Just for the lolz and the irony that the convo history presents in that these two guys recently screamed and grizzled like babies in a cot demanding access to Evan's upcoming white paper.

Given Evan's remarkable track record of development and the fact that he always undersold and overdelivered on every feature they must be clenching sphincters in pure anger right now, when they look at the Evolution announcement knowing they won't get to steal the idea just like they're angry as hell they didn't have the Decentralized Governance idea of having a currency fund its own development. That must burn, especially when reading that chatlog, bitching and whining about "we got noe moneez!!" Tongue

To be honest, there is so little actual coding going on in other coins, I kind of think that being hush hush is a little overkill.  I doubt very few if any coin developers out there could even figure out how to implement the idea.  But it's ok, better safe than sorry.  There are a few sharp tacks, not the ones that come here, but Etherium's guys and Gavin Andresen is still out there watching, probably, not that he could actually get anything done, though I suspect he could code it, LOL.

I don't know how you guys can complain about Monero "trolls" being active in this thread when you post bait like this.

Two people discussing Monero issues, so what?

Such is the orchestration of community development.

I completely agree.

Check this out.  Kim Dotcom is working on a decentralized internet called MegaNet.  It doesn't use IP addresses and in 10 years is expected to run on smartphones.  We will need to change the masternode IPs system to work with this if censorship cripples the internet.

http://www.hangthebankers.com/meganet-kim-dotcom-uncensored-internet/

I get the question all the time, "Bitcoin/Dash won't work when the internet doesn't work."  Well now there is a solution with the MegaNet.

If this can run on smartphone in a few years, maybe cell phone service would be discounted or free if you run a MegaNet node.
Looks interesting. I suspect this is going to work via mesh net technology. Remember FireChat? It's that app Hong Kong protesters used late last year to organise. Every smartphone became a network node and the more people participate the stronger and more efficient it becomes, exactly like a blockchain network with full nodes, so it's highly compatible principle-wise.
Building a new network with smartphones is just that: Smart. These small mobile devices are much more proliferated across the globe than access points and laptops.
So a mesh network like the open WiFi mesh?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_mesh_network
The important part here is that he already has $40 million in funding and is on the way to get another $100 million.  This should happen much faster than maidsafe or the other community driven projects.  It isn't necessarily all about smartphones either, initially he will use standard internet infrastructure but with an alternative to IP addresses.

Here is another release.
https://hacked.com/meganet-kim-dotcoms-encrypted-networking/

I can see a 'Supernode' acting as a Masternode and MegaNet node in the near future.  This would enable the Dash network to withstand any internet threat.

The majority of those conditions (dates, block heights, difficulty levels, transaction amounts) would be easily visible even in heavily obfuscated code. Furthermore, activating at any of those junctures may be sub-optimal for our hypothetical malicious dev's needs. Being able to trigger at point-in-time is incredibly, incredibly powerful (in the negative sense).

Seriously? adding a heavily obfuscated backdoor code would be easy, but adding a heavily obfuscated simple condition code would be difficult?

And the "able to trigger" is as easy as a condition sort of "if certain address sends certain amount".

This is the typical "is it possible?" yes, "is it probable?" almost impossible to happen. And the important question "would DASH be more vulnerable than any other coin?" of course not, in fact it would be less possible with DASH because it has so many critical eyes on top of it that any commit is analyzed in search of something to troll about.

Not an expert but I'd have to guess so. One of the listed routing protocols for example uses MAC instead of IP.

And one of the related items is this btw: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DASH7 Grin

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Such a ragtag, tinpot bunch couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery! You're giving them too much credit to suggest they could take such information and do anything with it... even if they wanted too  Tongue

+1

When necessary we are here defending the project against trolleros. We are not here to provoke or create bad vibe.

I don't care about the talks (real or not) of people from other communities.

This is offtopic and unnecessary

Did you just shit your pants or is that the hypocrisy I smell?
Your gang of dickwads has been smack-talking Dash for over a year on dozens and dozens of newly created or old threads including your own smelly [ANN]. Nobody from Dash is posting there, yet you are here.

ceti merely posted a chatlog excerpt, freely available to anyone interested. This doesn't even remotely count as retaliation to Trollero behaviour and you got the nerve to call anyone out? Does fluffy run a training camp in "How to make a fool of yourself"?

Yeah, I've noticed that, too, a couple of times. I'm still unsure if it's withdrawal symptoms or simply some delayed revenge thing, but in either case, it'll just create more noise later on. That being said, the trolls are an important source of entertainment in this thread :-)
