You probably won't get any kind of "true" anonymity from DarkSend. As you can see, inputs are 10-10-10 and the published analysis of input/output matching for coinjoin can't apply for DarkSend.

There are other weaknesses, like the linking of change, which'll need improvement.

Why don't you just create completely new coins? New coins are made daily. Why do you want to use coin with such "history" and probably not-so-excellent reputation?

Mindfox is freelancer, he will work on any coin if you pay him. He is not "tied" to cryptcoin AFAIK.

EDIT: How do you know that devs abandoned this coin? Did I miss something?

MAC address is important only in your local network (LAN). Your MAC address is not visible or accessible outside your local network anyway, no matter whether you use TOR or not.

But whether the local network should be trusted or not is another question.
