Let me complement with a couple of notes:
1- Is too easy for a third party introduce provocation on each thread. They can look as authentic supporters of one of the coins (DRK, XC, others), but nobody know what is the real interest in the background, because nobody know where their money is in.
2- As I noted several weeks ago, there is space for both and even more. Only one will never survive alone.
3- Be constructive. Be professional. Be superior by working hard, not by exposing weak points of the other. LTC market capitalization is a lot bigger than all alt-coin anon related together.
4- I will be happy if Mr. atcsecure release a compromise on the same way, for the benefit of all.
Fresh money will arrive massively on a progressive and healthy competitive environment, otherwise they will P&D with controlled risk and move out back to BTC.

Regarding #4, this is a joint statement. Dan is lead developer of XC (atcsecure).
Be very very careful about #1. While Darkcoin has undergone FUD for 100s of pages and much before XC was even conceived, the most recent trend is 3rd party or independent provocation. Some have bold signatures of other coins that they are vested in, while others are not so evident.

Can they please move over to the XC thread? We do wholly appreciate the work Chaeplin and co has done, but its time they move their concerns to the XC thread.
I know the XC thread is moderated, but this has been solely done to combat pump and dump people. There has been an overwhelming agreement between XC supporters that zero legitimate concerns will be deleted.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is we should work together, not against each other. And the XC unmoderated thread will seriously hurt that relationship. Especially as it seems set up solely as a breeding ground for DRK supporters who are against XC.
Hopefully we can let that die, and any serious concerns can be taken to the XC thread.

Not to mention that when quantum computers become a reality, they'll be able to unencrypt all transactions in that blockchain, leaving your past open for anyone to see.

Quantum computers can't break SHA256 and RIPEMD160 (or at least they shouldn't be able to) so you're fine as long as you've never spent any money from your bitcoin address (so your pub key is still unknown). Once your public key becomes known (i.e. you've spent money), then a quantum computer could trivially break the ECC encryption that protects your private key.
Remember, your address is NOT your public key. Your address is a double hash (SHA256 + RIPEMD160) of your private key. If you use bitcoin as intended, every time you spend, your remaining funds are sent to a new change address whose pubkey is unknown to the network.
Known pubkey >> break ECC >> private key...trivial when using Shor's Algorithm in polynomial time
Unknown pubkey >> break SHA256 & RIPEMD160 >> private key...currently not believed to be possible even with Shor's Algorithm
