. There is a bounty for the translation. Just PM me if interested.

So what are you waiting for?!!! Get going and set up your Crowncoin wallet http://crowncoin.org/wallet.php and send out that first tweet!

It has been updated

Not a huge deal, but the Github link in the OP seems to be outdated.

Holy shit, that is a big deal!  Looking into it now.

Issue noted and will be resolved with the coming official update

The crw merged mining function was taken from namecoin. Can you try connecting namecoin to your pool if it does the same?

Hi,

I have recently discovered that if I have CRW running on my sha port, it blocks UNO and MYR from generating blocks. As soon as I disabled CRW, they began creating blocks again...

Is there a known conflict with these coins? Is there some conflict with chainid's or something?

Some insight would be great,

Thanks!

Is it known if this problem will be resolved?

Yes, this issue has been taken note of. It's one of the priority's for the dev team. We want as many Merge miners to mine crowncoin as we can, so this issue will be corrected. It would be super helpful if you could put some hash toward crowncoin and enforce the new linux client Cheesy

This still hasn't been fixed? After two months? No wonder merge mine pools don't add CRW. Miners won't mine CRW if it breaks their other coins either.

This should have been fixed within hours, not months.

Is this for some particular pool software? I merge mine CRW, MYR and UNO in my personal p2pool, and haven't had any trouble hitting UNO and MYR blocks.

Maybe a quick conversation with zpool about both of your pools codes would clear things up.

If Crackfoo cant but zyzzyva can mine all coins thogether, then it's not something wrong with our code, maybe Crackfoos pool code needs to change

I don't know what pool software crackfoo is running, but I do know than UNOMP has a known issue that it can only merge mine one coin. If you specify more than one merge mined coin to UNOMP, it'll act like everything's fine, but all the merge mine coins except one will reject found blocks. That's why I switched to p2pool. I'm not sure where software other than UNOMP and p2pool stands on this, though.

Great thanks for the info!

Do you have the source code link for the p2pool software?

I'm running the stock p2pool, as available here: https://github.com/p2pool/p2pool

I want to take responsibility to solve this problem but I need some help understanding exactly what the problem is.  I don't know the history.  How can it be recreated?  What needs to change?
